10/10 for breakfast, great location and surrounding area, nice restaurant with limited menu, ok if you want a la carte meals, well kept garden.

We stayed in room number 9 which has wheel chair access, this is at the far end facing the carpark so no view of the inner courtyard. It also has a wet room which is equipped for disabled guests which we were not expecting, our fault for not reading the small print on the booking confirmation. There is a small light to let you know that the emergency pull cord system is working which illuminated the room when the lights were switched off that we had to cover up.

We booked the King Room and it was fantastic. Spacious, yet cosy and comfortable with a huge bathroom. Lots of hot water, comfy bed, and great wifi. I wouldn't go expecting a super cosy pub though. Most of it has been turned into a restaurant; there aren't many cosy nooks to settle into and enjoy a drink. The breakfast options were very varied. We had the full English the first day and the Columbian eggs the second - both were delicious! The meal we had was also brilliant. The location of The George is perfect for exploring the area, and the village itself is beautiful.

There were a few little niggles, hence not rating The George a 10. The thing we noticed most was that the staff weren't necessarily friendly - just super polite. Perhaps we just got the wrong impression.

Breakfast was exceptional. Extensive breakfast menu. Portions were excellent. Staff were very attentive. Good evening Menu offering both Alacarte and pub classics. We chose alacarte since we were celebrating. Food was beautififully cooked, by the Chef. Bar was excellent. Offered Cocktail of the week, which was delicious. Also good choices behind the bar. Our room was lovely. Had a hallway with large modern bathroom off and then large bedroom with all expected amenities.

For our liking the mattress was very soft would have liked a firmer mattress. Also would have liked some satches of creamer alongside the sugar supplied for morning tea. Also only one english tea was supplied. They did offer milk but you had to remember to ask for it at the bar. We forgot to do so.

The George is a lovely place to stay and easily accessible to major roads but in a very quiet location. The rooms were spacious and bathroom in our room (No 6) was huge. They supplied fans which was most agreeable for warm nights. The breakfast was very good with plenty to choose from the menu which you handed in the night before. We had 2 evening meals during our stay and on both occasions they were tasty, well cooked and presented and hot as cooked to order.

There wasn't any milk supplied in the room even though there was tea and a coffee machine. You could get fresh milk from the kitchen which when you like a cuppa early in the morning is a bit of a pain. Couldn't quite understand why the didn't supply the normal UHT pods as felt we wasted a lot of milk as no fridge in the room. Rooms are only cleaned on departure unless you request them to be during your stay. The staff were we dealt with were excellent especially as there only ever seem to be 1 member of staff dealing with meals, the bar and clearing tables. They really do need extra staff.

Lovely hotel and rooms. Clean & tasteful facilities. Excellent parking facilities too. Lovely setting. Good food too.

There was just one lady serving at breakfast. She was run off her feet and it was a struggle to get her attention. We ended up having to go into the kitchen ourselves; so not great. They also have this quirky way of asking you to mark up what you wish for the following day's breakfast but the form is printed on brown paper and we were given a pencil which didn't show up on the paper, and whilst we made clear what we would like, in the morning it all came out wrong on the plate! They had misread it completely. If they used plain white paper and a series of tick boxes it would be super clear. These 2 things are little things really and can easily be addressed. Don't let these put you off trying this place as it's a lovely hotel :)

This Inn is an absolute gem of a place. It's still a work in progress from what we were told but even as it was at our visit, it was in a word... Wonderful! From the time we opened the door to our garden room, number 7,it was a Wow! The room was beautiful, the bathroom amazing and the whole experience was one that we will repeat as we intend to go back again... And again! The food is delicious, our first night there we ate in the Inn and there's no point saying its not pricey because it is but the fish and chips were lovely. Next morning we had breakfast, pre ordered the night before and I thought id gone to heaven when my Eggs Benedict came.. Oh my God! They were "the" best Eggs Benedict that I have ever eaten, my husband had the Full English which I have never, ever seen the like of... I know I can't swear so I'll just say they were both amazing! We did have a small idea and that was if the Inn could possibly offer a discount to the people staying there who ate in the Inn at night. I'm sure others would find the benefit of that, i know we would've. It also boasts an electric hook up on the carpark at the rear. The locals are lovely, really friendly and we met some lovely people, we even got invited to a christening! The inn is completely dog friendly, bar, restaurant, everywhere and it was nice to be able to take our dogs with us at all times.

The underfloor heating was rather warm whatever the thermostat said and the towel rail in the bathroom was also hot at strange times for some reason? There were a few cobwebs but you expect that in the country. We did wonder if you were staying there for more than a few days how you would have enough draw space as there isnt a wardrobe? But again these are things that wouldn't stop us from staying there again, not atall. We do think a space is needed to be able to toilet your dogs however, there was grass but obviously they prefer if you don't walk on it but it's so difficult with a dog and grass, you can't keep the two apart really? One of the two poo bins was full to the brim and obviously it hadn't been emptied in awhile 🤢 which was a shame. But nothing would stop us going back!

The property was fantastic, bed was a dream. Very comfy and such a peaceful location. Bottled water in the room, all the toiletries you need as well as a coffee maker and a couple of small sweet treats ! Rooms were huge, bathroom had a double sink. We could not fault the room or the staff at all. Gorgeous gardens as well. Breakfast was also fantastic, lots of options and everything was cooked to perfection/ presented beautifully.

We had a meal on the Monday evening. I ordered the pea and mint pasta, for £24.00 this was very disappointing. The pasta was undercooked and lacked flavour. We ordered the chocolate sponge for dessert which was not what we expected, mainly a chocolate ball with a very small amount of sponge crumbled into it. Seemed very expensive for what we got. When we got the bill we could see 12.5 percent service was added automatically. I agree that hospitality staff should get service charge when the customer is very happy with the food/ waitress but this should be their choice. It should not be added automatically.

All the staff were excellent, as was the room and the food. The staff were helpful, smiley and efficient The bedroom was spacious with lovely decor, as was the enormous bathroom with gorgeous roll top bath. The food was delicious with a good varied menu and catered well for gluten intoleranant people.

The music from the pub / restaurant was very noticeable in our room. It was a bit chilly during dinner, even more so when the patio door was opened The font size on the menus was very hard to read for a couple of our age. Having a check-in time of 4pm, and not having a full dinner menu available on a Sunday was disappointing.

The staff were all excellent, friendly and attentive. All staff were very welcoming and happy to help us! Location was very quiet and in a lovely village which obviously has a great community spirit. Bed was comfortable and room well appointed. Thank you!

The sauces on the Eggs Royale and with the pork chop evening meal were too salty for our taste. Please check behind the toilet in Room 9 (accessible room) as it didn't appear to have been cleaned terribly well. Thank you for sorting out the broken underfloor heating which was not working on our first night, but was perfect after that.

The room was hot even with window open, if felt as if the heating was on! The automatic service charge added to the food/bar bill (although it was removed on request), me and my partner have both worked in hospitality and believe that good service should be the norm that anyone who works in the industry should provide, a tip should be optional and given at the discretion of the bill payer and not added as an expected addition.
