The Kings Arms Hotel

Very pleasant well appointed rooms - lovely to have a bath in my room & plenty of hot water! As we are all in our eighties we were delighted to have 'Courtyard Rooms' - no stairs & handy to unload the cars. A real bonus to have a connecting door with our friends. There was an excellent choice on the Breakfast menu - although we would have liked some fresh fruit to have been included . Staff were at all times friendly and helpful - especially on our first night with suggestions as to where we should go & how to get there!!!!!

We were disappointed with the Dinner Menu - just not suited to our personal tastes - especially the so-called Cheesecake!!!!!

The welcome, staff and room in general were good (really good size room and well furnished). Parking very easy and included for hotel guests. We only ate breakfast, which was good.

Small changes only..... In the room, I feel the main bedroom window needs a blind in addition to the curtains as the room gets light very easily due to distance between curtains and window (old building with thick walls). Main window would also benefit from frosting 2/3 so you can have the curtains open whilst dressing. Breakfast was good but a larger group was seated right next to us, which was a bit imposing when the rest of the dining space was empty.

Easy to find and a friendly welcome.

To be honest, this was a last minute booking as our original one didn’t work out. We liked our room, it was nice and quiet compared to some other guest’s experiences at the front of the hotel. However we did think it was REALLY expensive! Breakfast was indeed included but even so … And on the subject of breakfast - ours took half an hour to arrive. I appreciate it’s all freshly cooked to order but a cooked breakfast isn’t that complicated. On the plus side, tea and coffees arrived quickly and saved the day. We were visiting Melksham to attend a party so it’s unlikely we’ll be your way again. I’d give you an 8/10 because it was SO expensive and think for the price the breakfast could have been a bit more special. Staff all lovely and helpful.

Beautiful hotel, cozy rooms. Friendly staff. Great location to different sites. A couple of things to improve: the breakfast takes (very) long to prepare/serve (we waited 50 minutes!). Because of a bank holiday there were less or no deliveries. The bf was therefore not a full choice. Missing of yoghurt and avocados for instance. I found that quite unfortunate and not anticipated. Also the bar closes quite early as others commented earlier. As well as the restaurant. A late arrival will result in a diner elsewhere. Hope the hotel will do anything with the comments to improve and go for the 9. Furthermore a great experience.

Charming coach house type property. Room comfortable and roomy with few toiletry’s, coffee, tea and milk supplied in a flask. Good idea as hate small milk pots as never enough. Came as party of 8 and all approved. Excellent value as included breakfast and free parking. Staff very attentive.

Understand weather very cold lately but on our stay found very hot. Could not turn radiator down in room and with window open very noisy. Friends who had rear rooms did not have noise but also said too hot in room. Lunch menu thought was expensive for what we had as only wanted a snack as attending a party later. Simple ploughman’s or sandwiches would be good. Also lunch menu finished at 3 pm so our friends that arrived just after due to traffic had nothing to eat.

The Kings Arms is a lovely and cosy hotel. The staff are very welcoming and accomodating. We stayed for two nights and ate in the pub downstairs on one of the nights and the food was lovely, the service was fast and the staff were incredibly polite! The rooms are well decorated, the beds are comfy and it's incredibly quiet, the perfect combination for a good night's sleep!

There was a slight issue with the heating and hot water for a few hours which meant we couldn't have a hot shower ahead of our night out. However the manager couldn't have been more apologetic and accomodating as a result of this.

Beautiful room with a huge bed and a remarkable shower in the en suite. Across the yard from the hotel .... probably converted stables .... so peaceful. A great night's sleep.....

I went across to get some ice from the bar at 10.30pm and the whole place was shut. In darkness. They could have tapped on the door and asked if we wanted anything else. Poor customer service for the price. The breakfast was less than average. I wouldn't go in off the street for that .... A shame. Once served we were given no attention at all. Again, poor customer service.

the bath didn’t have a mat and was very slippery. so I was too scared to have a shower for fear of falling. the evening meal ok, but not much choice. The breakfast however was awful. I opted for the eggs Benedict. After sending the 1st one back because the eggs weren’t cooked another arrived. on trying it I literately had to spit it out. the Hollandaise sauce was made with hot salad cream. it was disgusting. so needless to say we just got up and left.

The breakfast was very enjoyable and offered a wide variety. Parking was onsite and very accessible . Room was very comfortable well stocked with tea, coffee etc. Lamps, radio. The surrounding area was very nice with nice touring options, walks. I would definitely stay again .

Bathroom was huge but had 1 tiny shelf. Difficult to find space for items. We found food and drink very expensive. Only one staff member was able to recommend things to do in the area.

I was not familiar with the area and wanted to visit Leacock Abbey. Found the Kings Arms on line and could not be more impressed. Well located just 10 mins from Leacock. The room was lovely , well equipped achieving the balance between practical, quirky and tasteful. Lovely touch to find the retro radio on when we entered . The hospitality tray was impressive, real coffee and a cafetière, standard and specialist teas, and home baked cake bites !! The bed was comfortable, shower room had everything necessary. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast menu offering more than the usual options. Very impressed with the whole set up.

Getting through the parking arch was a breath holding moment, but due to the age of the building this was understandable
