Holiday Inn Farnborough, an IHG Hotel

The breakfast and food in general was excellent so a thumbs up for chefs Steve and Aaron. We had four different meals from the restaurant and every one was delicious, good proportions and well presented. Also staff members Junel, Lily and Chelsea were exceedingly helpful, cheerful and professional. We would definitely stay there again.

There wasn't much to do at the location but Winchester and Windsor for Castle and Lego land were around 35 to 40 minutes away. We initially chose this hotel because we've stayed in Holiday Inns before and been satisfied. We visited Farnborough for the British Motor Show.

Great accommodation, the hotel was huge. The breakfast was amazing multiple options sadly the area near the utensils needed cleaning but this was mainly down to other customers not cleaning up after themselves. The room was great, had a twin room and a nice view, spacious room.

The hotel was huge possibly a bit more signage around we were on the 4th floor and couldn't find easy access to the elevator from the dining room. Maybe napkins near the utensils so the messy customers can tidy up after themselves. Apart from that absolutely amazing staff and a great location.

Garden area to sit and enjoy a relaxing drink in the sunshine Dinner: Portions quite small but food presented well and very tasty. Breakfast: Lots of choice available and able to request freshly poached eggs. Importantly, the coffee and tea quality was second to none.

Bar area was too cold and draughty from all the open doors both in the actual bar area and in the area close to reception where the TV is located to be able to sit and enjoy a drink into the evening for any length of time. The Bar Lighting in the evening was far too bright/stark to help you relax. Gave up and went back to room. Only one set of towels in the bathroom of a 2-person room. Needed to find the other set in the closet. (Not welcoming).

I was at a dinner at the Aviator and didn’t want to pay £200 for a room there. The Holiday Inn was 5 minutes walk away and less than half the price so I booked, expecting a mid-range average stop. The staff were great, hugely friendly and helpful. There were no less than 8 usb ports in my room. Very comfortable bed and an excellent breakfast the next morning. The only one detractor was the panoramic view of a busy roundabout when I opened the curtains in the morning, but you can’t have everything :)

For the price, I couldn’t fault it.

The room was generally very clean, the bed and bathroom especially so. We had a mini suite, which had a seating area and bedroom area, each of which had a decent sized TV. There were a few stains to the settee in the seating area but I guess that would happen over time. We felt very comfortable in the room. The shower was excellent, very easy to use. Plenty of hot water and a powerful spray. The breakfast was very good, with a good selection of cereals, fruits and cooked. Everything cooked was freshly prepared and looked appetising. The staff were lovely. Very friendly and helpful and they seemed to like what they were doing (sometimes hotel staff can come across as very fed up, but they all seemed genuinely happy). We were there for the British Motor Show, which was less than a 10 minute walk away, so was perfectly located for us.

Nothing that detracted too much from the pleasure of our stay, but there are a few things that could be improved. The complimentary mini bar was empty on arrival and did not get restocked during our stay. All the staff were lovely. Very polite and friendly, but on the whole it felt like the hotel was understaffed. This resulted in a few things being rushed (e.g. slightly wrong food order) or not being done (e.g. the mini bar being restocked), and one night they weren't able to staff the restaurant, which meant we had to eat in the bar.

Nice spacious and clean

Very small bathroom. Booked a large bed due to my husband’s hip discomfort but was given a small double. This was rectified upon request (I had to show my booking was for a larger bed) but got the feeling (by the supervisor who helped the receptionist with the request) that I was being difficult. Perhaps the receptionist made a mistake and she was unhappy with her but it felt a bit uncomfortable.

The meals were excellent, value for money, and the staff were very supportive, as my wife had fallen the previous week and had difficulty using the stairs to our room, so we were able to use the chairlift. This is the second year we have stayed and will do so again when in the area. The location was ideal as I was competing at the National Rifle Range at Bisley on the weekend.

Breakfast was very good.Lots of choice tho large plates were cool for hot food. Bacon and sausages were delicious. Staff accommodating for a large group.

We had dinner on 1st night. Booked table. We were in dining room for one hour before our food was served.Order was slow to be taken then 35 mins to service. Reasonably happy with food. I had a starter of garlic mushrooms on toast. It was very dry with no spread on toast and no flavour at all to the mushrooms.Needless to say, we were so hungry when the food did arrive that it got wolfed down anyway.

we were in the old part of the hotel which was beautiful with some lovely features. The hotel communal areas and our room were immaculate. we ate both nights at the hotel and the food was good quality and service was very good.

It wasn’t so much something that I didn’t like about the property but it would have been nice to have an adult only area in the restaurant as there were a number of children running around and parents shouting - just spoiled the atmosphere a little.

A totally superb stay from start to finish. Staff were super efficient and friendly. Being coeliac makes it difficult when it comes to ordering meals. The staff and the chef did a first class job in making sure the meals were suitable for me. I felt totally safe knowing that my dietary needs were met. Well done to a great team!

Everything was perfect, no complaints from me.
