Avonlea Guest House

The room was compact but met all my needs, with an en suite attached. The breakfast was fine - I had the English breakfast but there were other options. The proprietress was very helpful and carried my case up and down the steep stairs. She also helped me to identify a place to eat lunch.

There was only one thing which did not work for me. The bedclothes consisted of a quilt and a blanket and even though I tucked them in firmly between bed and wall they came off in the night twice and ended up on the floor. Maybe other people would not have had this difficulty but it stopped me from having a decent night's sleep.

The host, Sian was exceptional. We requested an early arrival so that we could attend a family funeral and she made sure that our room was ready in time. The room was spotless and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast choice was excellent and the cooked breakfast put us on for the rest of the day! On departure Sian gave us advice about where to buy flowers that we needed to buy which was a nice touch.

Nothing really. Everything was explained about coming and going and the stay was excellent.

Excellent location and excellent staff. This place is a little gem and ideal location for Banbury Town centre only a 10 minute stroll away and 5 t the nearest pub. Sian ( the owner ) was fantastic from the minute we booked to the the minute we left with great Comms throughout. This lady cannot do enough for you so pleased don not hesitate to ask and she will help if she can. Tea , coffee in the room and even some homemade flap jacks !!

nothing - it was all great and could not fault it. Lots of pride taken in the up keep of this guest house , which is not always evident in other places.

The owners were very friendly and helpful and our welcome on arrival was great. We were looked after well throughout our stay, even being given Flapjacks in our room during a second day of our stay. The room was lovely and comfy, clean and very well presented. Breakfast was a highlight… the cooked options were very well cooked and there were lots of other options available as well. Parking was accessible. The property was in walking distance to town.

Very friendly and helpful. Clean and comfortable. The bedding was very nice quality cotton. For the price it was a very good quality breakfast with different choices. Great for a over night stay or short break. Very good shower pressure. Very short walk to the town centre. Off road parking. Lost of places to eat and drink near by.

Would of liked a biscuit in our room, however to be fair I am sure if we'd have asked that would not have been a problem.

Really good breakfast. Sian, the owner, was very friendly and helpful. She left some homemade flapjacks into our room, a nice touch, they were very welcome for the journey home. Our room was very clean. The en suite had a great shower. The location was super, just a short walk to the town centre.

My wife found the bed a little too firm, but it was ok by me. The room was a little small, but just fine for a couple of nights

It was in a great location, short walk into town. The host was very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were very comfortable and well maintained. I thought the homemade flapjack was a very nice touch and exceptionally tasty! The breakfast was delicious and great tasting coffee too! Overall will definitely be back, great guest house and really good value for money.

Lovely, spotlessly clean property in a good location for shopping and restaurants. Ample car parking available. Sian, the hostess, could not have been more friendly or helpful and she served a wonderful breakfast.

The only downside was traffic noise from the busy road in front of the property. Due to the unusually hot weather we had to leave a window open for ventilation, otherwise the noise wouldn’t have been too bad.

We liked everything the breakfast was cooked to amazing a standard with good quality ingredients, the whole house was clean particularly our room and bathroom and the host left home-made flapjack in our room as a treat. The location was brilliant short walk into town and very convenient to walk directly onto the canal path which is what we were doing that weekend

Absolutely nothing it was pretty well perfect

Sian was an exceptional host! She went above and beyond our expectations. She made us feel like we were staying at a friend's home. She was welcoming and extremely helpful in helping us get to where we wanted to go visit. The room was very neat and clean. Breakfast was delicious!! We felt right at home! We would definitely stay at Avonlea again, if we're in the area again!!

I honestly can't think of anything we did not like about our stay at Avonlea.
