We have stay here before and liked it. Firstly they are very dog friendly, which we wanted. The staff, location, and food/drink were excellent. We had dinner in most nights and loved every meal - good food and plentiful. ALL the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for days out to the forsts, Holkham and Brancaster - Dog loved it. There is a village common just a short walk up the road at Great Cressingham which perfect for early morning or late night doggie walks. Rooms are extremely good value.

This really isn't really a dislike as such. The cost of the room is very good value and that's because the accommodation is a little tired. BUT having said that with a dog you don't want pristine clean and white surfaces for muddy paws to mess up. However, there are still things and the owners could do/ should do. I would suggest that they conduct an audit of the premises on a regular basis - our room had a metre long crack in the bedroom wall next the bathroomand the bathroom fan (all with other rooms) sounded like a jumbo jet taking off on start up. I am surprised that these hadn't been noticed by staff and dealt with .

Excellent breakfast and lots of choice for cooked options. fresh fruit too if you wanted it which is good room comfortable and quiet and plenty of ground floor rooms characterful bar with good choice of beers/ciders. Very meaty options for dinner including local steaks ( cooked as requested) but several choices also for vegetarians. didn't get to try puddings as starters and mains so generous

Background Musak over breakfast ...

The room was spacious, well appointed and quiet, despite being next to the car park entrance. Everything worked! The bar and restaurant was very busy at lunch time because it was a bank holiday so we did not eat lunch. However, we did arrive back at the hotel in time for an evening meal, which was excellent. The breakfast was included and was very good, although it was table service only and I prefer a buffet for cereals and juices etc. There was a very well-stocked bar with a selection of craft ales and whiskies. The wine list was good value too. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The bar was full (exaggeration of course) of aggressive looking dogs at lunch time (at least, I think they looked aggressive). There were many flies in the restaurant, which was particularly annoying while trying to keep them away from our food.

They had a large selection of breakfasts and were happy to accommodate requests e.g. gluten free bread. The room was very large and was exceptionally clean. The breakfasts and evening meals were of a very good quality. The shower over the bath was good. The staff were very welcoming and helpful.

The bathroom although very clean could do with a little updating. I have dietary requirements and I found the evening meals limited, though they would have changed items within a meal.

Amazing old village pub that just oozes charm. The bar area was snug, cosy and full of personality with a very large selection of drinks - highly recommended their own ale, Windy Miller. Staff extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The restaurant was large yet had a cosy intimate feel to it and the food was excellent. Our room (room 1) was large with plenty of room to spread out. Comfortable bed, well equipped room and bathroom. All in all a gem of a place that we would definitely go back to.

Nothing - everything to our complete satisfaction

Breakfast was really good, more than enough eat, well presented by very friendly staff. Plenty of choice for the evening meal at prices less than expected which meant value for money. Once again, really friendly staff. We had Room 1, no faults, comfy large bed, 2 comfy chairs for an hour with the telly before bed.

Coffee for breakfast was in small cups, but with no problem for a refill. I would have preferred a Cafetiere or a pot of coffee. Didn't particularly like the chips served with the evening meal, an option of skinny fries would be good.

The rooms were very big, clean and quiet. Being a dog friendly hotel was great. Food was lovely, staff were friendly and couldn't do enough. Good choice for breakfast and the food was nice.

Gets very busy at the weekends, which is understandable. People may not like the idea of the location, as there are no other facilities in the immediate area, so you need to drive to places, but it suited us

The greeting we Recieved on arrival was very professional with a hint of individualaltty. Even the dogs were greeted the room we had was very clean and spacious and airy bed was comfortable think I would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't had broken ribs at time. When we went for a evening meal the dogs were allowed to accompany us and were spoken to by the staff The food was good dispite being short staffed had a slight problem but it was soon sorted Lovely outside space to exercise dogs ideal after a long journey Well Done

Nothing from arriving to the time we left were treated as individuals and dealt with in a very professional manner

Lovely olde world atmosphere...but warm and welcoming. Comfortable beds and light bright bathroom, spotlessly clean. Excellent breakfast with a wide choice. We also had dinner there with our son for his birthday. Again a good menu, plenty of choice for vegetarians and great service. All in a lovely rural setting and lots of parking space.

Stuffy bedroom despite turning off the rads and opening windows. The furniture is big and dark, lighting in the room is all lamps and quite dim...could benefit from a central light.

The food generally was good. The staff were friendly and helpful. My "Executive" room was large and pleasant. There was a good hot shower. Both car parks, situated at rear and opposite the Inn were spacious. I had no concerns re safety/security. It was also very very quiet. I'd certainly stay again. It was well situated for bird watching in The Brecks.

Really no complaints, though I had to ask for a second cup of coffee each breakfast!
