We've stayed in the Balmoral many times. It's been taken over by the Craig-y-Don next door and we could see changes, for the better. Its now a buffet breakfast which is fantastic. Something for everyone and plenty of it. Previously the breakfast was very basic, one sausage, one piece of bacon, one hash brown, one egg and either beans or tomato. There was bingo every night and entertainment. The entertainers we saw were great and got the audience involved. The staff were very friendly too

Staff were friendly room was clean had sea view as requested. Tea coffee facilities. Bed was very comfy. Room cleaned after 1 night which I thought was good service as we only stayed 2 nights. I did think breakfast was included for the price I paid but it was no problem to add us to the breakfast list. Overall no problems with hotel at all. Thankyou for having us!

The one thing I didnt like which no one has control over was the weather!! Absolutely soaked both days and pleasure beach closed af night peak season was a little disappointing!

Staff were amazing. Especially Michael. We were on the second floor sea view. We checked reviews first and read the place is being refurbished end of the year so booked with eyes wide open. The place was obviously dated but that's fine. Was lovely and clean. Bed was extremely comfortable. The view was just what we were looking for. Entertainment good and if there wasn't any that night we were welcome at the next door Hotel.

The only thing was the lack of parking. There's a small road behind with free parking about 20 spaces but obviously rare any spots become free. So parking then is about £20 per day and a 5 minute walk away. Luckily on the 2nd day we did get a free spot just behind the hotel.

Meals were nice. Breakfast started the day off well. Dinners were ideal - just as expected and went well with the house wine.!! Appreciated the black-out curtains, especially (miraculously) with the weather. Room was spotless, bed very comfortable and a great size. Staff excellent. Location good, with tram stops so near.

TOO CRAMMED ON ENTRY. All too close - wardrobe doors, dressing table, tea tray, bathroom. No spare pillow. Friend too shy to ask.!! Tea cups too small in dining room at breakfast. Mugs would have served better. Occasional table a 'wee bit shoogly' and chairs not too comfy. A more 'relaxing' seating, would be nice.

Staff were wonderful especially Craig the night staff very good stayed with family he looked out for my brothers made us feeel welcome and can’t forget Martin. Who was always polite and friendly enything we asked for he made sure it was there for us. Hotel was basic but we enjoyed every minute of it only down fall was they did not do breakfast which was ok as a wee caffe round the corner from hotel. From the Boyd family from Scotland

Don’t do meals if they started a breakfast service this hotel would be excellent

Staff were very friendly and welcoming, I couldn't fault how helpful they were and the breakfast was spot on, excellent 👌. There was unexpected entertainment on Saturday night which we enjoyed and bar stayed open later due to entertainment being on.

It wasn't a matter that I disliked it , I just felt the decor is very out dated and needs bringing up to date. There was one plug socket that was used for kettle, TV and hairdryer , so if you wanted to dry and straighten hair in front of the mirror you had to unplug tv. A double socket would be better, there were double sockets in the room but in the wrong places. I felt the room was dear but understand its been hard for the hospitality sector.

Blackpool was a bit special in a heatwave. Thousands of people were walking past the front of the hotel. The Balmoral was an oasis of calm smack in the middle of the crazyness.

I was a bit confused as to why they had tables by the pavement for patrons to take their drinks from the bar but they didn't keep the tables cleared. These are their own tables.
