We nearly didn't book this hotel based on other people's reviews on booking.com being largely negative. Frankly, we had a good stay here & would return. Room clean, bed comfy & bathroom products included. Lovely setting and very quiet at night. Breakfast was good and location is great for exploring the Cotswolds area. Honestly, what do some people want and expect for around £110pn? Get real people, As a portfolio landlady who houses many people & understands the costs involved in running accommodation I feel some members of the public have completely unrealistic ideas & expectations. Thank you Milton Hill House, we will be back.

Other people's unnecessarily negative reviews on booking.com can be very damaging to a business and I particularly felt this hotel has been wronged by nasty people who just like to moan.

All members of staff were kind, friendly, polite and helpful. Everyone seemed happy and calm and on the same team. Bianca was new and an absolute credit to the team! Facilities good and a nice property. Peaceful and quiet, and plenty of space. No silly rules to frustrate and annoy!

My original room was tired, dark and there was a whiff coming in from outside the window. It was too warm to leave it closed. There was little WiFi coverage by the desk which meant work would have been impossible from the room. Thankfully I worked this out on Sunday evening was able to move rooms the following morning to a much more appropriate room, with no fuss. Things are looking a little tired in places, but it's to be expected with an older building.

The location of this hotel is beautiful the grounds are lovely to walk around, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooms are very spacious. We were here for our wedding anniversary and when we went to our room we had been left a bottle of champagne and some lovely cake, it was such a surprise and really made our day.

We ate one evening at the hotel, the only item on the menu we thought we would like was not available which was the steak. We ordered the Deli platter, it was supposed to come with potted Ham hock, charcuterie, Foccacia bread and local pickles, there was no pickles, our charcuterie board consisted of Salami and pepperoni out of a pack, the bread we had was not Foccacia and the potted Ham hock was dry strips of pork. The evening staff in the dining room were very young, calling in each loudly as they passed your table. This was more inexperience than anything but a little off putting whilst trying to have a relaxing evening.

The staff are a huge asset at this hotel and increased our satisfaction of our stay. Bad points - the garden block looks horrendous from the outside - a bit of wedding and a lick of paint would make a huge difference. We were disappointed that the jacuzzi wasn’t working but the pool, sauna and steam room were excellent.

The outside of the garden block looks horrendous. Once inside the rooms are pleasant and comfortable. The signage needs to be improved for guest staying in the garden wing - we wandered around for ages looking for breakfast until a member of staff guided us to the right location

The lovely old main building is set in lovely grounds. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable with a lovely view over the woodland area. The pool and gym in the leisure centre were very good. Towels were provided to use there as were fresh towels for the room. The breakfast was great too in the pleasant dining area. The paths through the natural woodland area encouraged walking around the estate.

The block we stayed in looked a bit jaded on first sight but our room inside was smart. The bathroom was very compact but manageable. The Italian Garden was beautiful but could have done with some serious weeding and TLC to give it the look it deserved, being such a nice feature and near the main building. Not that any of that spoiled our visit.

We were there for a wedding. The wedding venue was beautiful. The catering was delicious, staff were friendly. Breakfast was delicious. There is a swimming pool on site you could use but we didn't get time. Check in and out was easy. It was a lovely stay.

We stayed in a building a tiny way from the main beautiful building which wasn't very nice to look at. There were no complimentary little toiletries in the room. The shower was an attachment from the bath taps and we couldn't get it to work. In the hotels defence, we didnt ask for their help and i am sure they would have tried. Our stay was still very nice though. Thank you.

Location, building itself is beautiful, bar and reception area lovely decor...staff were all absolutely fantastic, couldn't have asked for more helpful and welcoming people. Room lovely.. bed comfy though pillows could be softer (maybe just different to what I'm used to). Food in restaurant was really good and decent portions. Fab breakfast, lots of choice and good coffee. Pool and gym a big bonus and reason we chose this hotel over others.

The jacuzzi wasn't working which I was really looking forward to after a long drive.. Some areas of hotel and leisure facilities need a bit of tlc but they were still enjoyable...steam room and sauna a bonus and pool nice. Not really a dislike but the only slight disappointment at the time of visiting.

The bedroom was super cosy, clean and the bed was very comfortable so much so that I debated skipping breakfast to have a few extra hours sleep it’s that comfy! The steam room and pool weren’t as busy as expected which was nice as at one point we had it all to ourselves. Shame that the jacuzzi wasn’t working that day but it didn’t ruin the leisurely experience.

Breakfast wasn’t as nice as it looked. The sausages weren’t tasty at all plus the fried eggs were cold. Unfortunately one member of hospitality that morning was incredibly rude and short when responding to a question we had.

Unlimited use of facilities helped as a family to use any time we wished Rooms were immaculate, clever use of space and everything included - iron, fan perfect Buffet breakfast was great, dining area spaced well and kept the queues to a minimum

exterior building where our rooms were located looked shabby, slowly being covered with a Virginia Creeper plant - looked unkept and unloved. Once in building thigh a very different experience. Terrace furniture looked tired, dirty in places and generally needed some attention - appreciate there's a lot of ground and areas to maintain. Maybe it's on the schedule to tidy up and improve.
