What's not to like? It's a teriffic location. The house is wonderful and run by wonderful knowledgeable people. John and Steph could not have been nicer greeting us like old friends. John took our bag upstairs to our room, showed us the room and left us to settle for a few minutes. Once we were unpacked we were invited for tea/coffee and fresh made cake in the conservatory. Own produce used own eggs, even own breakfast meats raised by themselves and butchered locally. Jams marmalades, honey and curds. Superb!!! Room well appointed light with a view across the gardens and a HUGE en suite!!

Our stay at Hunters Croft was excellent! I had high expectations based on the reviews I'd read, but it exceeded our expectations. John and Stephanie are lovely people who provided an excellent service. On arrival, we were warmly greeted and invited into the conservatory for tea/coffee and homemade cake. Our room was clean, comfortable and had personal touches i.e tea and coffee facilities. We even received an Easter card and egg on Easter Sunday which was a lovely surprise! The conservatory where we had breakfast had lovely views of the grounds. There were cereals and fruit, but also a choice of hot dishes. The food was produced locally, the sausages, in particular, were delicious! There was homemade bread and lemon curd which were also delicious! In fact, we bought lemon curd to bring back with us. We had a lovely stay and will return in the future.

There wasn't anything that we didn't like.

Our hosts were both so friendly and interesting. The house was very old and quirky, but gorgeous - warm, comfortable, spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. Our room was perfect. There was everything we could possibly need, with useful furniture in the bedroom and a really lovely light and airy big bathroom with bath and shower and a big basin with lots of places to put things, and plenty of big, fluffy towels. The garden was very pretty and our breakfast in the conservatory was the best ever, as our hosts produced the eggs, sausages and bacon themselves, and also made the bread and preserves. These were truly motivated people who obviously enjoyed providing their guests with every comfort down to the last detail.

I could not find a single fault.

Very warm welcome from John and Stephanie, which also included delicious homemade cake on arrival. We were in the annex, which was very spacious, clean and comfortable. It was too cold to use the terrace, but we could imagine enjoying a drink out there of an evening. While away from the hustle of the nearby towns, the accommodation was only a short drive from all of the main attractions. John and Stephanie gave us some great tips on where to go from coastal and forest walks to great restaurants. All were spot on. Breakfast was exceptional with a good spread of continental and cooked breakfasts including homemade produce and catering to different dietary needs. Because there are only a few rooms and breakfast was served 830 to 9, we got to chat to our fellow guests and share a laugh. Would definitely recommend and we'll certainly be back to explore more of this beautiful area.

Nothing.

Everything was very comfortable. John and Steph work hard to ensure their guests have all they need. Breakfast was excellent with good options. Lovely spacious room and bathroom and the option to sit in the conservatory or the garden. Everything very clean and relaxing.

Only downside was (as we were told before we went) that Hunters Croft is some distance from anywhere to get an evening meal, making it necessary to drive. Only a small disadvantage and John and Steph are happy to suggest possible places to go.

Have recently returned from 3 nights B&B at Hunters Croft in The New Forest. John & Stephanie, who run it, did an outstanding job of making us welcome, keeping us informed, and just generally making the experience great. The bedroom was spacious and spotless, the bathroom excellent, and the bed was really comfortable. Breakfast each day was about the best I have ever had in a B&B, with a host of tasty home-cooked food provided by very expert cook Stephanie. If you are surfing online looking for a first-class B&B in The New Forest, you have found it here.

Great communication via Booking prior to arrival. John and Steph are great hosts and gave us a homely welcome with coffee and cake. We stayed for four nights in the Annex. Very clean and roomy with great facilities. A variation of tea and coffee with biscuits and fresh milk in the fridge. Lovely bathroom with very fluffy shower and hand towels. Toiletries supplied. The shower has great pressure with plenty of hot water. Heated towel rail to dry towels. Main room has plenty of storage space, plenty of coat hangers, heating and a cooling fan if needed. Large patio doors leading to the patio with table and chairs, and further on into the meadow, where there are sheep pigs and chickens. Breakfast was excellent. A choice of full English, Omelette's or Salmon, all with locally sourced meat and eggs. Jam and marmalade is homemade and offered along with toast, cereals, granola and fruit.

Absolutely everything Steph and John were so welcoming, even offered to take our bags to our room, which I felt was exceptional hospitality. The while establishment is so warm welcoming, relaxing, friendly I truly couldn't ask for a better place to stay in. We literally had everything we could wish for from a property to stay in. I would 100% be coming back to stay in the future and would highly recommend anyone else to have a stay

Hunters Croft is a lovely place to stay and we had a great room with nice en suite and views over the garden and fields. It is exceptionally clean and breakfasts are superb and John and Stephanie excel at telling you all you need to know about the New Forest area and will happily chat as much or as little as guests want to( which in our case was quite a lot ! ) It was nice at breakfast in the conservatory watching all the birds feeding directly outside and we even saw a deer feeding in the adjacent field one evening so take binoculars as nature all around.

A car is def needed for getting around the area and a small grass roundabout in middle of drive makes manouvering a bit tight if you're last guest back but we still managed okay.
