Esplanade Hotel

The view was amazing, the location is perfect. Not too far from the town center, on the doorstep of the beach, next door to a surf club. The room was very clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We travelled there for a get-away for my daughters 13th, she was greeted with a balloon and card with well wishes, they helped me with ordering a cake (cakes by chloe) lovely by the way. They presented it to her and sung happy birthday. I traveled with my 3 year old too who loved the play areas, he got a goodie bag on arrival. They had entertainment too, in the form of Harry kazzam whilst we were there. We used their cinema room, though abit hesitant as it has a slight wet/musky smell; this could be due to its close proximity of it to the pool, lack of ventilation or perhaps visitors using it straight from being in water and seats getting wet. I'm not sure. All in all, we had a lovely stay there and would definitely recommend and stay again. Oh, food was great and the locals are lovely too! No complaints

The check out is too early and the £50 credit deposit doesn’t go back into your bank for another week after you leave the hotel. this is too long! they are quick to take your money but not bothered to much about putting it back!

The beds were hard and quite uncomfortable. There was no AC and the room was incredibly hot! Parking was quite limited. Breakfast very expensive.

What a beautiful gem at the heart of Fistral Beach. Stayed here for 1 night for a stopover on the 17th July 2023. I could not be more pleasantly surprised. Staff was amazing. They have advised about parking etc (some free parking on site, some charged at £15 per night, there is also free parking right outside on main road), they were more than happy to explain pool facilities, restaurant, bars etc. Check in was pleasant and not rushed. Very welcoming. The hotel itself has a very modern but warm feel to it. Gorgeous seats by entrance overlooking bay with stunning costal views. Room was very clean with nice welcoming tea/coffee selection with different types of Cornish tea as well as a cute jar of shortbreads! Also a quick side note, room smelled gorgeous! 😀 Bathroom was, again, very clean with a lovely selection of toiletries. If you are staying here, do not worry about your shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, hand wash or even a body moisturiser. The selection of these in this hotel would last a family of 4 for about a week! Clean towels and lots of them with bathrobes and slippers. They only 1 thing I found slightly annoying (very slightly) the room was very very hot. Especially after a shower. Windows open only a tiny bit which is a shame because they could easily be opened a lot more and still safe with kids, pets, etc. However, I believe this might have been mentioned before as the fan (tall, standing one) that was provided was more than enough to make sure the stay was comfortable as much as possible. Will definitely be back, hopefully for more than 1 stopover night thats for sure! Thank you Esplanade and Staff.

Child friendly but totally respecting the adults. Provides great opportunities for kids to entertain themselves, so you can have a bite to eat or glass of wine. But easy to supervise your children at the same time The welcome pack was awesome! Build a bear! My kids were delighted Staff very helpful day and night Very friendly staff in the rooms also. Had lovely interactions with our chambermaid (rm 235).

Could not for love nor money get the dryer to work. I probably wouldn’t have put a wash in the machine if I didn’t think I could dry it. Pool was too cold for me. The kids didn’t seem to mind

Pleasant decor, nicely decorated restaurant. Nice to have play area for kids. The welcome bag for kids was lovely. We enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi. Little balcony was nice to sit out on. Nice lounge to sit and look at the sun going down in the evenings.

Some of the equipment in the play area needed fixing. The dinner was a bit underwhelming. My chicken dish was nice, but the burgers were very ordinary. The burgers were like the cheap frozen ones from a budget supermarket. For kids that would be fine though. There was clearly far too few staff for the restaurant in the evening, service was slow but you could see the staff were trying their best, they were still very helpful and friendly. The afternoon tea was very nice though.

That you had to either leave dog in room or sit outside dining room with dog. An area of tables near the door instead de dining room would suffice for this. Breakfast overpriced. Had dinner there twice, first night great, very tasty. Second night awful, tasteless. Should’ve complained as really couldn’t believe chef had tasted before sending out. Also bingo guy was a bit annoying, coming to our table on a number of occasions during our dinner asking if we were joining in. He’d also asked while we were waiting to be seated. Once should’ve been enough.

Lovely staff, great facilities, good size room

Parking cost is high (to a non-Brit anyway!) but at least it was available :) There were steps down into the bathroom so check before you book if this is an issue for you We had two amounts from the restaurant on our account that weren't ours - we paid as we went. We were asked our room number in the restaurant and were told it was needed to open the till (??) but the restaurant is open to those not staying at the hotel so that was a bit odd. People could say any room number and then sign so something needs fixing in the system to make sure this doesn't happen.

Amazing facilities, especially catering towards children - with a small gift upon arrival and cookies & milk before bed as well as a cinema and soft play area. The swimming pool, jacuzzi & sauna were good and there was plenty of entertainment for adults with live music and pool tables. The food in the restaurant was delicious, enjoyed every meal we had there. The staff were very friendly and attentive, going out of their way to be helpful. The room was big, spacious and comfortable.

When we arrived I didn’t realise that there was an EV charging point on-site (there is in fact 2, but one is specifically for Tesla) that was one of the reserved parking slots you can pay for. This is because a non-EV was parked in it. From speaking to the staff, it seems like this could be reserved for parking, regardless if you drove an EV or not which is a shame as there is a lack of charging facilities around the area. The only other thing that was a negative point for me was that the restaurant took on a coach (or maybe two) of guests on one evening but were understaffed, so none of the other people staying could get a table until considerably later, which was a shame.
