The staff were all really nice. Angela helped carry luggage and was so eager to help, really nice. Kevin was a STAR! He helped with an injury I had by getting ice and frozen peas for my ankle which made a huge difference to the discomfort I had been in after a fall. The room was spotless and pleasant with a great view of East London. The bed was comfy and the bedding really comfortable, little touches like a coffee machine if you wanted coffee and a mini fridge added to the thought process for the guests. Jack the Manager also really amenable and down to earth. I could imagine the vibe in the summer in the pub is really cool. The Pimms was amazing! Leytonstone has various pluses to stay too as on central tube line. Also has high street shops in High Street plus a few cool bars and restaurants 5 minutes away. It is also near to Stratford for shopping weekend (planned for another time 😀)

Room is too way too dark as an attic room "Mary" room) It needed option of more lighting but can understand the desired boutique hotel vibe ...would be a lovely room in winter. The decor was well thought out though. The room lacked a full sized mirror ... It was up four flights of stairs which could be difficult with health conditions (fully booked so no option of changing room)

Room was nicer and more comfortable than I expected. Actually the pillow was the best ive ever experienced in a hotel. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️for the pillow. Shower facilities looked lovely but early start meant I didn’t use. The pub was very lovely, light airy and welcoming. Another ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for the staff and our excellent welcome.

My only disappointment was that we couldn’t eat there as the menu was tiny. Clearly they are not aiming to be a restaurant and thats fair enough. Just glad there were several other options nearby. Was quite noisy but fine once id nodded off. One more note for would be travellers, there are at least two or three flights of stairs to the room, but this is common in pub stays.

*Clean (white sheets and towels) *Comfortable and cosy atmosphere given by the moquette in the room, the decorative elements (lamp, fan, tapestry on the bedside wall, the paintings), yet a little bit gloomy (the light was dim in the room), resembling accurately the vibe of London *Spectacular view from the window (the room was situated on the last floor), and in the distance you can see the corporate skyscrapers contrasting the quiet streets nearby *The metro station is very close, and you have a direct line downtown *The room has a mini fridge and a coffee and tea machine

*Very warm, event in the autumn (the room was situated on the last floor, practically in the attic). There is a fan, but it isn't enough to cool off the whole space, even if it is quite small. *Pretty far from the city center (the bright side is that the metro station is very close and you have a direct line)

Spacious king room and bathroom with exceptional daily cleaning room service. I have to also highlight coffee capsules 👌🏻 Delicious burger in the bar 🤤 + good beer selection. Overall very nice location with plenty of restaurants (good one) and good public transport connections. I wouldn't mind to come back again ❤️

During weekends there was a quite loud music in the bar that was hearable in the room. Nothing what would be entirely irritating, but someone might be sensitive to that. Also there was Underground train maintenance (not entirely related to the hotel, but as a guest you should count with this scheduled limitations hence it might affect your travel to the city.

Amazing experience in Red Lion Hotel. Honestly, I didn`t expect such a great place, was just looking for smth nice in Leytonstone. But in fact discover this great place, 100% recommend to stay even if you are to see the city centre, metro station just a 5-10 min walk and it is a direct line to the centre. It is super authentic ancient building, they renovated it with style, but kept the spirit. So beautiful and cozy, furniture is new, all clean and working. Proper cleaning every day. + Tea and coffee machine in the room, with good selection of stuff, even little caramel cookies. Good soundproofing windows, it was a bit noisy in the morning (workday) but closing the window solves it. Hotel team all nice and friendly, very approachable.

Really nothing to complain about. I guess it would be nice to have a breakfast as downstairs restaurant opens at lunchtime. But there is a few good places for a breakfast within few minutes walk, so not a problem at all. And yes, there are stairs, no elevator. We were totally okay with that. But just keep it in mind, you should be able to move 2-3 floors.

The "Red Lion" is a very smart accomodation with a handful of rooms for guests in a beautiful historical building. It is located in London Leytonstone between London City Center and Periphery. The tube is reachable in a stone's throw. It takes around 15 min to the Tower of London and 25 min to Westminster. The rooms of the Red Lion are situated in the upper floors and were refurbished not a long time ago. The little hotel does not offer breakfast. Vis-a-vis there is a friendly café of moroccans where you can get delicious croissants and coffee or hot chocolate. The ground floor of the Red Lion is a rustic pub where you can have a simply good dinner. On the whole the location is absolutely recommendable.

The double room "Anne" ist very very tiny. There is no space for table and chair. Only a part of one window could be opened a crack. So the circulation of air is not ideally solved. But for a few days of sightseeing it is absolutely recommendable.

We've stopped here before last year, in a king room with a bath. This time we were in the Queen Elizabeth room with a shower. Once again lovely clean room. Bed and pillows are super comfortable. Nice to have a small fridge in the room again. Complimentary water. Enough coffee and milk to last for stay. Nice complimentary toiletries. Plus once again tastefully decorated. Now this is above a pub, but you hear nothing once upstairs on the accommodation levels.

Nothing really to dislike, only niggles were, there was only 2 coat hangers, and there was a grub screw missing off the shower knob and the window was missing a catch. Very trivial maintenance issues. Overall you can book with confidence, and enjoy your stay.

The rooms are beautifully decorated and have a wonderful boutique feel and style. Really comfy bed and pillows, great to have a mini fridge with water and tea / coffee making facilities and a TV. I have stayed in a standard and superior room and they feel really cosy and premium. Having lived in Leytonstone for a few years, but now moved out of the area, I need to come and stay in London every other week. I've not yet found an option as good as this, for the same price. And just a couple of minutes to the Central Line, it's a great spot. Staff are very friendly too and check in / check out is easy and painless.

Depending on where your room is, it can be a little noisy from the traffic down Leytonstone High Road, though not all rooms overlook the road. The first time I stayed the room was PERFECT. The next room I had needed a bit of TLC in the bathroom to fix some tiles and unblock the plug. I shared feedback on email and got a very quick response.

We have stayed in the Elizabeth room on the top floor. The room was clean and cosy. It was not big but had everything that we expect for a short stay, except of a good Wi-Fi signal. There is a nice view of the city from the window. The bed was comfortable and we had a good sleep, although the noise from the bar during the friday and saturday was little bit disturbing, since the room was quite warm and we had to open the window during night. But we expected it after reading the previous reviews. The staff was nice and helpful. We would definitely come back again.

Wi-Fi was not working in our room - it was possible to catch the signal near the door, but it was still too weak. Handle was loose on the temperature regulator in the shower, so it was constantly falling, but it worked :)
