Forest Park Country Hotel & Inn, Brockenhurst, New Forest, Hampshire

The hotel has lots of character and is very quirky. The staff are exceptional 👌

Maybe be able to have the tapas menu throughout the evening for the bar. Nice to have the option rather than a full dinner menu.

A well run Hotel with friendly staff in an excellent location. Good food with lovely breakfasts overlooking the rear gardens. Some of the bedrooms/bathrooms are a bit small, but well appointed. Lovely dinning room and bar area but no residents lounge. Overall the atmosphere is like a mini 'Country House' Hotel ...more like a 'Country Inn' with a good vibe.

Some bathrooms are a bit small and don't have a walk-in shower, but have a bath with shower over - which is a bit hard to climb into if you are not too supple.....otherwise the bedrooms are well appointed. In the public areas there are really no negatives - other than not having a residents lounge.

Location was great. Walking into Brockenhurst for shops and other restaurants etc. was easy. You can also walk into the forest/heathland straight from the front of the hotel but also ideally placed for getting to other parts of the New Forest/coast. The staff all very attentive, friendly and helpful, it seemed like everyone worked as a team. Breakfast was very good, loads of choice, hot breakfast cooked to order. Coffee came in a cafetiere which meant it was hot & strong. Bedroom was comfortable, clean and not too noisy (we faced the road so occasional car noise but the road isn't especially busy & very quiet at night.) Bathroom very bright, spacious & clean. Also top marks for having an EV charger!

The vegetarian offering on the menu wasn't great. 2 hot mains & 2 main salads from a menu with around 14 other options for meat/fish eaters. Consequently, we only ate in the restaurant on our first night. The pudding, however was delicious. (Luckily we found a great Italian restaurant in Brockenhurst (Albero) where we ate for the other two nights. ) Pillows were a bit on the solid side as well. No fridge, which isn't a deal breaker but would be nice to have somewhere to chill drinks.

Great staff, great food, great location!! It's a nice hotel where you can relax in the New Forest. The dining facilities are excellent, and we really enjoyed our breakfasts. They were a great start to the day!! Plenty of parking and nice grounds. The Dyson hair dryer was a nice touch of quality!!

The hotel room was a bit tired, with the bathroom being quite worn. It is probably due a refurb soon, as the veneer on the sink unit is coming off, mirror is rusty, the tile grout is lifting/stained, and the carpet was lifting. These are not show stoppers, but just lower the overall standard of the room. The room was clean but clearly required a deep clean! Lots of fluff and dust around the bathroom fan. Also, the same fluff all over the wall above the radio next to the bed = quite unusual? Again, not a show stopper, but it makes you think what other details have not been cleaned?

This is the perfect country inn if you are looking for a home base in the New Forest. The staff is absolutely charming (Emma, Jean-Marc in particular) and helpful. Our room was spacious with huge window views over the forest, breakfast was excellent. We enjoyed room service dinner one night as we were totally exhausted and it was beautifully presented and delicious. Steps from the front door is the New Forest and we wandered among the ponies and gorgeous heaths for hours. A few minutes walk down the road is charming Brockenhurst. We visited in April before the garden was open, but it looked very inviting. I will definitely go back and spend more than two nights.

the entire environment was lovely and the staff so polite and charming. four of us stayed in two lovely dog friendly rooms on the ground floor.

the cost of food and drink. we had a bottle of sparkling water on the sun terrace and were charged £16 for the pleasure. Ice must be a rare commodity. We had dinner at the Inn and it was really lovely but at a price tag of £280 for food and drink it should be. I’m disappointed that such a lovely stay was tainted on check out with such a large bill. I expect to pay for good food and drink but feel this was extreme. we have had better value at the Ivy. sadly it will put me off recommending a stay.

Having a dog, over the years we have become used to a drab box room. Not here! All dog owners have a ground floor room, ours had a patio door out to the lovely grounds with tables and an outside bar, and a double bed we could have landed a small plane on. Great people, great hotel.

Liked everything. We did have a previous hotel in the Brecon Beacons when at every meal time they asked "would you like some chicken for your dog" and our dog came to so look forward to this, we daren't consider eating anywhere else.

Great location for exploring the forest. Staff are exceptional. Lovely garden to sit in and an extensive cocktail menu. This is our second visit and we will definitely visit again. The specials each day were nice as the menu was the same / similar to our previous year’s visit, although I believe it may have recently changed.

charging extra for some breakfast items such as eggs Benedict which are standard in this sort of price range hotel, potentially bringing the breakfast charge from 16 to 21 pounds. I don’t think this can be justified as it says on the menu that things are cooked to order anyway.

On the outskirts of Brockenhurst 10 mins walk from centre of village, this old House has been beautifully concerteed to an extremely comfortable and welcoming Inn and Hotel with Pub and Restaurant. We asked for a quiet room and it was- overlooking the rear of the house and gardens. Exceptionally, the room temperature was spot on for us- had we wanted more heat the radiator was easy to operate. Airy bright beautifully appointed with tea coffee etc. LOVED the organic shampoos etc. We only had a single night- but we shall return. Breakfast was fantastic in the lovely dinning room. We noticed that they really mean what they say about dogs being welcome but if you didint like furry friends you wouldnt notice- a rare art!

Everything was absolutely to perfection The staff went above and beyond, nothing was too much for them. Jean-Marc and Hettie were an absolute delight at breakfast. The manager was also very prompt and efficient in changing our room straight away with no hassle after one night of banging on the roof above our room due to high winds most likely causing something to become loose. In fact the hotel was that perfect we paid to stay an extra night. All the rooms we had were absolutely perfect, but room 212 was the most homely and cosy. I will certainly be coming back again and will certainly recommend to all my friends.
