Lovely old inn, pleasant staff. Spacious bar area. Large airy bedroom with interesting old details

No hint in the booking that there was only continental breakfast included. Cooked breakfast prices were exorbitant. No prior advice that "En-suite Bathroom" was only a set of visible items IN THE BEDROOM, bath, shower and wash basin. Separate WC cubicle but still in bedroom. NO privacy and no shower curtain provided. Had we know this we would have booked elsewhere instead.

We loved the area nice and quiet little village and not far away all the pretty tourist villages and 7 minute drive from Diddly Squat farm. The outside seating in the back is so pretty and comfy to chill in the evening. Staff was very friendly.

We stayed on a very hot week and ended up been put in room 6 which is in the loft. It was way to hot for us and our dog couldnt cope with the heat as heat rises. Only one small window opened and fans wasnt helping so we asked if we could be moved and they moved us into a cooler room the last 2 nights. They went above and beyond for us. The new room wasnt as pretty but being cooler was all that mattered. Bath plug was broken in the new room (room 3) so had to get it out with a spoon. I have to admit aswell we was gutted to realise cooked breakfast wasnt included only continental. And £16 for a full english was abit steep. If they offered it abit cheaper for guests then it would of been better or include it in the price for a tiny bit more.

Lumpy soft mattress with broken springs. Stains on carpet. Room 4 was above the kitchen fans and exterior door so staff / chefs arriving early in the morning made lots of noise. I’m the morning we had to ask for our toast 4 times. For some reason the staff just kept forgetting which was frustrating given the high level of service I’d expect. Apart from that the staff were great. Really friendly and helpful.

The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was Adequate… it is a pity the cooked breakfast was not included

The disabled lavatory was not we’ll planned the supporting arms were not in the right place and it didn’t look very clean

The location was great and overall, the place is well decorated and staff are friendly. They ran out of stock of the wine we initially wanted and replaced it with a better wine without extra charge, which was much appreciated.

I do have to mention, however, we were unable to unplug the bath. When a member of staff assisted us, the cause of the blockage was a band-aid / plaster from the previous person. Under the bed, you could see a baby's dummy, pens and random items that were not cleaned. Lastly, there was no means to cool down the room on a very hot summers day so we did not sleep well at all. The fan gave us no relief at all. For the price, I think it could have been a little better.

Absolutely beautiful room, very clean and an exceptionally comfortable bed, we slept so well. The staff were friendly, attentive and helpful without being pushy. Our dinner was delicious and beautifully cooked, as were the continental and cooked breakfasts. We will definitely return, we had a wonderfully peaceful stay.

If I was being really picky, the only thing l could say is the bed could have done with a valance on the base. Purely for aesthetics, as the room was beautiful but maybe just needed the bed base covered.

Beautiful room, with a very comfortable bed and a bath tub in the room. The hotel, as well as the restaurant, are run by new owners, and they are doing an excellent job. They have great eye for detail in making us feel welcome. I don’t want to spoil the surprise, but I can tell you the we loved the cookies. 😋 We had great weather, and enjoyed the garden every day! The included breakfast is wonderful.

Beautiful stay! My husband and I visited with our spaniel Benni and had the best time. Our room was fantastic, comfortable, very clean and a relaxing space for our time away. I love interior design and the decor of the pub certainly delivered. Stunning pub! The food was exceptional and the waiting staff could not have been more accommodating. Our waiter Luca was so friendly and welcoming. we can’t wait to stay again soon

Lovely pub, good food, safe and clean

Our room was above the front door to the pub, we didn’t mind the noise but smokers were standing below the window so smoke was blowing directly into the room... not great when it was so warm. Breakfast is included but it’s continental only - I think this should be advertised. If you want a cooked breakfast it’s £16... which I personally think is unreasonable for customers already staying there... but it’s Chipping Norton, so you’ll have to expect it! The walls are water thin, so you can hear everything next door - in our case, a crying child. Parking is limited to 5 spaces, but the road outside is quiet and safe.
