Very large room,large comfortable bed. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and tidy. Beautiful bathrobes and towels provided. The bathroom was very large with a beautiful big bath also a separate shower. Plenty of extras provide in room ie shower cap, buds and cotton pads. Great breakfast choices always provided plenty fresh juice,toast and jams. Beautiful

The room had many side lights but no central ceiling light made the room fairly dark had to turn bedside lights towards large mirror to be able to see hair clearly. The car park did not have clearly marked disability parking area therefore able bodied drivers parked in this area leaving disabled drivers having to park in a further away space, just needs repainted

Lovely hotel, warm welcome and a nice spacious room with a comfortable bed. Good directions given for parking. Breakfast was amazing with friendly service and a good selection cooked to order. Abingdon itself is a very nice place to visit - we had a couple of good walks along the Thames path and hired a rowing boat for a couple of hours (from AV boats - also highly recommended!) which was good fun!

As it was Saturday night and the hotel is in town it was quite noisy at closing time. Didn't bother us though but maybe would a light sleeper. The hot water was a little slow to get going in the morning but came through eventually!

Decor, although a little dark for me was in keeping with such a historic building, We thought we were getting an upgraded room but this had been double booked (not the fault of the hotel) Staff were all really nice & very welcoming We ate in the restaurant when we arrived - huge portions, very tasty

We only stayed overnight after the ferry from St Malo which arrived late so unfortunately did not spend as much time as we had hoped to, we would try again though FYI - Car park not the same postcode as the hotel but a quick phone call to the hotel & the person on reception soon helped us out.

Lovely old building and our room was great - oak beams, four poster bed, roll top bath - looked just like the photos. Staff all polite, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very tasty - good selection - freshly cooked to order and well presented. Air conditioning in the room was much appreciated due to the very hot weather. Excellent location with easy access to the Thames and the town center. Also easy to get the bus in to Oxford.

We stayed for 2 nights and there was a wedding reception each night so it's obviously a popular venue. We weren't aware of this when we made the booking - would've been good to have been advised.

really great location and the rooms are designed uniquely. The staff are friendly and the location is ideal, parking is free and easy to find and use. breakfast was very yummy and the bath was really nice and filled up quickly.

We were sent to the wrong room (paid for executive and sent to one that was not) I phoned them and they said an error had happened which was fine. then they asked if we could bring our stuff down to reception, where they then checked which our room was and gave us the key to then take our stuff back up to our correct room. it would have been helpful if someone had come up to help us with the move or had come up and just given us the new key as the room was right next door. In the room that was the wrong room there was also no phone and in our correct room the shower was very small and weak

Lovely old world Inn with period decor. Excellent breakfast and we were served by a charming friendly woman who seemed keen to ensure we were enjoying the meal and getting everything we wanted. Lovely place to stay if you want to explore Abingdon and surrounds (Oxford for example). Will definitely return.

it's a minor quibble but they had an old style zinc bath with shower fitted. I prefer a proper shower cabinet as they are safer getting in and out. But it was a good quality shower all the same.

Excellent location between the town centre and the river. Well soundproofed room, so no disturbance from traffic, despiote overlooking the street. All the facilities one would expect from such a hotel and friendly and helpful staff.

I wasn't given the door code for reception when I checked in, so when I tried to return to my room from the bar, which is across the courtyard, at 10.30pm I had to go and find someone to let me in. The airconditioning unit in my room was a little noisy and the bathroom was up a short flight of stairs, which could be tricky for someone in the night. The cooked breakfast was OK, but there was no choice of cereals and I had to ask for orange juice.

We have stayed here many times and always found it a great place. The place is relaxed and the restaurant serves a varied menu, all of which will not disappoint. Quality of the furnishings also is worth a mention, just a little bit more than your regular hotel and the hotel is located right in town with easy reach of the Thames. Good secure and free Car Parking, but limited.

Some of the rooms are up in the gods with no lift available and can be "cosy", so check when you book if room space is important to you.

Super location, a short walk to the river and park. Free parking at the hotel and the breakfast included in the room rate was amazing. All the staff were really welcoming and very friendly. It's well situated for Abingdon as all restaurants are easy walking distance. Not so impressed with the town itself, but had a great meal in a Lebanese restaurant.

My only criticism would be the lovely courtyard was seemingly always frequented by smokers. As a strong non smoker this was quite unpleasant, maybe a designated area away from guests and their families would have been appreciated.

We were here for a wedding at the Cosener House and the hotel was in a great location, just a few minutes walk away. The staff were super friendly and checked us in early so we could change for the wedding. The room was spacious and spotless with a big comfortable bed. The breakfast menu was extensive and it was difficult to choose as it all sounded delicious. My choice didn’t disappoint and set me up for the day. I would definitely stay here again.

The only slight niggle was the temperature of the shower kept changing.
