Beacon Country House Hotel & Luxury Shepherd Huts

Lovely location. Quiet and central to explore a number of key landmarks in that end of Cornwall. Clean, we mean CLEAN, property-not just rooms. A cozy lounge and restaurant. Incredibly dog friendly. Our lab was spoilt. Nigel and team, every single member of the team were patient, accommodating, and proactive in ensuring our comfort. We followed their suggestions to structure our days and very glad that we did. The weather precluded any possibility of exploiting the lovely walks they have all round. We are definitely coming back again in spring or summer.

We really cannot think of anything that we didn’t like.

Great place to stay if you want a quiet place to relax. The staff were really friendly and ready to assist with any requests, the room was spacious with a large double bed as advertised and the breakfast was great, with a lovely selection. We used it as a base to explore and it worked quite well. Would definitely recommend it!

The extractor fan in the bathroom did not work well so it was very steamy in there as there is no window. It would also have been great if the bath was cleaned every day so you could have a bath.

A great Hotel, super clean, all the staff were super helpful. Well positioned for clear and open views over the country side. Breakfasts were delicious served by very friendly staff, we had kippers on a couple of days which were the best ever.. I would definitely return to the Beacon Hotel. Fresh milk on request, complimentary Fudge, and fresh drinking water daily. Good location easy reach of secluded coves and beaches.

This is a fantastic family run hotel very close to St Agnes.We have just spent 2 wonderful nights at The Beacon. The most impressive thing is the staff, special mention to Gary who was extremely friendly and very helpful. The bedrooms(R10) are spacious and tastefully appointed.The bed was oh so comfortable consequently we had 2 great nights sleep. Breakfast is served in a lovely bright restaurant and the quality of the food is very high. Highly Recommend this hotel.

The best hotel I have ever stayed in, the staff were so lovely and welcoming which made our stay so much better. The breakfast was delicious and the hotel was extremely clean. We were celebrating a special occasion and the staff gave us a card and a bottle of Prosecco which just shows just how exceptional their customer service is. They gave us advice on where to visit and the best locations to watch the sunset which was appreciated. Definitely coming back next year :)

What can we say, where the hotel is sited is amazing, the staff go above and beyond their duties. The owners are amazing and so helpful nothing is a problem, they are interested in you as a person not just a customer. Rooms are lovely and Sandie my wife wanted to marry the chef as the food looked, smelt and tasted wonderful.. What score could we give well 10 is perfect and we have never given a 10 ever, the Beacon Country House Hotel is a absolute gem of a place and we will be visiting again. So drum roll please we give a well deserved score of........... 9.9.

All areas of this establishment were clean, well maintained and run. The staff we encountered were cheerful and helpful.. We enjoyed very comfortable beds and crisp linens . Our room, #2, overlooked the beautiful pastures which were flowered with lavender ( color) flowers. The bathroom is newly renovated and well appointed.

The relative remoteness of the establishment was a problem for us because our car reservation, at Truro train station was messed up. And as we arrived Saturday afternoon ALL rental facilities were closed for the day AND all day Sunday! Nigel was very helpful in getting us taxi opportunities but it generally limited our first day. one can walk into StAgnes, a lovely little town, and further to the beach. It is VERY hilly once you pass town. fortunately that was not a problem for us and we enjoyed the walk and the day at the beach.

The Hotel was very clean, the staff were absolutely lovely and extremely helpful. The Breakfast options were excellent the quality of the food was also very high and portions were generous.

Only the geographical location, it was beautiful with stunning scenery but a little far from where we needed to go to a Wedding but that's not their fault, we should have checked that,

Beautiful hotel/gardens and view. Spotlessly clean and lovely bedroom...very comfortable bed. Nigel the manager very friendly and welcoming...Marie and Sam served us great breakfast and all the staff so friendly...nothing too much trouble for them. Excellent experience...would highly recommend!

Our second time visiting the beacon country house hotel and this place just couldn’t get any better. As soon as you walk in, the place smells so fresh and clean. We were greeted by Nigel, who immediately welcomed us and made us feel straight at home. Nigel even remembered us from last year which is pretty impressive bearing in mind how many guests they will have had through the doors over 12 months. We were booked in, shown our room, offered help with our bags and then he left us to it, telling us if we needed anything just ask. This was appreciated because after a 7.5 hour drive we didn’t want a lengthy booking in process. Everyone that works at this hotel are always so friendly and helpful. Nigel, Jane, Sam and Gary just go over and above every time for you and Nothing seems to be too much trouble. We asked Gary about a coastal walk one day as the weather wasn’t fantastic, and he took the time to explain how to get to the best (free) car park, got a map out to give us and drew directions on the map of the best walks. And it wasn’t just us that got this treatment, we saw other guests being given the same time, care and attention regularly by all the team there. I’m really sorry I didn’t learn the names of the other team members (I’m terrible with names) but all the lovely waitresses were so friendly and helpful too, and we also had a chat with a lady that cleaned our room as she has a son that comes from just up the road from where we live. Just have to say thanks to the chef too for putting up with my wife’s special requests for well done bacon and sausage too (it was my wife not me honestly!). And that’s another thing we both loved about the hotel, the food. Very very tasty, a good choice and the portion sizes for us were just right. The room we stayed in was a good size, the views from our bedroom were also lovely and everything was again spotlessly clean. The bed was also huuuuuge. Even my wife couldn’t take all of the bed up for once by sprawling out.
