Well I am very familiar with the hotel as I used to live round the corner before I moved to England so to me it was like coming home 🥹. This is a 2 star hotel with the service of a 5 star. The staff bent over backwards to help, from housekeeping to bar staff to reception and the food was absolutely delicious. Always served within 10 minutes of ordering, to my room and always hot. I was travelling solo this time so had everything to my room which I’m not even sure if they did room service but they were so accommodating with me. It was a very hot week when I was there and they were more than happy to bring jugs of ice to my room for my drinks anytime I asked. Even the night ported would go to the kitchen and get it for me after 10pm. No frills rooms but spotlessly clean and beds and pillows so comfy. Lovely bathroom. I have no criticism of this hotel at all. Thank you Burnside Hotel for making my trip back home so comfortable.

Nothing apart from the black and silver decor in the rooms, very 80’s 😆. That’s the only thing I can think of.

Location not too far from J2 of M74 and proximity to a rail station for Glasgow Central. Staff were very friendly and the hotel & rooms very clean, bathroom & shower particularly excellent. Breakfast at £8.95 was superb. Train to Glasgow was only £2.90 return and the hotel has a car park, located in a nice residential area. Would definitely use this hotel again.

Only minus in a twin room was that the mattress was a little lumpy, however it was very clean with mattress & pillow protection. The hotel is next to the railway line but trains are slow and don't run overnight, so not an issue.

Accessible rooms and bar/restaurant.My husband can't manage stairs so this was perfect. Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. As soon as we arrived a staff member asked straight away did we need help with our bags and later in the restaurant made sure we had a suitable table. Excellent standards of cleanliness. We were only staying 2 nights, however the housekeeping staff were there every day to service our room and asked if we needed anything. Proximity to Burnside and great public transport links. You are only minutes walk from independent shops , cafes and restaurants and Tesco. Railway Station just a few minutes walk from the hotel and bus stops outside.Great car park always plentiful spaces for our family who live in the area and who came to pick us up.It has encouraged me to take my own car next time we visit.

Breakfast was very good, and set you up for the day. We only ate dinner once which was very kind of the staff to let us in by the skin of our teeth, time wise. Sleep was very comfortable. Impressed by the cleanliness of the rooms daily attention.

We were given room 1. Unfortunately we were very tired on the first night of our stay, and literally went straight to bed. The noise of people drinking outside our window and children running up and down the corridor was quite disturbing, as was an entry to our room by mistake around midnight. We did understand these thing do happen, overall that was the only downside of our stay.

The room was clean and perfectly sized for one person. There were a sufficient number of power outlets and the room came with a fan. The staff were all courteous and friendly, and the price was good given the proximity to Glasgow. I'd stay again!

The sink was detached from the wall, and there was no place to hang the hand-towel, meaning I had to awkwardly hang it off the loo roll holder. This wasn't a deal-breaker, though, and everything worked.

The staff were excellent and took note of the points we made about room no9 When we left this morning the girls were cleaning the rooms and as i was walking down the hall no 16 was in a terrible state with paper and all sorts on the floor. This is how a young couple had left it no16 you know who you were that vacated the room o. Sun the 4th September. Thankyou to the staff for a very comfortable stay.

The location was not near the Glasgow Union University were we attended a fuction. Had to wait quite a long time for a cab.

Everything was great including being able to get a drink to our room and delivered there for us. The room was clean and bathroom was spotless including shower. Was ver impressed.

The girl at check in her face was tripping her she was so miserable looking. I think a job like that needs a smiley person. Very noisy outside our bedroom from early morning they don’t seem to consider rooms 1-3 near the reception desk.

Clean, comfortable room on ground floor which suited blind partner. Reception always friendly, responsive and informative. Breakfast served with reasonable despatch. Shower was good.

No flat resting space for items on / near sink in en suite. Decor of largely v. dark purple/black and white made room look spartan. Vegetarian version of full Scottish breakfast was simply leaving out the sausage, bacon and haggis slice! Still unsure whether brown baps available for the warm egg roll.

All staff were polite and helpful throughout our stay. We had the Sunday lunch menu and the food was excellent. Great choice of drinks from the bar. Outside seating area was lovely in the sunshine. Seemed a popular setting for locals and visitors. 2 minute walk to the train station, accessible to all areas so great location for a quieter stay outside the city centre.

Rooms and bathrooms were nice - beds were firm and good. Windows could be opened which gave fresh air rather than the normal hotel odeur. We train was no problem at all as it did not run in night hours. We would say we had a tranquile and nice stay. Staff were lovely with personally prepared breakfast.

The hotel looks like baracks and seem very worn with a lot of deep mackground machine sounds.
