The rooms have been recently renovated and look just lovely. Really special. In fact, I think that the photos online don't do them justice. The manager and staff were great, as was the cleaning lady the next morning who told me all about Rose Hill in Sowerby Bridge, as we were from Australia and wanted to find out more about the area because that was where our ancestors were from in the 1800s!! Great experience. Very pretty area of Yorkshire, with so much history, and beautiful green hills in the background. Did a lovely walk along the canal/river.

The breakfast was left in a beautifully presented basket outside our doors. However, I thought the items weren't 100% nutritious - there was a generous supply of fruit, and a little tub of oats to which you added hot water (?) but everything else was sort of sweet stuff not so good for you. Don't know how to make that better, though. We would have loved to have had dinner there the night before but that night the restaurant was closed for a staff function. It was a Sunday night and places nearby were nearly all closed!!! Beware of Sunday nights. Other than that I loved Lion Pub and Grill.

It was a large room and very nicely decorated. The pub itself is lovely and the food very tasty. I had really nice pancakes for breakfast too. The staff were very helpful and friendly too which always makes a big difference!

Nothing major at all! The mirror in the bathroom was small and too high for me to see in but it wasn't a big deal and if I was being picky I'd have liked a shelf above the sink as it's the fancy period kind where you couldn't put your toothpaste or toiletries on the edge. But honestly it was all great and that's being very picky 😆

nicely refurbished in characterful way. very good cooked breakfast as it was a weekend but understand it is a hamper mid week which I wouldn’t have been happy with. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Great location for us as we were attending a nearby function.

Window didn’t close properly and as we were on the front which faces a rather busy road this meant there was traffic noise. Also needs another bedside table for both sides of bed and a shelf in the bathroom. Stair were fine for us but for our elderly mum the narrow stairs needed a handrail. We still had a comfortable stay though.

I really enjoyed my stay here and it totally exceeded my expectations. The staff were all exceptional and made us feel really welcome from the moment we walked in. The whole restaurant and B&B was immaculate and stylish. Our room was very cosy and clean and had a lovely little selection of teas, coffees, biscuits and hot chocolates. The room was really quiet and stayed lovely and warm and was absolutely spotless! We enjoyed a breakfast hamper to wake up to each morning as the restaurant opens after 4pm on a weekday which was really convenient and the host was brilliant and very communicative giving local tips which was fabulous.

There's literally nothing we disliked!

The room was absolutely beautiful, very clean and nicely decorated. It was nice and quiet in the room which was a lovely surprise because sometimes in accommodation that's above a pub you can hear a lot of the noises from downstairs in the bar but we couldn't hear anything which was lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful and when checked in we felt very relaxed and comfortable. We both said we would definitely book and stay again we liked it that much.

The room was a little cold temperature wise.

The staff was really helpful and supportive, nothing was to much for them. The young staff in the bar area showed manners and service above there years. The kitchen staff provied exceptional quality of food which was full of flavour and presented well. The domestic staff maintain a high standard of cleanliness and presentation of the rooms/sleeping areas. The owner has gone to exceptional effort to provide a oldie feel to the room maintaining a feeling of the 200 year history of this building handcrafted furniture.

Maybe provide mugs aswell as cups and saucers. There is nothing that we didnt like.

it was a lovely stay, food is absolutely incredible and room was comfortable! breakfast was left every morning, could fault the service at all.

my only criticism which i am not marking them down for is window in kitchen area and ensuite don't shut properly. didn't really effect me as the room was nice and warm, however a little chilly coming out of the shower,

Lovely room, very comfortable and really quiet even though our room looked over the main road. Bed was very comfortable too.

Breakfast service was very slow, took 20 minutes to take our order and a further 20-25 minutes to cook the food. We saw tables getting their food before us even though we ordered a good 10 minutes before them. Also breakfast doesn't start until 10am which we found to be very latem

Staff are extremely attentive and welcoming. Any special requests were dealt with without hesitation and they all really seemed to care. Very busy night in bar and restaurant but service was excellent throughout. Good atmosphere, dog friendly and delicious food. Comfy bed, fluffy towels and the apartment was adequately equipped, very spacious and clean.

Could do with some storage space in bathroom, particularly a little shelf or basket in shower would be handy. No bedside lights and coffee table. We felt the fans from the kitchen were too noisy to open a window which made the room very hot despite it being October.

The room was furnished and decorated well. It was also clean and functional.

We had Room 2 which was right next to a set of traffic lights and the main road. It was SO noisy we couldn’t sleep, even with the windows shut which made it very hot. It was very much overpriced considering we weren’t able to sleep.
