The Peppermill Town house Hotel & Restaurant

The building and decor is lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful. Although it was a single, there was plenty of room and the bed was so comfy!

The 2 flights of stairs to the room! And I was told it would be quiet, but 2 floors up I could still here people in the bar until midnight. The room had no windows except a small one in the bathroom, so a fan would have made all the difference as it got stuffy.

Everything.

The only thing I didn’t like that there was no staff at the hotel at night. We left our room key and locked ourselves out at night. There was no one at the reception and we were worried that we will not be able to sleep in our room. Thankfully we found a master keys at the reception and open our room door.

central location, right in town. quirky building sympathetically updated. staff were friendly and helpful, rooms comfy and clean. air conditioning was a bonus in a warm period. despite having a room on the front of the building, the secondary glazing kept the noise out successfully.

nothing we disliked, however we felt it was quite pricey for room only, and would have expected breakfast to be included for the rate.

Great central location. Nice room with comfortable bed. We only stayed one night so did not use the lounge area but this looked very nice. Breakfast was excellent, very tasty.

There is no car parking at the hotel. Parking is available close by in the town, but payment online through a local council app / website / text message is a bit fiddly - and I am pretty tech-savvy. Bathroom was very small.

There’s no parking at the hotel. Public car parks 5 mins walk away were useful. The bar area has no atmosphere and doesn’t match the bedrooms which are amazing. We went out to drink locally instead.

The hotel was easy to find although parking in Devizes was a bit of a challenge. The room was on the top floor which involved climbing some quite steep staircases, but it is an old building so is what we expected. The room was very clean and comfortable, with my wife commenting that the bed was the most comfortable she had slept in. Breakfast was served in the restaurant and was excellent. All cooked to order and the full English lived up to expectations. All in all, a lovely short break stay!

Room upgraded so placed in double room - it was excellent, a good size with everything you would expect and a couple of things you wouldn't. Bed comfortable, aircon quiet, bath robes provided. I arrived by bicycle, which was pretty muddy. The staff were very helpful in storing it for me overnight, No problems at all. Recommended.

The location of the hotel is excellent, right in the centre of Devizes. The restaurant was fabulous, service and food was great and we had a lovely table. We stayed in the Bridal Suite and it was honestly the best night's sleep I have had in a long time.

The inside bar wasn't open and we had to get drinks from the hatch in the beer garden. However, the staff were polite, helpful and informative so it didn't take away from our evening.

Location very convenient as attending wedding nearby. Staff very friendly, breakfast excellent. Room one of the best we have stayed in. Really appreciated being able to access room early too.

Not much to say really. The only thing I could be picky about is no ordinary English breakfast tea sachets in room. But then maybe I should have asked!!

Great location. Beautifully furnished room with plenty of space. Comfortable bed and linen, lovely shower. Two small sitting rooms for a change of scene. Friendly and efficient staff. Faced onto the road but minimal noise. Good meal in the restaurant in the evening.

Only downside is no dedicated car park, but we parked in Station Road nearby. Can pre-book parking tickets on line. Only £4.50 per day. Did not detract from our stay.
