Busby Hotel

I was attending a wedding at the hotel, and there were no problems with the accommodation or the wedding reception, Some of the guests returning to their rooms at the end of the function were very noisy, but that is outwith your control. The evening meal on the date of arrival and the breakfasts on subsequent days were very good.

No significant problems or concerns. Some coat pegs on the wall behind the room door (when opened) would be very useful. A wire tray in the shower for guest's shampoo etc would also be useful. It was also difficult to fill the kettle because of the sink and tap design.

The staff was very nice and gave us useful contact details of a taxi company that was able to get us to and bring us back from a concert. The place was quiet. Easy to go to Glasgow during the day as the train station is nearby (less than 10 min walking distance) but might be more difficult at night. Every thing was spotless clean. Bed was confortable. Breakfast was good. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again.

Early check-in possible 2 hours before is quite expansive (£20).

Nice friendly staff with comfortable and clean surroundings with easy access to railway station and 20 mins into Glasgow Central. Food was very good but could have had fruit salad and yoghurt selections, but overall very good.

Not a lot really apart from the terrace which could have been better, but realise space is an issue. The steps down could be a bit dangerous for people with poor vision, and the lack of food selection in the afternoon, but again still good.

Love the overall experience. We were greeted by Sarah at Reception, and she was outstanding. I've never had such a warmer welcome and so passionate about the hotel that she is definitely an asset. The suite we stayed in was lovely had a great spa bath. The food and service were amazing dinner was delicious and so was the buffet breakfast. Would highly recommend it's a beauty hotel with top class staff who couldn't have been nicer.

Everything was great and spotless couldn't fault the place.

The reception staff could not have been more helpful, from getting there after a long journey and helping us to our room to ensuring that we got breakfast even though we were a little late coming down for it in the morning-wonderful, chatty and made us feel at ease. Especially important as this was the first time away with our 3 month old baby so thank you! The catering and bar staff could not do more to make sure we were comfortable also, again especially important as just getting used to social gatherings whilst ensuring our little one was cared for and happy. The cleaners were brilliant also, always making sure we had plenty of fresh towels and bins for nappies in our beautifully prepared room!

We booked a room for a wedding. We got given the Kelvin suite, it was amazing with lots of space and an amazing bathroom. The breakfast in the morning was a buffet breakfast with choice of continental and hot food with every choice!!

One of the bar staff at the wedding in the function suite was rather unhappy serving everyone and moaning that everyone was too drunk to be served. Gave was tripping her from the moment we all arrived in the function hall for the meal. Apart from that, the bar staff at the small bar in the area we waiting in between was a lovely man!

Absolutely Superb. First time at the hotel, and it did not disappoint. The room was great..TV by the bath, the walk-in shower was incredible. Ate in the restaurant, which was very good. Staff were superb from reception to the evening meal to the two girls at breakfast. We have a habit of searching for great hotels just off the main route, and this one can be added to the list. Thank you for a great stay.

The wedding venue was lovely. Food was amazing. The showers were so powerful and loved the blackout curtains.. you didn't have a clue what time it was when you woke up lol

When we got there the receptionist had abit of an attitude and wasn't very welcoming. Her shift changed about 3 and the receptionist then couldn't have been any nicer.. and on check out the receptionist was also lovely.. shame there's always one member of the team that let's the rest Down.

The staff are the biggest highlight! Everyone was so lovely and happy to have a chat The breakfast was delicious and the room was comfy and clean 😊

Not really a dislike but it would be handy if guests could purchase drinks etc after the bar shuts. There was a note in the room about a mini bar but we couldn’t find it. Would be handy if we could have brought some water/ small bottles of drinks from reception as there is no shop close by, we arrived back to the hotel late and were caught short.

The staff where friendly and attentive, I particularly liked that the receptionist rang half an hour after i arrived to see if everything was in order and if id had settled in, Food was good, everything looked new and well kept.

Not really a dislike more an observation. I had the fillet steak which was £28 and excellent, it only came with a mushroom, sauce and tomato, chips vegetables and onion rings were extra, not a problem in itself other than there was too much which meant a lot of wastage, id rather paid more and got chips and added rings (there was about 10)and vegetables if required
