Staff were very friendly and the food available at the pub was fantastic.

Low ceilings / door frames. No ventilation in the room, so it ended up very hot and humid overnight. Windows didn’t seem to open. Fan was provided but it didn’t really cool the room.

The staff in the evening were great Thanks Sammy you made the atmosphere great

I would like them to say only continental breakfast when booking , it just says bed and breakfast The chicken and smoked streaky bacon sandwich I had was just processed mix like you get from the co-op not a bit of bacon in sight, my wife had the prawns and she said they were good . Payed extra for full English but that was like a child's portion

The situation, pub atmosphere. Quirky rooms. Good staff. Not a plastic hotel chain

Needs a bit of TLC, clean but a little worn around the edges. Poor breakfast, our friend's eggs benedict were good but the full English was inedible. Good quality ingredients are spoilt by the huge amounts of salt.

The high street location was good,parking was good too. The room was quite well appointed. Bed was very comfy and we both slept well during our stay. Staff were friendly and polite.

The photos on Booking.com/Google Images,led us to believe that despite being an old building,the inside was well lit and quite modern. In reality the amount of dark wood and beams made the downstairs, along with dim lighting,and some lighing not switched on,made the seating areas and bar seem dark and dated,and in need of a refresh/refurbish. Room 5 was a nice room,was clean but could do with a table and chair for all purpose use,and a shelf in the bathroom to put wash kit on.

The family room was spacious, clean and had everything we possibly needed.

No lift, but this is a listed building so understand why.

excellent hotel amazing location housekeepers could not fault room cleaned vey day, my only fault staff concentrated on bar side of it check in was a little bit of a let down nothing explained, breakfast did not eat as again no times given I had to ask how I entered the building of a night again basic check in and this frustrated me as the rest of the experience what top level, if they paid more attention to the hotel side the scores would all be a 10..... I do have to mention the housekeeping side was excellent attention to detail 100% I will rebook again looking to go back Dec

Check in some staff very standoffish even when you queue at the bar regulars get served 1st

Very pleased with the room, staff, location and parking etc.

The cups are not suitable for drinking hot drinks!! This was a real inconvenience. The handle is very small for the size and weight of the cup when full with hot liquid. To avoid being scalded, I had to hold the cup with a towel. Due to the fact that there is no shower curtain, the only way to take a shower without having to mop the floor afterwards, is to sit in the bath. I prefer to stand when having a shower.

The staff were exceptionally pleasant and cheerful and helpful. The evening meal was superb and very much above normal pub grub. Superb. In the morning my husband had the full English breakfast and I had eggs Florentine and both meals were excellent. The room was very large and included an office chair and table and a comfortable settee. Bathroom very clean and roomy.

Check in was 3pm but we had to wait as room wasn't ready and eventually I had to ask if our room was ready as someone else was checked in while we were sitting waiting in the bar but we were supplied with a bottle of chilled water.

Nice atmosphere and very friendly very accommodating

Great location. Plenty of restaurants nearby if you do not like the hotel menu.
