location was excellent, the hotel was clean, well maintained and full of historic charm and character

the Garden room (7)was extremely small and poorly laid out. there wasn’t anywhere for our toiletries in the en-suite facilities. insufficient space to store the suitcases. it was so bad that I nearly concussed my partner while opening the en-suite door as she was getting clothes out of the case in the only space available in the room. considering the near£200 a night charge. we felt that the hotel offered poor value for money given the cramped room.

The location was excellent. The staff was superior! The teepee bar (Maxi’s) was wonderful and lots of fun.

There was no shower! We had to bathe awkwardly in a tub with a handheld shower head that flowed at a trickle. It’s one thing to have a hand held nozzle, but when the water flow is so weak, it is very difficult to properly bathe.

We were able to go into our room earlier as requested which was good after a long drive. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Adam was lovely to talk to and Emma was a super waitress and took the time to have a conversation with us.They all seemed to work very hard.Food was really lovely too. We also requested an early breakfast which was sorted out by the tall blonde waitress - thank you for your help with that. The position of the hotel and room were perfect.

Because it was so hot and we wanted the windows open and curtains open during the afternoon, it would be helpful to either have a blind or even better a thin voile curtain so no one can see inside from the sitting area on the lawn outside of room 8.We wanted to have an afternoon siesta but had to close the curtains and just leave a small gap.

Latest of several visits. Love the location, fantastic friendly staff, useful restaurant, although I don't have much breakfast personally, but evening meals are fine, and there are other restaurants in the village for a bit of variation. The rooms I've stayed in have been a good size, clean and tidy. Obviously if you're using a fine toothcomb you can find the odd fault, but nothing that would put me off. Staying here isn't cheap, but just look where you are...! Thanks to the team who make my stays so good!

Could be a bit more choice on the menu, perhaps, re evening meals. There's only one dish that's a bit smaller, otherwise it's generally more than I personally can manage. Appreciate most people probably wouldn't find that a problem, but I don't have a huge appetite! Also, a continental breakfast option at, say, a tenner, might be worthwhile for those (like me) who don't eat much breakfast...? Neither of these will stop me staying again, though!

Great location in Bourton on the water, central but very quiet and peaceful. The garden area at the rear makes you feel in the middle of the countryside not town. The staff were exceptional, very friendly and helpful. We had dinner and breakfast there and the food was excellent.

Our garden room was on the small side and in need of a refresh, but it was clean and tidy with good facilities E.g. tea/ coffee making, hairdryer, even an iron and ironing board.

The room on the ground floor suited my needs exactly and the location right in the centre of Bourton on the Water extremely convenient.

The mirror above the desk is too high to see into when sitting down and a more accessible socket for the hair dryer near the mirror would have been good. Also, the tv would have been better situated above the radiator so that it can be viewed from the bed. The lack of an armchair was a bit disappointing. The two stools not really comfortable.

I could fawn and swoon over our room all day long! It was so quaint and cute, and comfortable with great view of the gardens. Upon our arrival, we learned that it was also the oldest original house in Bourton-on-the-water (?) which made it all the more a special experience to stay in this specific hotel. We didn't eat at the restaurants (there were so many options around Bourton (but do try to book in a day in advance for a table during the summer!), but there was a nice sheltered bar area in the garden with toilets both close by the bar area and in the lounge. These two places (the bar area and the lounge, not the toilets) were my favourite spots as an artists to spend a few hours drawing and write. I wish I could've have stayed longer for this purpose alone!) The staff also helped prepare our room and let us in early when we arrived earlier than 3pm.

Nothing to say really! Maybe that Booking.com is a bit misleading with their distance calculations when it comes to Bourton-on-the-water. This hotel in particular, along with a few others situated next to the river, we're not talking hundreds of meters from the center. They're literally bang in thick of it. You hardly need to get up and walk before you're anywhere.

On arrival the lady who checked us in was so friendly and accommodating. We were attending an event that same afternoon and arrived before check-in time with the hopes we would be able to leave our car in the car park. She checked and our room was already ready, so she let us check-in early; totally reducing any stress we had for the logistics of the day. We really appreciated the hotel's private car park, meaning we didn't have to battle with any pay-and-display car parks nearby. The room - or should I say suite - was ginormous! We had the family room in the Coachhouse which had two separate rooms which we weren't expecting. The room was clean and well-presented. We had views of the entrance and the tepee bar which has festoon bulbs that looked so picturesque at night. Large bathtub and corner shower with great water pressure and complimentary L'Occitane products. The room was quiet and we had a great two night's sleep there. The Wifi was consistent and worked well. We didn't want to leave and I cannot wait to come back - the main building looked adorable so I'd be intrigued to stay in one of the rooms there next time!

Overall we were very happy with our stay. As with the age of a building like that, small things such as the paintwork could have done with a touch-up in places, but that's really splitting hairs. The TV in the room was also quite small.

Location, location, location! Wonderful in the centre of Bourton on the Water. We booked a Garden Room but got a room outside so perhaps we were upgraded? The room was very tidy & clean. No complaints whatsoever. The parking great & exclusive to the hotel. The unusual bar in the garden actually works & the food here although restricted was actually good value for money if you do not necessarily want to pay 100 pounds for a meal, which you might in other places within walking distance. I would suggest it is nice to have that choice? Yes would recommend!

Brutally honest the hotel was perhaps a little on the expensive side but then you have to understand the location & the overall facility. However if you want to feel looked after & can afford a little extra then actually there should be no complaints!

The room we got was extremely small to start with. There were no chairs to sit down on as the room was too small for any. Also the electricity switch tripped and we were without any electricity for a while. We did ask for another larger room which we got. This was much better , however, still only one chair in the room. It would have been better if there were a sofa etc.

Add sofas , armchair's to their rooms.
