The warm welcome, the amount of accommodation on offer for a B&B. The full English was cooked to perfection fit for a King, nothing was too much trouble. Great powerful shower and a deep bath. Loved the tea/coffee in the accommodation and the log burning lounge to relax in - the butterfly room. Hospitality was a 5 star service by Kay . Located on the edge of the Royal Forest of Dean, with many things to see and do within a short distant. Breath taking views close by.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like if we had to say anything at a push, it would the Gold room deco wasn’t to our personal taste, a little too dark with the floors and furniture , preferred the light deco of the purple room . Beds were all comfy .

what a gem this place is! the host, kay, is simply wonderful and both the environment and the b&b are stunning! kay has eye for detail and everything you can wish for is there, even binoculars if you want to sit in the room upstairs. we had the suite with 3 bedrooms and the pictures aren’t as nice as the reality! what a FANTASTIC place! there is a lovely garden with chickens and a wonderful yard. Kate is an extraordinary warm-hearted woman and a true host! furthermore she know als the best spots to visit in the environment plus the pubs! breakfast is great! in short an 11 since a 10 is not enough ;-) Thank you so much Kate for making our stay a memorable one!

Kay is a wonderful host; relaxed and friendly, thoughtful and very knowledgeable having lived around the area for many years. The apartment is private, comfortable and beautifully furnished, full of the personality of this family home but also in keeping with the large period property of which it forms a part. That is not to say that the good things about modern life are absent - for instance the beds are very comfortable, there is a mini-fridge in which to keep the milk for your tea and the shower pressure and supply of hot water are excellent, as is the deep bath. The breakfast, cooked by Kay herself, was outstanding and really set us up for the day. The garden with its wandering chickens is lovely too. An oasis of calm and a great place to unwind in an atmosphere that recommends a slower pace of life, where you can give yourself the time to enjoy the details of the beauty around you.

A gorgeous building inside and out. Kay cooked an incredible breakfast for us every day, plus we had juice, cereal yoghurt and fruit. It really was a lovely start to the day. The rooms were fabulous, a really cosy four poster bedroom, powerful shower in the shower room, separate free standing bath in the bathroom. Tea, coffee, hot choc, fresh milk and biscuits all provided. Kay was so helpful and friendly and made our stay a thoroughly enjoyable experience, despite Storm Eunice doing her worst!! Would highly, highly, recommend.

We loved our stay at the B&B, this was exactly what we needed. The beautiful house felt like a mini museum and matched the historic vibe of the area. There are so many gorgeous old castle ruins nearby which Kay, the amazing host, told us about. She gave us some great tips on things to do and places to see in the area as well as some very tasty restaurant options. She also makes the best scrambled eggs! The suite area of the house is very spacious (it’s bigger than our London flat) and the bed was very comfortable. We would love to come back! Thank you Kay & family!

We loved everything. Phone and internet connection weren't always reliable around the area but it only contributed to us feeling even more relaxed!

What a gem. This place is well hidden. If you get there , you will be shocked how great it is ! Loads of space, clean rooms, quiet area. This is a 1 apartment to rent only, so the service is very personalised. You feel very well looked after.

it’s uniqueness, it’s authenticity and the large area that guests can enjoy all to themselves. although we didn’t use it, the lounge, with its open fire, was a wonderful addition. Kay was a wonderful host and the breakfast she cooked was wonderful.

Excellent location for exploring with plenty to do. Lovely breakfasts and friendly hosts. There was just the two of us so we had it all to ourselves but would have been just as good if the children had been with us. Really nice if you want somewhere quieter than a hotel.
