Haley's Hotel

A comfortable, warm hotel in a convenient location just off the Otley Road in Headingley. Reception staff were very welcoming. The bedroom had been recently renovated. Tea and coffee making facilities, a TV set, ironing board and trouser press were available. The hotel offered a good range of cooked breakfast and continental breakfast items.

I stayed here to attend the cricket test. It is a short walk from the ground with plenty of restaurants and pubs in close proximity, yet the hotel is in a very quiet leafy street. I had a lovely bright and fresh room looking out to the trees. The bed was really comfortable and the en-suite large and spotless. A very good full breakfast was included and for anyone with a car, there is amply on-site parking. Finally, I couldn't speak more highly of the staff. Right from the start they were friendly and helpful, but when I got sick during my stay (no fault of the hotel), the staff went out of their way to assist me and to ensure my wellbeing. This is an exceptional hotel that I highly recommend.

This hotel is the best I have stayed in for a long time. Elegant and grand but homely is hard to pull off, but they manage it in style! Debbie in housekeeping keeps the place sparking and our room was wonderful, in the turret, spotless cool and comfortable, with a huge bath. Luxury! Paul was so welcoming at our first breakfast and made sure that the rest of our stay just got better and better. He looked after me and the client who visited me daily so that we could work, keeping us hydrated with coffee and iced water. Natalia and Debbie on reception were wonderful and in the dining room for a superb breakfast Paul was there again with Melvyn. This hotel knows how to make you welcome. We will be back. If only we could have this standard of hospitality wherever we went! Well done all the team at Haleys!

Excellent breakfast, self-service buffet style, fleshly cooked, and beautifully presented. Extremely clean and well presented hotel with excellent service and value for money. Great location for Headingly stadium and on a bus route straight into central Leeds. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Lovely atmosphere of Victorian splenda, situated in a quiet residential area just off the busy Otley road area, with pleasant gardens to sit in. This was our second visit, and we will be back again.

Would have to be very picky to find something we don't like, maybe the loose trim on the shower, but it's hard to find fault.

Haley's is a lovely, traditional style, friendly hotel. The breakfast is delicious, fresh and good quality. The family room is comfortable, spacious and quiet. There is plenty of off-street parking. This was our second stay at Hayley's because it is perfectly located for Headingley cricket ground, and is a family friendly hotel.

Being on the top floor it was noticeably hotter than the ground floor. We had a fan in the room but it was insufficient to help cool the bedroom. I think at least 2 fans or an air con unit would be better, as it isn't possible to open the windows an wider. Sadly the heat in the room meant none of us slept well, and one of the children was ill from the heat. On that note, there was only 1 toilet roll in the room so I had to leave my poorly child to search the hotel for appropriate resources. I finally found a member of staff and explained the situation, so they gave me more toilet rolls.

Very well organised from the start. Received confirmation by email straight away and my request for twin beds was acknowledged and that staff would do their best to accommodate this if possible. Very reasonably priced and in the location I wanted. Free parking on site and set off a main road in a leafy suburban area. We couldn't fault the buffet style breakfast, served in the main part of the hotel, piping hot, lots of choice and good quality ingredients well cooked. Percolated coffee was lovely and staff friendly,nothing was a bother

On our arrival, we were shown to a separate building with a top floor room, which included a studio kitchen. We did have the twin beds I requested, but as it was more dated we did feel it was a shame we were not in the main hotel which seemed more luxurious. This side building did have loads of character and although decor was dated it was warm and comfortable and well equipped. The building seemed to have several studio apartments within it, but the outside main communal door didn't lock, which I didnt feel was quite as secure as I would have liked, even though our top floop entrance did have a secure lock and key especially as it is set off the main road in a leafy area. We were only given one key for two people.

Absolutely everything about this hotel is great. From the welcoming receptionist to the cheerful chap on breakfast duty, not forgetting his super efficient housekeeping wife. A true gem of old English comfort and ambience. Situated just up a side road off the main street, exceptionally quiet location despite busy pubs and restaurants just a short walk away. The room was large and comfortable. Seating area by the window, large bathroom, with bath and separate walk-in shower. Tea and coffee making in the room too. All the usual facilities, TV, hairdryer etc. Breakfast is superb. Self-service and as much as you can possibly eat. Full english and continental available. Nothing too much trouble. A comfortable airy lounge area for a night cap, if required from the small hotel bar. Large off-street safe car park available as well. Leave the car, bars and restaurants are a short walk away. Great location for the rugby and cricket grounds.

Nothing really, even a lack of hot water on one night due to a boiler fault did not spoil our stay.

Liked the aesthetics of the building as you drive up-to it, also the grandeur carried on when entering the building, the whole place had that old charm about it. The staff were helpful and polite. The buffet breakfast was great with a wide variety of choice both hot and cold, buffets always sets you up for the day. The parking on site is a bonus. The location was great in a quiet street , and only takes a couple of minutes to hit the pubs on the main high street.

Only the price, found it slightly expensive compared to other rooms of similar size and facilities in other hotels with the same star rating

What a breath of fresh air this establishment is, honestly, great location, beautiful listed building that served at such a pleasant experience. Staff just emanated friendliness with every interaction. Hospitality at its best. The room and facilities were all well cared for. And your able to sit out on the front lawn and watch the sun set through the trees. The attentiveness of the host was impeccable. This is someone who believes in what they do and they enjoy it, which creates an atmosphere of itself. My only regret is I slept through my breakfast and had had to shoot off early for an appointment. If and when I'm in Leeds again, i will be staying here and longer than a single night to soak up more of that great weekend experience! Thank you to all of the staff!

We booked 5 rooms and all of them were lovely - comfortable and clean. The breakfast was excellent and lots of it. The location, on a lovely quiet leafy road was a welcome change from the bustle of Otley Road. The best thing was the friendly and accommodating attitude of the staff; the night porter on reception was so helpful in providing towels when we came in soaked from the rain and let us use the bar - serving us drinks - until the early hours. A very special stay for our 40th wedding anniversary.
