Our room was nice and big, bed very comfortable and couldn't hear any noise from the bar........the shower was pretty awesome too. Nice location close to a few shops and bars all within a few minutes walk. The staff were all very polite, helpful and smiling which always helps. We had breakfast included in our stay which was really good, and we had an evening meal at an extra cost which was also really good so would definitely recommend eating here even if not staying as a guest.

Limited parking however we managed to park in the archways so wasn't a problem for us. There was quite a lot of noise from the traffic as it is on a busy road but I wouldn't say that it would put us off staying here again.

Lovely hotel in a wonderful location. The bar/restaurant is a very welcoming space, food and drink available is fantastic and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was delicious and a great start to the day, and the room had everything that you could need, and was very comfortable & pleasant. For me, the highlight off the hotel is its staff and owners. Every single person was warm and friendly, and really made sure I was looked after. From what I could see, they had a great way with regulars. The people at the Castle Hotel are its best asset!

There wasn't anything I had an issue with - everything about my stay went far beyond what I expected. Hopefully I'll be back!

The breakfast was very good and there were many great options. The lunch there was exceptional as well. The attention of the managers and staff was really good. They helped us very much. The place is very comfortable and near beautiful places. It is three minutes walking from the bus stop and the coach stop and in the center of the town. The rooms were big and clean and they had facilities to make tea and coffee and always gave us very tasty biscuits. I loved everything. I highly recommend it.

There is nothing that I didn’t like there.

The best so far of the small hotels I've stayed at in recent years. I was upgraded on arrival, which was a nice surprise, although judging by the rest of the hotel my original room would probably have been just as immaculate and comfortable. All the people working at the Castle, from first to last, were friendly, helpful, and very attentive. I'm not the most demanding of guests but I wanted for nothing. Breakfast is lovely (and included in the room price, which isn't always the case in these days of watching the pennies). The Full English struck a great balance between "generous" and "overwhelming". The dinner menu had all the standard pub fare but also some more adventurous dishes, and there is a daily specials board. I'd have eaten there even if I weren't staying. The whole hotel was spotless and well cared-for - a labour of love in an historic building dating from the 18th Century. I would recommend wholeheartedly.

There was nothing I didn't like. The only thing I could venture as a downside is that Devizes is a small, old town and The Castle Hotel is central, meaning that they don't have much dedicated parking (the owners are quite open about this on the website). There are two large arches at the front (presumably, as an old coaching inn, where coaches turned in off the road), and these have a few car spaces on a first-come, first-served basis. I was able to park in one of these, but the alternative is municipal car parks.

Having called in for food several times in the past, I was happy to book a stay as I passed through Devizes for work. I had not imagined the quality of the stay would be so exceptional. The staff were excellent and could not do enough to help make the stay more friendly and welcoming. The twin-room booked for myself and a colleague had been upgraded to a family room, for free and without request, simply because it was available. Which was a real nice touch. The bar and the restaurant are excellent and the hotel itself is immaculate. There is a number of us that visit Devizes for work and we used to use a B&B up the road which has now closed. This will be our 'go-to' place from now on. Highly recommended.

There really was nothing at all to complain about.

Friendly staff, quick and informative check-in Good food both dinner & breakfast with all dietary dealt with. Were happy to accommodate with fresh milk for us to use in the room Managed to get on site car parking which made life a lot easier

Only a couple of very minor downsides was we overlooked the back courtyard and the extractor fan from the kitchen, a slightly strong cleaning product smell I found the bed slightly uncomfortable but these were very minor issues which didn't distract from an excellent stay

We were made to feel welcome from the minute we walked through the door. We have stayed in large expensive hotel chains that could learn a lesson in how to manage customers from the team on site. Room very good and clean, bed comfortable and breakfast was very good too. The vegetation sausage was the best my wife has ever tried. Price was good too. Devizes was a nice walk around on Sunday morning.

Ok it doesn't have a car park, but the one over the road is free from 6pm and charged after 10 so not really a problem. The road is a bit noisy, but it is on a road so that's only to be expected.

Friendliness of staff. Excellent meal and a chance to sample the local beer after so many years away. Good breakfast, and convenient for what we needed to do locally.

Although delightful and interesting for me the building has, through necessity of its history, stairs and little steps for the accommodation. Not so good for anyone with significant mobility problems (unless they have a hidden lift somewhere). My wife has onset of arthritis in her knees so we had to be a little careful on the stairs - but the stay was worth it!

The staff could not be more helpful here. To be honest, I’ve never experienced anything like this customer service. Also, they seemed to have excellent camaraderie, looking after each other in the background. My room was spotless, there was wifi throughout and they also had sky sports which was a bonus on play of weekend (in the bar not my room). The shower looked brand new and my single room still had a 3/4 sized bed which was nice. Breakfast was excellent and delivered on time. I would stay again.

Nothing, I only stayed for one day but liked everything I saw.

I arrived at the Castle Hotel on a very cold day to receive a very warm welcome and to find that I had been given a free upgrade as teh hotel was quiet. My room was warm when I entered it and had everything that I needed. It was very well decorated and the bathroom was lovely and had free shampoo, shower gel, soap and body lotion. The towels were lovely and fluffy. It was very quiet at night and I had a very good night's sleep in a very comfortable bed. I had to give in my breakfast order the night before with an approximate time of when I would want it. This worked very well and I had a very good breakfast. The staff that I met were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel is well located in Devizes and close to facilities and easy to find.

The fact that I was only staying one night but if I am in the area again I will certainly stay here and would not hesitate to recommend Castle Hotel to others.
