West Lodge Park

The question what did you like is hard to answer as I loved all the components on my stay. I had dinner in the quiet and comfortable restaurant one night and I had room service dinner on my second. The room service was brilliant and the meals that I had were very tasty and filling. Breakfast was brilliant and really hearty too. My room was so comfortable and the way it was arranged meant you felt you had a mini suite as the room was so spacious. The heating was perfect and you could open the windows to get in some fresh air when ever you needed it. The bed was really comfortable and the table seats were comfy too. The reception staff in particular were lovely and really friendly which was such a refreshing change and I a have encountered a few grumps in my time travelling. To top it off the hotel grounds were beautiful, you can hear the road sometimes but are really transported into the country when walking around. I was hoping the hotel would be good but it has been my best stay in the UK for a good few years. Service at it's best!

The staff were awesome. Very very helpful, and knowledgeable. Keen to keep up to speed with our weekend adventures in London. The room was pretty clean and the location was super, lovely trees and short distance from M25. I will use this hotel again if we need to stay near North London or have swift access to the City.

There was nothing that I can think of that I didn't like. It was in a quiet location away from the main road. It isn't the Ritz, but the Ritz doesn't have the green space at half the price.

A gracious country estate hotel in London with its own sense of history and even an arboretum! This hotel is classy and cared for. The staff are all helpful and there is a good choice of food throughout the day. We ate in the bar on a whim in the evening and the menu and service were great. They have a lovely outside dining/ drinking area as well. The ‘cosy’ double room was very comfortable and the linen and bed spot on. The view out of the window of the grounds was green and pleasant. The bathroom was roomy with a large bath and good shower that needed a bit of patience as the water system is elderly like us!Parking was really easy and plentiful as I know they also do weddings and other functions. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return if in the area.

Very good for visiting Cockfosters, Barnet, Finchley and surroundings - a country house in extensive and lovely grounds but in striking distance of London

Vegetarian sausages for breakfast have to be ordered for some reason the night before. Otherwise the breakfast was good. There was some confusion on booking out which led to me paying twice, once on Booking.com and once when checking out. This was sorted out efficiently and politely by the manager/owner who was most apologetic. This would not put us off staying again.

The lodge is situated in beautiful grounds, and it was very quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed a lovely short walk in the grounds. Breakfast was also enjoyable, particularly the cooked breakfast, which was of good quality. The Lodge was easily accessible from the M25 and access to the local tube station was only minutes away by taxi. All the staff that we encountered were very helpful and friendly.

Unfortunately the room was very very hot in the night and though the bed was comfortable, we did not have a good night sleep.

Room whilst dated was clean, spacious and comfy, with the room facilities good

The bar food whilst reasonable quality was expensive and below substantial, for example I ordered a main course of fish cake, which was good, but that's all that was on a plate, I appreciate that was probably detailed on the menu, but the bar menu was small and hard to read, and for the price would have expected a side included !! Check out was a disaster, leaving early had to wait for my invoice, which then could not be produced with an offer to wait for the manager for 30 mins or to be sent by email. 36 hours on and i still do not have the email!!

Had a fabulous room with Juliette balcony and was able to open windows wide for fresh air. Great shower and room had bath too if preferred/ Nice setting and lovely outdoor area which is very spacious

My order at the bar didn't arrive - so went back to check and was told order not gone through- I queried it and was assured hadn't been charged to my room. Appropriate polite apologies and many staff acknowledged was an error . Next am at checkout found I had been charged twice so obviously queried it- was disappointed with response as it felt like I wasn't believed . Wont preload a tab again - was my first experience of doing so .

Staff were very attenuative , nothing was too much, especially front desk staff ( Lisa in particular, day manager). additional tea and milk were re filled upon request, rooms were serviced daily

Low water pressure in shower, dust behind bathroom door and long hairs in and around the shower. Some areas were a bit tired looking but I did notice contractors looking at replacing radiators and a few other items within the public areas.

Friendly staff, lovely grounds, good quality room service, bath in the bathroom, easy parking, close to where I was working.

Hotel was incredibly hot and no air conditioning in the room. Breakfast was reheated buffet, not horrible, but not fresh, i.e. it was cooked that morning and kept warm. Room service was nice but £18.50 for a burger plus £5 tray charge is very expensive. £7 for a pint of beer.

The friendly staff, comfortable room and the love touch to the child bed was very nice. Great size room and loved the walk in cupboard to put all you clothes and items away. Overall very impressed with everything as the staff were really friendly, welcoming and professional and it made a world of difference. Thank you. Very small thing there was a large fly that some how got in the room but dealt with it and it really did not take away to the great time we had. 😊
