Really nice new room in the courtyard behind the pub. Very clean and comfortable. Great location right in the middle of town. Also its a great pub to have a drink. There are lots of places nearby to get breakfast. Staff dealt with issues quickly - even early in the morning.

These aren't criticisms - just things to remember for a visit. First you can park outside in the square overnight but you need to make sure you move your car by 8am - the pub has no car park (unsurprisingly given its location) . Second remember there is no breakfast included - you have a few cafes and a Weatherspoon's nearby though.

Comfortable room, plenty of room.. able to sit outside…clean & tidy … plenty of refreshments replenished easily.. Extra pillows, blankets & a fan… Family run the owners & staff made you feel like old friends

There was nothing not to like.., A car park would have been good but not possible because of site position However using the Parking App was easy & plenty of parking around

The room was very clean, had all the facilities I expected and was a good size. The shower and bathroom were excellent. The courtyard area outside is locked in the evening an provided the perfect secure storage for our bikes. The Pelican is located right in the centre of town so very easy to find places to eat and drink.

The pub closed really early and it was odd to come back to it closed at 7pm on a Friday night. There was only 1 velux window in our room and it was not working on our visit which meant a very hot and uncomfortable night in a sealed room. The staff did provide a fan but the lack of fresh air or air conditioning meant it would have just been moving hot air around.

Lovely rooms, we have now stayed in room 2 & 3. The courtyard garden us a lovely place to sit out, the rooms were comfortable, and clean, The roof light is a great addition, and is easily controlled, to allow ventilation, and to close the blind. The rooms are in the courtyard, with access through a separate outside door, so when the Pelican is closed, guests still have access.

They do not have car parking, but the car park across the road is free from 6pm to 8am, but I found that if you park in one of the Green Parking spaces in the area, they also have free parking 6pm to 8am, but then you have a free hour, till 9am, so you can have a extra hour in bed.!!

This property is in a great location. All shops, restaurants, cafe's etc wirhin walking distance. Good atmosphear, friendly pub and entertainment. Room wss very comfortable and private.

They do not provide breakfast so you do have to go elsewhere, although there is a lot of choice. There is an outside seating area but it is also for pub use, so can get noisy ouside the room if peope from the pub are in the garden.

A bijou style accommodation tastefully appointed. As the inn operated restricted hours it was a peaceful location and little annoying noise. Everything one needs provided. Central location in Devizes close to Avebury and Caen Hill Locks.

Lack of own parking spaces but pay car parks close by. Need coins!! The central location did attract some undesirable characters in the neighbourhood, but the accommodation was relatively secure.

Nothing really not to like. What really stood out was the shower, sheer luxury. A massive fixed rainfall shower with a separate hand held shower head. Breakfast was good too, courtesy of Greggs, just a stone throw away. Nice bacon rolls and croissants with great tasting fresh coffee. Positioned right on the market place, as well as a large indoor market, there's an outdoor market most days with amazing food on offer.

Nothing I can think of, all was good. Maybe the Pelican's pub hours could be a little longer but plenty more good pubs very close including a Wetherspoons & a gem of a real ale/craft ale pub called the Snuff Box just over the road.

Great location in the heart of Devizes. Cute little rooms at the back of the property with an out door sitting area. Pub was small & intimate with such friendly locals who made us feel like we had known them forever. Owner Nat & her family have owned the establishment for 70 odd years, and take pride in that fact. Overall, amazing & accommodating people. Highly recommend a stay at the Pelican Inn!

Amazing little rooms very quirky and very clean shower was amazing

It was a Friday and we got back from shopping at 5.45 to find the bar closed we waited half hour to see if staff was on a break but when we went back the bar was still shut and was disappointing as we didn’t have anything to drink in the room other than tea and coffee both of which I don’t drink so had to get ready and go straight out…. We wud av loved a couple of drinks in the pub connected to the rooms

I loved the town of Devizes, a small, walkable but vibrant living community that does not appear to center on tourism although there are some shops that seem oriented to occasional and discretionary spending items. The Pelican is on the main square. As other reviews have noted, the rooms are nicer than the outside might suggest. I was there when evening and morning heat was appreciated and there was no problem with being warm enough. There were readily available dinner and breakfast options on the square - good ones. We were there for market day, so couldn't park on the square, but there is a car park close by that we used. The bathroom was large and very well appointed with a spacious shower - no telephone booth shower where you knock your elbows on the enclosure while washing your hair.

This was not my experience, because the pub, which is the primary business of the Pelican, was closed the night we stayed, but we did wonder if it would have been noisy had the pub and beer garden been open. My actual experience the night we stayed was that it was quiet in the private courtyard. The WiFi is very public, probably for the pub. My traveling companion said it's sponsored by Heineken. I was just there for one night, so chose not to log on. My friend entered fake data to use it.
