The Mandrake

Great location close to Soho and Chinatown. Trendy hotel with live DJ performances on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays which we really enjoyed. Bar staff is very experienced mixing every cocktail you like. No breakfast buffet, but a la carte and of excellent quality. Overall friendly staff and a pleasant hotel to stay in

We had a terrace room which we found quite small with equipped with a queen size bed. For the price we paid a king size would be more in line. It is a trendy hotel very centrally located, but don't go here if you don't like noice because there are live DJ performances which can be annoying if you seek total silence.

We had a lovely stay at the Mandrake! The hotel is gorgeous, and in an amazing location for sightseeing in London. It is very hidden on the main street and felt quite exclusive. We loved coming back after a busy day to relax in such a beautiful setting. The terrace is stunning, it really felt like we were in a different country rather than central London! We had breakfast here each day, and some cocktails in the evening and we were in awe of the setting each time. The room is very comfortable and clean, with a beautiful bathroom. It is a little on the small side, but has everything you could need (we booked the smallest room so to be expected). And all of the staff that served us were excellent too, thank you.

As it is a small hotel and not open to the public Monday and Tuesday, there wasn’t much atmosphere in the bar and it was empty most times we considered getting a drink, however, this isn’t a big deal if you want a quiet evening, and you can guarantee getting a table. The breakfast was nice but nothing special considering the incredible surroundings you’re eating it in. When spending a lot on a luxury hotel, it would have also potentially been nice to be able to book some spa treatments - of course, this is of no fault of the hotel and there simply isn’t a spa, and we were aware of this before we booked. However, in hindsight, it is something we missed.

Loved the Hotel - an independent with great interior design - but may not be for everyone as some areas very dark. Location was great for us - near to theatres and great restaurants. The staff were excellent!

Shame the bar isn't open after 11pm on a Monday or Tuesday after an evening out it would be nice to relax in hotel bar - most hotel bars close to the public at 11pm but not to residents!! Our bathroom floor could have been cleaner. Restaurant also not open Monday/Tuesday with the exception of breakfast.

this property is one of a kind with unique art, style and decor. interesting and edgy decor throughout. our room was fairly large, comfy bed and pillows. location awesome. bar attracts lots of young hip people at night-I was worried we would hear the music at night but we didn’t.

we had a problem working the AC and called the desk at night to resolve and no one answered (someone always there). slept in warm room although issue resolved next day. service in restaurant was hit and miss.

We love the fact that The Mandrake is super discreet both in location and during your stay. I love the style of The Mandrake it’s like how I imagine the coolest parts of Ibiza to be if it went to the dark side and the cocktails are superb.

it’s our 2nd time staying and we love it, only hiccup over the 3 nights we stayed was the first night, on arriving back from our night out we had a drink in the bar, took a seat that was empty. we had a bar guest complain that we had taken their seats even though they hadn’t reserved, the seats were empty and then had the manager come and see us. instead of the manager asking us first if we were staying at the hotel we had to defend our position causing my husband to get a little upset. HOWEVER saying that once he realised we were staying he couldn’t of been more apologetic and told us under no uncertain terms we were to stay put. He handled settling an awkward situation between guest and visitor exceptionally well.

Everything. The hotel is a totally unique experience, the decor and atmosphere throughout the hotel is amazing and the staff were incredible attentive and delivered a high level of personable customer service. The hotel was an experience that was exciting, vibrant, with high quality food and drink along with a great night sleep in the luxurious Newman suite. A must is the spiritual healing treatment and the Sunday yoga class.

Nothing, everything about this hotel is unique, amazing and exceeded all my expectations.

It was quirky, fun and full of surprises - the washroom downstairs was unexpected… won’t say any more than that because you really have to go and see it! The terrace areas are just amazing - to find this in central London! The service was fantastic - so warm, friendly and with smiles, the glass of pink champagne brought to our room made our stay even more special. Thank you all so much.

The only issue we had and had we had some instructions we could have corrected it - the air conditioning didn’t keep us cool. So we didn’t get a good night’s sleep on account of being too hot.

the property was amazing, quirky and had some great spaces depending on what you wanted to do. the terrace was a lovely place for breakfast.

The experience!! standing on the pavement with my bag in hand and looking at the door and then hearing a voice hello please can I help you, I looked left and was greeted by a lovely person who ask my name and welcomed me and my husband. The experience had started, what can I say……..sound, light and vision brilliant, food and drink delicious and the people just so lovely and beautiful. Will I go back…..YES!!!

Room was wonderful, service amazing! Beautiful hotel.. We booked this room as a wedding present for friends, that had to postpone their honeymoon. As soon as I contacted the Mandrake to arrange a few extra details, they were outstanding. Very helpful and very friendly, nothing was too much trouble, thank you!
