The Residence @ Jaipur

We had to leave early for a planned hike, checkout was swift no key drop or any other formalities. Location is close to a couple of good hiking spots, place had a decent Indian restaurant however we arrived at midnight so had no time to try food. Room was spacious, although no step-free access for luggage or any other needs. Parking was free onsite, not covered but ample spaces. Place is offbeat so quite secure I would say.

Thankfully I read the reviews after I booked rather than before. We booked in last minute, an hour before we arrived and we were early for check in but we were welcomed in and luckily they had a clean room ready so we were able to go straight in. The room was very clean and warm, we had hot water on demand, I know a couple of reviews stated they had issues but we had 4 showers and a bath between the 3 of us and the water was perfect each time. Room was very clean with a working tv, kettle and WiFi. We had dinner downstairs and the food, staff and service was lovely. The price was great.

The rooms were basic but recently refurbished, clean and comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel doesn't offer breakfast but this wasn't a problem for us as we were touring Yorkshire on motorbikes so got breakfast while out and about. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they let us park the bikes round the back out of sight so much me secure. Great location for what we were doing and the food in the restaurant was very good for an evening meal. You wouldn't have known you were above a restaurant when in the room.

The rooms were quite warm but the weather was unseasonably warm when we were there. The door locks were a bit worn and tired but that is really nitpicking.

There was no breakfast but that was made clear beforehand so was not an issue. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made sure there was a table available for us for both evening meals because we were staying at the property.

There was some noise from the road outside, which would be drastically reduced if the windows were double glazed. The hot tap in the bathroom was non-UK standard and was turned on by twisting it the opposite way to the cold tap, although we found this in 2 of the other hotels in Yorkshire.

The room was really big, beds were comfortable, great having an Indian restaurant just below as I order food and they brought it to my room with plates, cutlery, etc. The service was great and really friendly.

They had recently put new carpets into the room and a but 3xtra carpet was by the door so the door was a bit hard to shut as pulling over the carpet but it did close and lock, everything else was great.

Fantastic overnight stay with plenty of room for the children. We managed to check in at the time we wanted with help from the kind, polite staff to manage the bus into York city centre. Nothing was too much trouble and we would definitely visit again.

a first class all round stay from welcome to services. love the fact that under my room I can go for one of the tastiest meals in Yorkshire. if you love a great curry come here.

needs a little tidy up out back but I understand it’s a job in progress.

Very good value for your money and the room was very spacious and very clean. Only spent one night as was travelling onwards but was definitely worth the rest.

Nothing to complain about at all.

Absolutely loved our overnight stay. 3 couples ( siblings) age range 53-63. Rooms were clean, staff were very efficient and friendly, couldn’t really fault the place. Food was excellent too. Great place, highly recommend to anyone. We’re going to make it an annual get together for the family. Many thanks to everyone at Jaipur, regards the Spring/ Flynn family 👍🏼

Room was spotless, no breakfast on site, but a wetherspoons within a short drive. plenty of free parking and good access to A19. was quoted £30 for taxi into York so used the part and ride nearby. £10 for a 5 adult day pass.
