It was a good location for walking and exploring the area. Close to Stow, and wasn’t too busy. The pub has character, plenty of parking, very good food and very dog friendly. The owners have provided details of local walks from the pub, tried and tested. Having a residents only lounge is an extra that not a lot of places offer. The staff were friendly attentive. We would like to thank the house keeper Tracy, how goes the extra mile especially at breakfast we’re nothing is too much trouble.

Location room lovley staff

The one fault I could say was the gratuity added on to our bill every night for service we have always tipped and find it important to reward good service but I do think it should be on the customers discretion and what they would like to give after all it is a tip apart from that we loved it a lovley place and would go again staff all lovley

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this quaint English pub inn in the beautiful village of Upper Oddington. Just a short drive from Stow-on-the-wold, and other villages. The in-house restaurant served a delicious breakfast and a sophisticated evening meal. The owner and the rest of the staff were friendly and could not have been more helpful. Our room was clean, comfortable and pleasantly decorated.

I would note that they have a couple of dog friendly rooms that we were originally placed in. There was a distinct odor of dog. When we told the owner, we were immediately given another room.

We arrived very late due to a 5 hour motorway delay and staff stayed on to let us in. The dog friendly room was lovely and our dogs were welcomed. The breakfasts were excellent and the staff delightful and great service. Sat night we ate at their restaurant but having booked via booking.com they couldn't find our booking. It was a wedding anniversary meal and that was very good too. The dogs dined with us with Woofchester meals which they loved too. All in all a lovely place to stay and I am sure we will be back.

A quick run round with the hoover to get rid of the grass after the beer garden had been cut would have been nice. Not an issue really but we didn't like bringing grass into the room but it was unavoidable.

A lovely place to stay, in a pretty village which is very nicely located for sightseeing. Staff were friendly and very welcoming. They gave lots of useful information regarding the local area and nothing was too much trouble. My dog was very well catered for, a bed, food bowls etc in our room, and was welcomed in the restaurant for dinner/breakfast. There is a large carpark and a small garden with a stream and plenty of tables.

There is nothing that would stop me returning. If anything my room was next to the entrance of the carpark/store room. There were some very early morning deliveries, so you could hear these. Some parts of the building looked a bit tired.

The pub was in a lovely quiet location and had a nice big beer garden with a cute little bridge. On arrival there was a little basket with gifts like water and biscuits, which was a nice touch. Great choice of food for breakfast. The staff and owners were really friendly and attentive. We had a very relaxing time here, which was exactly what we needed coming from the hustle and bustle of Greater London.

The bathroom was a little bit on the small side, but was still adequate for our needs. There is only so much that can be done with listed buildings. Despite that, it was still a very nice room.

Very comfortable accommodation and we managed the unusual and quirky upstairs to the bathroom! We were a little disappointed about the quality of the breakfast - No wholemeal toast. We booked dinner on our first night which we found very poor value for money and the quality was most disappointing.

The quality of the food could have been better; we were disappointed not to have good wholemeal toast. We booked our first dinner on our first evening which we found very poor in quality and value for money

Absolutely perfect. One of the few B&B’s in the cotswolds that is not right on a main road, making it a perfect quiet retreat. The rooms were small but spotlessly clean with plenty of storage. Excellent breakfast and dinner, wonderful atmosphere all around.

not a dislike, per se, but just a warning that they make very clear on the booking. It is a fully functioning pub, and you can hear the restaurant noise in the rooms until about 9:30. They close pretty early for a pub, but be sure to bring earplugs if you’re a bit jet lagged and want to crash early.

Very quiet location, close to lots of lovely country walks, within easy reach of Bourton on the Water, Moreton in Marsh, & Stow on the Wold. Staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient throughout. A great really team. Food and wine were really, really good. Sunday "pie night" was almost as busy as the Friday and Saturday evenings. Breakfasts were good - a relatively small number of choices but they were happy to provide alternatives. Cosy residents' lounge with log fire, books & a complimentary drink vending machine. Newspapers provided every day.

Rooms are very small (although we were aware of this when we booked). Mattress not particularly comfortable (Room 1). Fittings in the bathroom were low quality & coming away from the wall. Wardrobe drawers were coming apart/broken. Very little surface area to put things down & nowhere really to hang towels to dry, although these were changed after 2 nights which was helpful. Some noise/loud music from what I think was the kitchen below the room. At breakfast the coffee (not hot) & toast (very thin cheap bread) weren't up to the same standard as other food & drink during our stay.

Excellent location and the breakfast was the biggest and by far the best we have had, evening meal was also excellent.

No reflection on the Horse andGroom as we feel this where ever we stay but do not like the service charge added to the bill. We like to tip what we think appropriate and the actual person serving us, definitely not an what the restaurant thinks we should give.
