The Stratford Hotel London

I liked the location as it was so near to Stratford International Station which was useful for my onward journey. Also it is very near to the Westfield Shopping Centre, which has excellent independent shops, as well as high street favourites. There are excellent food halls in Waitrose and M&S as well as an Eastern food market with a wide range of places to eat. The hotel staff were lovely and I got upgraded to a suite which was great. The hotel is very clean and comfortable with good facilities. The breakfast choice was excellent.

I had to chase to get my room made up on the second day. It was an oversight by housekeeping but reception sorted it promptly.

- Place is very clean and new - They have quality Rituals shampoos - the slippers are so comfortable as well as the rope - On the ground floor is nice restaurant - Quick check in - Listening to customer’s requirements - New facilities - Good value for money - bed is amazing

- They take deposit per nights for stay which is not usual practice (at least in hotels where I used to stay), and is not stated like that in their booking informations(it says only 50£). So if you’re staying for example 7 nights, be ready to have ‘locked’ 350 £. Which will be returned to you 3-4 days after check out, but seems more like a bank move rather than hotel. - if you are accommodated on lower floors you can hear train from underground - there is some room for improvement (shower kit, sewing kit, complimentary water..)

The staff were extremely helpful, polite and efficient. I read some reviews on here that the staff were rude and that's definitely NOT the case with the staff we encountered. Breakfast was lovely, great selection and lots to choose from. Location was fab and Stratford International is literally at the front door. 6 minutes on a train and you are at St Pancras. Westfield shopping centre is right next door. Hotel design is modern and clean.

The only downside for us was the noise from the DJ that played on the Friday and Saturday night. The music finishes between 12:30am and 1:00am. We were told if they have an event on the music doesn't stop until 2am. We were on the 2nd floor and it was loud. We had come for a relaxing, chilled weekend and were kept awake by the music. If you're going to be out until late or you'll be joining in at the bar downstairs then the music won't bother you but if you're going for a relaxing trip then just bear in mind the late night music on a Friday and Saturday night.

The room is so practical and I could tell that every little detail had been thought about eg. towel rail right beside sink, shower switch away from the overhead shower. I loved the style of the room too. Air con was easy to work. It was great to see all the options on the ipad. It felt personal too as my name was on tv and ipad. All the staff were lovely and welcoming. Overall very happy.

Really the only thing was having to leave a deposit. I personally don’t agree with it. (And i’m still waiting for it to be returned)

The hotel is beautiful - rooms were spacious, beds were comfy and staff at check in and check out were warm and welcoming.

I called reception to ask about the possibility of someone bringing up a coffee (my machine didn’t seem to be working) and they weren’t particularly helpful. I also had someone knock on my door while I was in the shower who turned out to be housekeeping - an hour and a half before checkout, so that was a little odd.

we had breakfast included, it didn’t state if continental or not just breakfast included, on arriving for breakfast we were told we only had continental included and if we had any hot we’d be charged £6 pp extra, no problem plenty of choices on the continental however we were watched like hawks in case we dared touch the hot, made eating breakfast a little unsettling.

The Stratford is a beautiful hotel in a great location. It's right next to Stratford International which is a 7 minute train from St Pancras, and is well located for events at The O2. The staff were all super friendly, and the hotel itself is stylish and clean. The room was lovely, clearly very well thought out and stylish with good amenities (Rituals shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel, cotton wool pads and cotton buds, slippers and robes). It was our anniversary and the hotel staff left some lovely treats in our room along with a card. We'd absolutely stay here again.

I understand not changing linens every day but for such a nice hotel it would be good to at least have a freshen up on the room each day e.g bins emptied and tea / coffee refilled. As this wasn't the case we needed to call down for more milk which took a little while to arrive., but overall this wasn't a big deal and wouldn't put me off staying!

Location, generous room size

Cleaning was extremely delayed on Sunday 25th September despite an early request at 9:00 am that day for 2 rooms that we booked. Coffee cups were still left dirty.

Our stay for the night was upgraded which was amazing and greatly appreciated. The room including the bathroom was huge and nicely decorated. Comfortable beds and a good night's sleep - the black out curtains (although hard to close) really did the job. The room was well air conditioned which was needed given how hot it was outside. We had room service breakfast which was lovely (they included mushrooms on my plate despite asking them not to).

Little things that were missing: - seated area in bedroom with mirror and plug socket for getting ready - no tap water in bottles / decanters (you were forced to opt for the £2 bottle of water in the fridge) - the hotel has no designated area for smoking (internal or external terrace) so you have to stand in the street for a cigarette. - no optional milks provided for coffee / tea - semi skimmed UHT milk only available.

It was my mum’s first time in England and in London and she couldn’t believe her eyes when we arrived to the hotel. She said she felt like in the movies and series she sees on TV back in France. Plus the staff was very friendly and nice to us. The room was incredible and even if it was next to the train station it didn’t bother us. Overall we’re both very happy with the stay and I’ll recommend this hotel to people looking for a trendy and luxury hotel at a reasonable price.

Just a small advice for people at the reception. I understand this is your job and you probably repeat the same thing over and over again but don’t rush into the explanations, I couldn’t understand everything the lady was saying cause she spoke very fast and it was late I was pretty tired, music was just next to us so couldn’t hear perfectly either.
