This was a really lovely stay. The Old New Inn is a beautiful old building, right near to the centre of beautiful Bourton on the Water. Our room was really lovely, very clean and with lovely period windows looking out over the ford across the way. The staff were super helpful, my wife wasn't feeling well on one of the nights and they were kind enough to make her some toast to take to her room for she could rest. A small gesture that was really appreciated. The Inn has a model village at the rear. A bit cliché you might say but well worth a visit, particularly as entry is free when you stay at the hotel. The models are exquisite and the level of detail is amazing. A lovely way to while away an hour or so. Bourton itself is so pretty. If anything it's too pretty for its own good as it's become a magnet for tourists and was super busy whilst we were there. I didn't mind that though, as there were lots of nice spots to people watch and dip your feet in the stream going through the centre. There are some nice pubs and restaurants too, we particularly enjoyed the rose tree. Overall, a great place for a couple of days exploring this part of the Cotswolds. Both the Inn and Bourton recommended.

Nothing to dislike.

Location was great, room facilities were excellent dressing table, fridge and fan get a big thumbs up from me! Shower, although over the bath was very powerful. The room was one of the nicest decorated rooms we’ve stayed in. Plenty of towels. The parking onsite is super handy. We loved the model village and free entry was a lovely gesture. Breakfast was presented beautifully, toast was so fresh and delicious. We look forward to coming back here.

The bed wasn’t a king as per the description and the mattress was a little hard. The bacon and sausage at breakfast weren’t to our liking. Bacon was a little over cooked and would of preferred smoked. Sausage was lacking flavour.

It was quaint and lovely and perfectly situated in town and breakfast was amazing and the beds so comfortable! The view from my room on top was excellent. Could see the water and ducks swimming by. Great water pressure and temperature and loved the shower.

Nothing. It was fabulous and should I return to the area will book again without looking anywhere else. As a quick warning to anyone who is not agile, make sure you book a lower room. It was not at all a problem for us, but do know there are lots of tight stairs to go up carrying luggage (there is no lift) so if this is an issue for you, ask for a lower room. Not an issue for me, so we stayed on top floor with no problem.

Good location, and fun to visit the miniature village that belongs to the pub. The food was better than I expected from first sight of the menu. The scrambled eggs at breakfast is a good test of the kitchen, in this case they were excellent

We were in a room in the roof (second floor), I am 1.85 m tall, and had to sidle bent over to get around a desk when going from the bed to the bathroom and the door out. The stairs are narrow and steep, no trouble for me but could be hard for someone who is frail or unwell. It's an old building and that's what you should expect, but know whet you are booking.

Lovely room with quality fixtures. Tastefully decorated and had everything we needed. Staff very attentive, we had to leave before breakfast time one morning, so the chef prepared a takeaway breakfast bag for us. Free entry to the model village attraction next door as a resident of The Old New Inn.

Lack of parking specifically for guests of the property. We had to pay to park in the town car parks until a space became available and then move the car. Although we had to pay again, the £7 fee did cover us for the remaining duration of our stay. The rooms can be a little noisy as the doors close by themselves and do bang loudly.

The location is superb, with car parking right next door and the quintessentially British tiny model village behind, so pretty! The Inn is a beautiful building, which has been tastefully refurbished and the decoration is very "upmarket". When we stayed it was a few weeks before Christmas the Inn was decorated like it was straight out of a magazine, beautiful!! What more could you ask for, a glass of homemade mulled wine, sat in front of a blazing open fire with a mantlepiece decorated with holly and candles, so romantic. The staff were AMAZING, the food was phenomenal as we ate in the restaurant and breakfast really was a treat, with honeycomb from the Inn's own hives, in the gardens. Superb eggs benedict and an array of fresh fruit, croissants and endless toast and coffee with preserves. Again, the breakfast room was dressed for Christmas with a real tree twinkling in the bay window. If you do stay at the Inn, make sure that you book a table for dinner, you will not be disappointed.

When we stayed it was very cold, the area had was cloaked in freezing fog. The room was quite cold when we arrived but this was sorted by turning up the radiators which had been turned down. However, the bathroom was FREEZING!!! I am a lady of a certain age and so, unfortunately, this necessitates me having to use the bathroom during the night. I think it would be a good idea if, during the cold winter months, the management could provide robes for the rooms. I appreciate that this is a beautiful old building and I would not want the windows to be changed in the least BUT having said that, it did make for a cold room, which was sorted, and a cold bathroom, which was not.

Confusing on arrival. No sign where to go and no staff around. We found someone in the bar who told us to wait, then the next person told us to wait as he was playing waiter. Asked us what time we wanted breakfast then told us the earliest was at 9.20am which is not really convenient as check-out was supposed to be 10am. Room small but clean, breakfast was excellent.

They could have avoided any confusion with a simple sign where to check-in. Same with parking, I had to go back and ask about it as not told anything at check-in. There needs to be a sign on exiting. I could bit get the latch to move, I had to go i to the kitchen to find someone, thick is to push the door as you lift the latch, small sign would be welcome.

The breakfast was lovely and the staff were really nice. They had a small fridge in the room with a small kettle and a small TV. The room was small but the bathroom was nice.

I got an email a couple of days before our stay - after they had taken the payment to say that check in must be between 3 pm and 6 pm in the afternoon!! We were arriving off a ferry and definitely wouldn't be there until 7 but I did not expect this. I called them and emailed them. They didn't answer the phone, not many staff around, the chef dealt with us. They checked us in before 7 but the front door is usually locked at 6 pm and they give you a front door key. They don't have a car park and parking is a nightmare. When we arrived at 7 pm, there were 2 spaces left in the public car park outside and you have to pay £7 per night.

The hotel is set in the beautiful town of Bourton on the Water. It is across the road from the water and close to everything else. The hotel is set in a stunning old building, which has been beautifully refurbished to a very high standard internally. We loved everything about our stay - the staff for being so welcoming, helpful and friendly, the comfort of our lovely bedroom, the location and ease to walk around the town, and not forgetting the most charming little model village built behind the hotel. A must see! We had drinks and dinner one of the nights at the hotel bar and restaurant, and the food was excellent. The steak was cooked to perfection (and I am very fussy about how I like it!) Very good wine list and I thought very reasonably priced. The breakfast was delicious and I was impressed with the choice. We had such a lovely stay - almost didn't want to leave!

The location was ideal for seeing around the town. The whole environment created in the hotel was relaxing and the food really good. All the staff we dealt with were polite and helpful. Ask for a room on the front for a view of the river.

Pay and display parking with such limited space isn't ideal (but you are warned about this beforehand). Stairs to the upper floors are steep and narrow, but the staff will help you with luggage, so it's not the end of the world unless you have mobility problems.
