We had a 1 night stay at The Filly Inn, the whole experience was very relaxing. Staff made us feel welcomed on arrival, were friendly, attentive and accommodating. We ate in the pub side as we were tired from our journey, the food was served promptly: the ham hock terrine with homemade piccalilli was amazing, our steak cooked perfectly and the Korean chicken burger very flavourful. The breakfast was even better, good quality ingredients, very generous portions and absolutely delicious. The location of the inn was stunning, beautiful views of the New Forest and only a short drive from Brockenhurst where we met the local ponies. We would definitely return again.

The bedroom was a little warm but the fan provided remedied this.

Amazing location in the heart of the New forest, wild life at every turn and access to nature at every turn. The filly Inn has a great look about the place and nicely set out from the Inn itself to the gardens and surrounding area. Ample parking and outside seating for the brighter days. Staff attentive and ready to help. Room very well presented with some very nice toiletries and soft towels supplied, even shampoo for the dogs if they bring a little too much of the outside in. Good selection of tea and filter coffee and home made cookies a nice touch. Good night's sleep until mother nature sent in the squirrels to get a beech nut breakfast at 6am dropping them on our section of roof. Don't mind being woken by nature. Breakfast the next morning superb, faultless breakfast with many options. Views around restaurant great although our particular room was within the loft of the property so only roof windows but didn't affect the stay.

The room was lovely and had everything I needed. The breakfast was delicious, as were the freshly made cookies waiting for me upon my arrival. There was a great selection of teas and coffee in the room as well as milk and water in the fridge. There was also a hair dryer and iron. The room was a little warm (it was a very hot weekend), but there was an effective fan to take the temperature down in addition to the electric sky-light windows. The bathroom was spacious and had some essentials in case I’d forgotten my own. Great staff too! Overall, a lovely place to stay.

Not much to dislike, but my major gripe was the loud door slams. The room doors had to be shut firmly behind you, creating a loud noise; a guest sadly woke me up at 5:30am trying to close their door. Besides that, it’s a great place to stay.

we loved everything about this hotel. our first time staying at The Filly Inn, and we will be returning back next year. Dave & Holly we’re exceptional hosts. offering their time to talk to their guests but allowing privacy. The interior of the hotel was cosy & old, with modern features which worked great. Both Dave & Holly, and their staff welcomed our dog Billy with 5* service which meant a great deal to us. They gave Billy a cooked sausage for breakfast every morning, with complimentary dog shampoo in the bedroom, to dog food available if you didn’t pack enough! Great location within walking distance to Brockenhurst & Lyndhurst. lovely views around the hotel, surrounded by the tall beautiful tree’s of the new forest. The food was superb with great flavours and appearance. We were gutted to leave as we felt at home here. Would highly recommend anybody to stay here, whether you’re looking for a dog friendly hotel, or just a one night stay. Thank you Dave, Holly & all the staff for your exceptional hospitality.

the only minor thing is the road noise from the room. We had to have windows open due to the heat but when closed, you couldn’t hear it

Filly Inn is nice local place to stay if you are in Brockenhurst for hiking. The room we stayed in was spacious and clean. They had nice coffee, tea, homemade cookies, toiletries and even a dog shampoo for my muddy dog. The bus 6 goes to the train station and Lymington (next seaside town) just across the road. There are nice hiking paths in the area. I used the 'all trails' app for this. The breakfast menu and main menu are tasty and fresh. Coffee is also very good. My dog loved the morning dog snacks the chef brought. The Inn also have dry & wet dog food incase you run short. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They asked multiple times to check if I am happy with everything. My dog had a tick from the bushes. The staff had the removal tool and helped me. Every morning we saw the staff tidying up and cleaning all areas of the hotel including the garden. They also clean the rooms daily. They really take care and make the place welcoming.

The bus schedule is not very frequent so the timing has be very efficient.

The location was on a busy main road, but cross from that was New Forest heaven! Ponies and dog walking galore. The room was pleasant, and loved the local toiletries. Everything was modern and fresh. Dinner was delicious

The room was small and rather dark, the low hanging light was problematic (as was the beam but that cannot be changed)! Breakfast was nice but nothing spectacular. Our main issue was that the room was 'refreshed' not cleaned, when holidaying with a dog things quickly become gritty and a mop and tidy would have been nice. The second day the room was not tended to at all, but we got what we needed by asking. A little disappointing really.

The Filly inn is in an ideal position for visiting both the New Forest and the South coast. The surrounding area is beautiful, full of free roaming horses and donkeys. The staff are friendly and attentive. the meals are varied and delicious. We ate there every night. We were able to sit in the garden each evening and watch the sun setting whilst having a drink.

During our particular stay they could not really have improved on anything. Hattie in particular was very friendly and helpful.

The Filly Inn was a great place to stay for our visit to Beaulieu Motor Museum. It's in a lovely part of the world, we were first time visitors to the New Forest and will definitely return. The twin room was spacious with a wonderfully bright, clean ensuite. The food was excellent and portions very generous. The adjoining bar served a small but good range of beers. The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful too. We would recommend The Filly for a relaxed stay in the heart of the New Forest.

Everything was brilliant. The location for us was great but more importantly, the staff are exceptional. Everyone was very efficient, and friendly and went out of their way to meet any requests and answer questions regarding the location/ walks etc. The space was well maintained, clean and tidy and first-class dog friendly! We took 3 dogs with us, they have a "night door" to the rooms which meant we didn't need to disturb other people/dogs by walking through reception and the Bar. The lounge area was comfy and warm! All round I would highly recommend a stay.

The only thing we would have liked was extra pillows on the bed.

From the moment we arrived the staff were so welcoming. Gertie our 5 month old puppy was made to feel just as important and the whole experience was excellent. We could not have asked for anything more. The owners were very friendly and made sure Gertie had her freshly cooked sausage every morning.The location is excellent for exploring the New Forest. The best roast dinner we have had for a long time. A big thank you to all not forgetting Skye. We will be back.
