Passford House Hotel

The staff were very accommodating even before we arrived, and friendly throughout are stay for 2 nights on a busy bank holiday. The hotel is oldie worldly, caters for for retired, family's and for me my 2 sons in their 20's who enjoyed a fab masseuse Natalie, I highly recommend! Fun was had with crochet (made up our own rules), putting golf and the fab indoor and outdoor warm pools, and sauna, so even on a rainy day there is something to do. The gardens are delightful and well maintained and we had on arrival a Tea and if you have a sweet tooth you will enjoy, enough cake there for 3 :-) Very close drive into Lymington which is a nice town with plenty of eateries. Passford Hotel is a 3* and to expect more would not serve the place well, it is clean, has nice facilities, warm welcome and has charm, I am more use to 4/5* but I will be back.

My son and I shared a twin room, the room is fine for a short stay, nice view over courtyard, but both of us who have different mattresses at home 1 medium and other firm , both did not sleep great, as mattress FAR to soft :-( Also if the sheets and mattress protectors, could of been fitted ones that would be good!

The room was well presented, with a very nice view out over the garden, the four poster helped to top it all off. The bar & reception areas had a calm & pleasant feel & the staff where very helpful.

I arrived down for breakfast at 09-15 hrs I collected my plate of food from the selection in the containers, expecting all food to be hot & fresh. I chose Bacon, sausage, fried bread, fried egg etc, only to find when I reached my table that the bacon, sausage & the fried bread where all cold, they could not even be classed as warm. Certainly not what you expect from a Hotel of this standard & at a cost of £15. Could & Should do better, this can only be down to the staff on duty at the time not doing their job properly, checking & restocking.

We loved the pool and the grounds and the dinner was surperb.

They kindly upgraded us from a family room to a double room and with additional room however with only one child (under 10) we didn’t feel comfortable putting her in a separate room to ours which had two main doors between us and so in the end I had to share the bed with our child and so my partner slept in the other room. Not ideal.

This hotel is a wonderful old building in a beautiful setting with glorious gardens and excellent facilities. We were told at breakfast that the hot buffet was not available but we could order a hot breakfast as required, so I cannot comment on what it would have been like as a buffet. However, we had an excellent full English breakfast cooked for us. The deluxe double room was excellent - extremely spacious, with a sofa and sitting area, coffee machine, TV etc. The bathroom was huge with double sinks, a large bath and a very spacious shower. We were there to attend a wedding so did not actually make use of the facilities like pool and gym etc, so cannot comment, but everything looked lovely. The building and the grounds are oozing with character.

My only complaint would be that there were no products to use in the bath (bubble bath etc) and no separate shampoo (only shower soap in the shower). The bed was large and comfortable, but a little lumpy so could have been more comfortable.

Amazing facilities. We had great weather so the outdoor pool was an absolute bonus. However there is an indoor pool, gym, outdoor tennis court and some beautiful grounds to walk around. The hotel it’s self was nice, very clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We only ate breakfast at the hotel but it was very good.

Rooms are a little outdated and the water pressure in the showers are not great, water just dribbles out. We had more then one room in our group and we all had this issue with every room.

Beautiful location, nice old building. Lovely Christmas decorations. The superking bed was very comfy and the big bath was a bonus. Breakfast was nice and good value for money. The gardens in the ground were a lovely surprise and really added to the experience.

Decoration in the room needs updating, offensive curtains. The wi-fi didn’t work at all in our room and staff were unable to assist. The fee for having a dog was a bit steep (£30 when most places charge £15 - £30). The NYE set dinner menu was also very pricey at £85pp and so was out of our price range. The fire alarm went off twice, once in the early hours of the morning. There was a lot of banging and crashing from neighbouring rooms/the corridor.

Excellent breakfast, spacious and comfortable room, bright leisure centre, peaceful, plenty of parking, helpful and friendly staff, telephone answered in person, slightly old-fashioned but full of atmosphere which we liked, lounges available, lots of grounds surrounding the hotel.

The restaurant evening meals were very large and tasty, but we would have liked more choice with a range of prices. The hotel is situated down a narrow country lane, not so east to negotiate in the dark. Better signage would be helpful, particularly from one direction. A few more signs in the hotel would be helpful too.

Lovely gardens, good facilities, helpful staff. Good position for visiting relatives in Lymington. Comfortable room and facilities. Very nice breakfasts with lots of choice. Delicious Eton mess dessert.

We had one dinner in the restaurant. For the halibut main course the potato was hard under our fish. The meal lost heat quickly and sauce was a very small amount, drizzled round the plate, you could barely taste it. Felt it was rather expensive especially needing additional vegetables.

The building and ground are beautiful kept, so peaceful and relaxing. the staff are Geri pleasant and helpful. Swimming pools are great for family with children. love the garden, especially the Monet garden. A place to rest and finding ‘’me” time. Highly recommended 👍⭐️

If you travel by train, make sure you book a taxi from Sway Station as the hotel is 3 miles away. I was stranded for an hour before I finally got a taxi via Google to take me to the hotel. Luckily the phone signal was ok.

I loved the ambiance of the place. Staff was fantastic very smart the food was Awesome.

It was over priced the food was excellent but £24 for a main meal chicken. No too expensive. Also the room rate £180 a small room & breakfast should of been included for that price the room was nothing special , we were bo9ked for breakfast but it wld of been a extre £30 so unfortunately I l9ved it but won't be going back at that price!
