location super for Blenheim, reception and breakfast ladies really friendly -great breakfast ! owners charming a lovely little hotel just some minor adjustments to make even better

The weather being late Sept early Oct cold & wet but no heating on in our room, we did ask but only advised of small heater and blanket - tea & coffee facilities in the bay window but water too near to TV, fully appreciate old building but tricky to ensure no accidents do TV could be put onto wall opposite bed to give more room and safety.

The superior double room was excellent, spacious and spotless with a wonderful walk in shower room. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, pillows too! Usual facilities for making hot drinks in the room plus bottles of filtered water. The front of the inn faces west and gets the evening sun. The breakfast room is at the back of the building and gets the sun in the morning. Location convenient for shops, pubs and restaurants in Woodstock as well as visiting Blenheim Palace. Excellent cold breakfast buffet as well as cooked options - I had perfectly soft boiled eggs & soldiers after a dish of yogurt and fresh fruit salad. Very helpful staff and swift service. On site parking at the back of the inn. Ambience similar to a country house with a bar for residents only.

The room was very nice and comfortable. Breakfast was great. The hotel reception staff were very warm, welcoming and friendly, not only when I checked in, but in the morning for breakfast service as well, and when we checked out. It was one of the friendliest most welcoming greetings I have ever had. Things like that make a huge difference to the quality of a stay. When you are instantly made to feel welcome, you immediately relax, especially after a day of travel, and it just starts the stay off on a wonderful positive vibe. The location is perfect!

The only negative I'd say is the room I had, looked directly onto the main high street, and although Woodstock is a small village, the traffic noise is heavy, and starts relatively early in the morning.

perfectly located for our trip to Blenheim Palace. Small car park on site. Was originally a old coaching Inn with lots of original features.our room (3) was very spacious and comfortable. Small espresso machine with coffee pods provided. kettle and teas provided. Very clean bathroom ( with shower). The water is all softened so lovely. Breakfast was nice. Cooked breakfast made to order plus buffet. Very friendly , attentive,pleasant staff.

we stayed during very hot weather, and being an old building there is no air conditioning. Staff provided me with a small electric fan. But as we had to open the windows it was noisy at times. The hotel is situated right on the main road with a bus stop right outside. Ask for a room away from the front of the hotel perhaps. Overpriced for what it was. A musical event in Blenheim palace elevated prices on this occasion.

Being a fairly small hotel it didn't have the some of the facilities of the big chains, this was however more than offset by the friendly comfortable feel of the place. The staff were excellent and the way they listened and delivered our breakfast order showed how they took pride in providing excellent customer service.

There was a bit of noise from buses stopped outside the hotel but that was more than compensated by the location literally right in the middle of the town. We could have also closed the secondary double glassing if the noise had been too disruptive.

From the moment we arrived the staff were fantastic. The hotel has a magical elegant historical charm there is nothing negative to say on any part . Perfect location for Blenheim palace . Carpark excellent as we arrived early and parked up then walked to the palace . The breakfast was one of the best , for choice freshness and nutrition, something for everyone. Freshly cooked by lovely friendly happy staff ( rare these days ) . I would now never stay anywhere but the Marlborough arms when visiting this area .

We didn’t stay long enough !

There were lots of great things about staying here. Firstly, we asked to reserve 2 car parking spaces and despite thinking the car park was full, when checking in were told that there were 2 spaces and they had been blocked off with a bench until we arrived. Everything else was clearly explained to us then too. The room was clean and had good tea/coffee facilities. We had three singles which meant my Mum, sister and I could share a room. There was also a good selection at breakfast in the morning. 😋

Special anniversary so booked a suite - and were upgraded to the best suite for same price. Wonderful extremely old inn, the oldest in Woodstock village. Staff very friendly and helpful. Advice to get S3 bus direct to Oxford from outside the hotel instead of driving to the Park & Ride meant we did not need to use the car (except for 1 of the 5 days to visit friends who lived an hour away). Numerous excellent restaurants in Woodstock all within a couple of minutes walk - we knew hotel was B&B only so booked the restaurants (VERY IMPORTANT as they are very busy most evenings). Blenheim Palace only a few minutes walk away, too - and accessed by walking through Woodstock village - short walk only to the Woodstock Gate; spent 2 full and one part day at Blenheim

The staff members were super friendly and helpful. We felt very welcomed and comfortable hanging out at the hotel. The breakfast was delicious and carefully prepared. The location is just amazing. Walking distance from Blenheim Park and Palace. Plenty of choices of restaurants and cafes around.

This didn't affect our stay at all, but it's worth mentioning that the building is very old and traditional, so it can be a bit of a hazard for tall people :-D Low ceilings here and there, but not in the bedroom.

We chose this hotel because it was within walking distance of Blenheim Palace and it had private parking. By prior arrangement in a phone call, we managed to park early to enable us to visit the Palace before check-in time. On arrival back we received a very warm welcome from Alina on reception and she allocated us to a lovely large room on the top floor. Being an old inn there is no lift so two flights of stairs may not suit everyone. The room was sited at the back so we heard no traffic noise and had a really comfortable sleep in the most amazing bed. The selection and quality of breakfast was really very good and the cheerful service by Alina and her colleague was exceptional. They really are an asset to the business.

Nothing. It is a beautiful old building so be prepared for some little quirks such as uneven floors which may give you the feeling that you've had one too many!
