Mimi's Hotel Soho

Booked this for it’s central location and close proximity to Ronnie Scott’s and theatres. We were in a cosy double with no window, our room was underground and felt a bit like being in a cabin on a boat!! Room was very ‘cosy’ as advertised, but it was well thought out and decorated, having everything we needed. Coffee machine, great shower, big comfy bed. Staff were really helpful and friendly. If you are claustrophobic or planning on spending lots of time in your room, it’s probably not the right choice for you, but if you’re just after somewhere in the heart of things as somewhere to lay your head for the night, it’s absolutely perfect.

I love the rooms for one person. Very good use for the small space. When I spend the occasional weekend in London I try to book this hotel. You can‘t get more central (in the middle of Soho, so perfect for a night out) and the rooms are so quiet I have to set multiple alarms to wake myself! Another point worth mentioning is definitely the bar! They really know what they are doing. They will cater to your taste and create drinks for you. And last but definitely not least high praise also goes out to the staff. Every single person I have encountered there is very helpful and so friendly. (Which is not really the norm in London hotels) Will definitely stay there again!

The staff were amazing, including the bar staff. So friendly, welcoming and helpful. The location is great - so close to fabulous pubs, restaurants, Chinatown, the tube and the Palace Theatre. It has a very charming, old world feel. It was nice to come home at night and have a nightcap or coffee in the bar on the ground floor.

The room, although beautiful, was on the small side but that is to be expected in London. The bathroom was larger than expected though. We had a street facing view and as you are in the heart of Soho's entertainment district, you can expect some noise during the night from patrons leaving nightclubs. We are in our late 50's and that did not worry us too much. Earplugs would help for light sleepers.

My room had no windows, but mainly I was there for sleeping so I did not mind. It was lovely and quiet and an extremely comfortable bed with very lovely bedding. As a woman travelling alone i always like to chat to the staff, and they could not have been more helpful and charming. The bathroom was spectacular and the shower sublime.

The teeny desk was not wide enough for my lap top, but it was not the end of the world, I worked on the bed.

The room was always clean, the amenities were great and the bed was very comfortable. Great quality linens and toiletries. Excellent location walking distance from everywhere and excelle staff. Nothing in particular. The room and bathroom were small but I expected this and only needed a comfortable, clean and well located hotel ti sleep because my days were extremely busy. Would definitely stay at this hotel again, when in London!

Location of the hotel being a short walk from Elizabeth Line Dean Street exit, and only a short walk to Soho, Chinatown, and Theatreland. Lots of places to eat and drink if one does not fancy its own Henson's Bar. The team behind the Henson's Bar on the ground floor made lovely cocktails, and the snacks I had were great. I would revisit the bar when I am in the area for certain. The air conditioning worked well when I had to bring down the temperature from 21degC to 18degC. The room might be small as advertised, however, it was fully functional and suited my needs for an overnight stay to go to the theatres, and for some nice meals. Great shower. Having no window meant it was quiet even when it was heaving outside with busy nightlife. There was no charge for left luggage if one arrived early, and I was pleasantly surprised to find my room being ready when I arrived at midday. Left luggage was charged at 10.00 GBP a piece after check-out, and I was informed about this when I enquired about early arrival and at check-in; which I thought was very reasonable.

The room listing in Booking.com mentioned a Nespresso machine, however, there was none. The room has no space for a desk, therefore, not really suitable for a work trip if one has to work with a laptop. Nowhere to put my own toiletry inside the shower.

I was a little worried after reading mixed reviews after booking this hotel for a night in London at the theatre for my wife's 40th birthday but can honestly say I wasn't disappointed. The room was clean, the bed was so comfortable. The location was central to everything which was great and meant we could go off and explore without too much hassle. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The entrance to the suites are on a Main Street which is fine in the day but are packed with people who are out drinking at night in the clubs, pubs and bars. It could be a little bit tricky to move people who are out drinking out the way so you can access the door.

The hotel is part of a pub, situated in the heart of Soho. You couldn't ask for a better location. The building itself is beautifully, and traditionally, decorated, and is lovely and clean. It feels like stepping back in time a little and has a touch of old-world decadence about it. The room was incredibly clean and the staff were incredibly professional and very friendly and helpful.

It's not something I didn't like but something to mind if you're booking here. I booked the smallest room, after previously staying in a small room in the Z hotel around the corner, and finding that ok. This one was different in that it really means small. If you have a cat, you'll have to book it in alone and train it to swing itself. Everything was there, in terms of decent sized bed, mirror, small shelf, bathroom etc but to open the door, no one else could stand in the space behind it. They'd have to sit on the bed or step into the bathroom. Two people could not use this room. It's not a criticism as I knew what I was booking. Just a warning to those looking for space for two people.
