The staff in general and particularly Andrew, nice chap , busy but could fit in a chat where possible Ashley , Rev and young man name forgotten The easy parking and loved the garden I have stayed before and hopefully come to the fest next year

Only 1 Green King Ale (IPA) available and only 2 pumps anyway - and I like your beers Speckley ,Abbott etc . The lock on my door ( room 5 ) seems to me fitted upside down I.E. you turn the key towards the wall and from the look of it l am not the only one to struggle with it TV - well I couldn’t get it on - but not a problem as I came for Fairport so it’s nice to cut off from the news and enjoy your lovely town and Fest

Smooth check in and really enjoyed my stay here. It's a lovely little area close to the town centre, literally opposite the road it has everything you need from shops to restaurants to pubs etc. The food was wonderful. I enjoy pub food but it can be different sometimes wherever you tend to stay and this was honestly so tasty and memorable! Served with efficiency and care, the staff were wonderful and nothing was too much trouble. It was a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere. My room was a single room however the bed was perfect and there was absolutely no noise at night. Despite it being right on a main road, I was slightly worried it may be noisy but it was so quiet. I was so impressed. My room had all the facilities I needed from a hair dryer to a nice selection of teas/coffees/biscuits and even an ironing board. Also a fan which was amazing, I used it quite often during my stay and it was a great addition to the room. Didn't have to ask for anything! The bed was seriously comfy and spacious. I had the best nights sleep and drifted off straight away. The price was excellent for two nights and absolutely great value for money. Very very satisfied.

Not much to say here but if I'm being a bit picky, I'd have to say the shower was a little on the small side. It was sort of at an angle so the doors slid open and because of that it was difficult to walk into. Quite narrow but I suppose that's just the way it was built and that's fine. It wasn't a huge problem. The water didn't get hot right away it took a good five minutes but again, not a problem really just an observation.

Very comfortable. Good location. Staff very helpful. Even when problems encountered (see below) they were understanding and generous (free breakfast after one particularly chaotic morning). There should have been more of them but those who were there were excellent.

Breakfast was chaotic. Waits of 45 minutes-plus 2 out of 3 days. On second occasion table not clean and dirty cutlery/crockery not cleared away. No organisation of tables by room number, just "sit anywhere and we'll find you" (or not). Food, when it arrived, was excellent, which made it all the more frustrating

The staff were very accommodating as it was our first wedding anniversary. They had put a complimentary bottle of champagne in our room for our arrival, we're happy to take in my delivery if flowers. There was a waiter in the evening that was amazing, very happy and always busy, we had a chat with him and asked what the occasion was etc and when he found out he offered us a drink each, such a lovely touch. The bed was comfortable and rooms are a very good size. Couldn't of asked for a better stay. We had dinner in the evening food was divine and even took our pudding order after the kitchen had 'closed'. We will definitely be back.

We're shower people rather than Bath but it was an experience.

I booked a single room expecting it to be tiny but it wasn’t. The room had windows you could open-such a rare thing these days! For the money I paid, this stay exceeded my expectations. A clean, comfy room in a friendly hotel in the heart of a busy town - what a rare find! I didn’t have breakfast but the bar, and dining areas looked inviting. Car parking was great. The best thing was the friendliness of all staff I met. A smile makes all the difference.

The back area could do with a bit of a neaten but as the weather had been as this may be difficult to do.

This is a beautiful period property in a perfect location and the staff are all exceptional - friendly, efficient professional and nothing was too much trouble. Because it’s an old property you must expect some ‘quaint’ features like sloping floors (and bed) narrow staircases and corridors and no lift. That said, everything worked as it should. We were disappointed that ‘the out of season’ menu was limited to a ‘bar menu’ as we were looking for something special. We were directed to an Italian restaurant 50m away and were not disappointed. That said, the second night we ate the hotel food and it was very good, as was the breakfast and staff are all allergy aware.

Very little but it is looking ‘tired’ in places. I hope this is resolved before it loses its charm.

Breakfast was freshly cooked and plentiful, the room was a decent size, the bed was enormous and very comfy. All of the staff were very friendly and fun. We used the restaurant one evening and the home made pies were fantastic.

The only minus was traffic noise at the front of the property, where our rooms were, but that's not their fault as it's the main road through the town and the secondary glazing reduced it if you didn't need the window open. There are bits and pieces of decor one could criticise, but it's a 3 star hotel not the Ritz and none of them affected the enjoyment of our stay.

Lovely old pub with lots of character and well placed for Banbury town centre. Large car park with easy access and lovely beer garden ( if the weather is good) We didnt have breakfast but had an evening meal in the bar which was very good. Warm and friendly atmosphere and very near to the M40 so a very good place for an overnight stop.

We presume the hotel was full as we were given a room on the top floor, ( we are elderly) and no lift, so difficult steps to negotiate with cases and bags but to be fair the staff offered to help. The room was nice and comfortable but because of the age of the building, the floor was very uneven and felt strange to walk across. We would still use the hotel again, but not room 22

The location was excellent with free car park at the rear, a few minutes walk to the shops, restaurant etc. The room was big and spacious, the bed huge and comfortable, room had a hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board and a fan, and free wifi. Breakfast was a mixture of buffet service and ordered cooked breakfast, all good. Staff were in the main very friendly, helpful and informative.

The windows in our room had limiters on them so they only opened a crack and as the weather was hot it would have been nicer to throw them wide open, but the fan did help. The outside space looked a bit unkempt and there were cigarette butts on the mat on the main entrance to the front of the hotel. Small gripes, an otherwise very good stay.

Room clean Staff polite and helpful Reasonably priced food which was tasty Breakfast tasty Quality of products was very good E.g water provided in room, twinnings tea bags, all good quality brands.

Some of the decor requires touching up with paint E.g door frames Outside garden and carpark had rubbish which has not been picked up E.g mug on the carpark wall, bottle of drink, rubbish on the grass. These few little minor things could make this place a really wonderful place.
