Very clean, modern and comfortable, including large and comfortable bed in main bedroom. Spacious balconies. There were some issues at the start of our stay, as the gas supply for the whole site was off and the tv in the lodge was malfunctioning. The lack of gas is an issue when arriving at a lodge with the only supper planned for the first night is based on cooking dried pasta and there’s no heating in January! The reason that I’m mentioning this in ‘what I like’ is that the site maintenance chaps were really pleasant, visited the lodge numerous times, and everything was sorted out by the end of second day.

Density of lodges. Overlooked by and overlooking other lodges. Not enough trees. The site is expanding so there is construction work taking place, and contractors were working late every day in lodges close to ours. We probably should have given us a lodge away from contractors. Staff on reception were very efficient, but not warm or welcoming. Site shop was closed for the whole 4 days; would be a good idea to say this on website.

The apartment was great. The bed was so comfortable and slept very well. Balcony with beautiful view of the lake. Parking nearby. Quiet location, good value for money overall due to reduced price as construction work happening to build new apartments.

The facilities need some TLC for a 5 star resort. For example the changing rooms in the swimming pool, cleanliness of outside areas such as balcony, conrinually dripping drainpipes etc. There was only one spa therapist on site, not enough for size of site. As they were on holiday no treatments were available all weekend. This was not communicated beforehand. Also advertised certain activities on website however these were not available (e g paddle boarding) due to staffing issues. No response to email querying this before arriving.

The lodge itself was very nice, very clean and tidy. The property was spacious enough for 4 of us. It was evident it was well looked after. The resort was lovely with lots of facilities. We took part in the water obstacle course which was amazing and well organised. We ate in the lookout restaurant, this was also well organised, clean and really nice with delicious food.

I feel the restaurant could have had more main meals on offer as it was mainly pizza’s. The lodge I felt was missing a microwave and hair dryer.

The apartment was on the ground floor overlooking the lake. I stayed in a dog friendly room which was Perfect for the dog as he loved watching the ducks. Apartment 314 had everything needed for a few days away. I had previously stayed in 306 which wasn’t as nice. 314 was decorated really well and had a great L sofa which was comfortable. would definitely stay in this one again. Great outdoor space for dog to play.

The only issue was that the decking outside was quite slippery and my dog managed to get onto next doors property as he squeezed though a gap in the fencing. luckily my neighbours saw the funny side Ben though slightly embarrassing.

Location is great for travelling to main places like Padstow & Newquay and lots of other smaller beaches/villages! Charlestown is worth a visit for sure! Aldi & Tesco 10-15 mins away in Wadebridge as well as a B & M. Property was clean but could do with a deep clean - attention to detail including outside furniture was lacking sadly. Cafe and aquapark wasnt open (presume due to time of year) and didnt try restaurant as tbh when i looked on the day was fully booked. Little welcome pack had little bits for kitchen such as a dishawasher tablet (built in) and washing up liquid/ sponge Washing machine in built too which was handy! Bathroom good size with powerful shower and nice deep bath! Good general sized apartment for 1 or 2 people and a dog or two! Will for sure visit again!

Property was clean but could do with a deep clean - attention to detail including outside furniture was lacking sadly. Cobwebs on ceiling in bathroom and other areas. Kitchen lacking a few bits to make it more practical such as silicone utensils and a chopping board. Also no brush for floors. No handwash or soap in bathroom I chose the site as had a gym and pool. The photo's dont compare to the very tiny cardio and weights room. Again attention to detail in cleaning these areas is lacking big time incluidng nothing to clean machines with post use! More speed humps are needed around the site as everyone drives like its a motorway despite being lotas of people walking dogs about!

Loved our stay at Retallack Resort and spa. Went as a family of four with our small dog. We arrived to a friendly welcome from staff at reception. Our 3 bed barn was just perfect. Both our girls got a bedroom each, so loads of room for all their belongings. We also received a lovely wee dog bag, with a travel bowl, treats a blanket and toy, which was just so nice and thoughtful. The house has everything you need with the washing machine and small clothes dryer, to hang the clothes on. We did the assault course on the water as a family, which was really good fun, tiring 🤪😴 my husband and kids did the flow rider, which they loved. We enjoyed sitting there at the bar, enjoying a drink, as you can watch people on the flow rider. The location was perfect for peace and quiet, but also near to places with a quick drive in the car. Overall a lovely holiday, we were very lucky that it was scorching ☀️

We didn’t have any issues or complaints as this was honestly an amazing holiday ☀️☀️

The location was lovely and the views were amazing! Really nice break to get away for a few days and the location of the resort is great as you are near to everything.

I feel that there could of been some checks by staff. We didn’t have enough essentials to last the stay, eg. Toilet toll. We couldn’t get hold of the restaurant when we wanted to call to book a table for dinner, left a message and no answer. TV didn’t connect to Chromecast which was disappointing but not a major thing. Only other thing I would say was maybe a door mat? As the door leads into the bedroom and it was raining we got wet feet everywhere when we walked in but not a critic just a suggestion.

Really lovely and clean, comfy bed, lovely balcony overlooking the lake with ducks in it. Nice little kitchen and nice to have separate shower and bath in the bathroom. We really enjoyed our stay and loved all of the available activités on site which we didn’t do as chose to go out and about but was nice to have in case of bad weather. We would definitely return.

Although we really enjoyed our stay and would return I think it would be beneficial for a few added extras just to feel like better value for money. We had a welcome pack which was a nice touch but weirdly this had a couple of tea towels (needed) cleaning sponge again no problem and a small squeezy bottle of washing up liquid no issue with these but did find it weird that we were given dishwasher tablets when we didn’t have a dishwasher and there was no tea bags or coffee or even milk in the fridge but strangest of all no soap in the bathroom! So if you are going take soap and tea coffee. That being said there is an on-site shop so you can buy stuff if needed.

Our lodge was well located for adults, away from family activities and the site geographically convenient. Spacious and clean, mostly provided what we needed and enjoyed the use of hot tub and our decking area was quite secluded ( not all are)

4pm is quite late for check in and our lodge still wasn’t quite ready, although was clean when we could access it. We felt it was lacking in a few things- later discovered that they hadn’t had delivery of some items usually provided in the welcome pack. It would have been better to tell us on check in. A few more utensils and also for outdoors ( e.g. plastic cups/ glasses) would be even better

The facilities were great. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Would highly recommend it. We had a really great time

We struggled to get the oven started. It would be useful to have a catalogue/ information on using it available in the house. We also were unable to get the TV working throughout our stay. It would not pair with the phone. We could have asked for help if we really wanted to watch something but didn't bother as the hot tub was available, so we spent time in that. Altogether, it was a perfect stay. Also a small cupboard or wardrobe in the rooms would have been useful.
