The plough We used this pub as an overnight stay over traveling back from Norfolk to Devon It turned out to be a good choice with very friendly and helpful staff Top tip - they don’t do food on a Monday or Tuesday evening at the moment ( it was very quiet!!) We were directed to the town centre but one look at google highlighted a number of good places to walk or drive to. On this occasion not wanting to drive we walked into Town to the Torino Lounge which is a good standard chain and a very relaxing vibe where we eat well and shared a bottle of wine Back to the Plough though it’s got a great vibe inside it’s well maintained and has a smart and comfortable retro vibe with some sofa space to relax in creating a great atmosphere. It’s got some great outside space and feels like a proper local and a safe space. The pub is dog friendly but let them know when booking as there is a surcharge. Our room was on the top floor and was again clean comfortable and well appointed including some comfy chairs. It had a great shower and plenty of space for us and Mutley our dog The bed was very comfy and the room had a fridge, kettle tea and coffee. In the bathroom there some toiletries were on offer alongside a massive supply of towels!! Breakfast was excellent and the full English included a proper herby sausage, black pudding and a well cooked mushroom alongside bacon eggs hash brown toast and a tomato - all lovely 😋 A nice touch was fresh orange juice - oh and a good variety of breakfast on offer with pancakes and options on toast Mutley also enjoyed his stay and liked his breakfast sausage given to him in a bowl 👍😁 Throughout our short stay all the staff we met where friendly, helpful and made us feel very welcome👍 A great pub to visit if you are in the area and to stay if you need an overnighted or longer

The breakfast was delicious, fresh-cooked and individual according to our preferences. The room was as we expected, a traditional pub room with traditional decorations. It was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful; nothing was too much trouble. The location was good; just on the outskirts of town so quiet, but only a few minutes walk to the centre. Easy parking at the back of the pub.

A few more sachets of coffee in the room would have been good, but this is a very small detail. We had to ask for milk for the room coffee, but this meant it was fresh rather than packets, so actually better than usual, and they happily provided it.

The rooms are above a cosy & quaint pub. Rooms are rustic and suit the location. The bar/room staff were very down to earth and friendly. Hot drink facilities were good. Mini fridge in the room. Good water pressure in the shower. We were in a room in the top floor upstairs and couldn’t hear the people in the pub at all.

They didn’t have an iron on site, so I couldn’t wear the outfit I had bought with me. I had to rewear part of the previous days outfit which wasn’t ideal. The Wi-Fi didn’t reach our room, so I had to sign in with my personal hotspot to use the Netflix account.

the choice of breakfast we requested was fine , there were more options but we only wanted something light before traveling home . location was great just on the edge of town centre and down the road from the designer outlets .

The only two things we would pick on was that the shower in our room could have done with a better clean and the toilet seat had a loose fitting so it moved around . nothing worth complaining directly to the management I think and it didn't spoil our stay .

Location from Bicester Village perfect and no great a distance from Waddesdon Manor which was our second stop off. Our welcome was great as was our morning greeting and choice of breakfast was fine. My husband had full English whilst I had poached eggs on toast with bacon Both excellent

Furniture was a little dated but being as The Plough is a 17th century building it somehow seemed apt. Could have done with a second bath towel and a teaspoon to stir/remove tea bags

Lovely staff very accomodating we needed to arrive early to prep for a wedding and they were very helpful. Amazing breakfast in the morning proper decent portions and filled us right up! Amazing location Sainsbury's behind you, m&s down the road and Bicester village 7 min drive. Very cute room nice and decorated good shower nice bright light in bathroom

Quite a dark room fine but tricky to see my make up when applying. Fine in bathroom great lighting. We went during a heatwave in August. Might be worth having a fan available just in the hotter months

Very friendly staff, and the hotel room was very comfortable with a good hot shower. The room was v cold because the windows were left open - regardless, it was a cosy stay. Went round Bicester for dinner - ended up back at the Plough Inn restaurant - it was by far the best atmosphere in Bicester that night!

The avocado toast was poor. Luckily served by lovely people so it didn't matter too much.

Easy to get to and clean. Room small as advertised but adequate. The bar area and outside area looked lovely and was disappointed didn’t get to use because of such a short stay arriving late and leaving early.

Friday night. Room above bar. A wee bit noisy when trying to get to sleep for early start but that’s to be expected when booking rooms at a pub.

Great location, friendly accommodating staff. Nice quiet room next to the train station so convenient for us Londoners. Thanks!

We had some electrical problems - one overhead light couldn’t be switched off all night, and then came on brightly in the morning, during which time the bathroom lights stopped working! Hopefully that is all fixed now..

Very cosy and warm. Well decorated. Very well looked after. A lovely pub/restaurant.

The only 3 things were a kettle with a tricky on switch. Had to hold it down until it boiled. Out of 4 coffee sachets only one was not decaf. The light over the bed is also a night light. There is a permanent green glow. None of those things is major. Certainly wouldn't prevent me from staying again.
