The Chequers Inn

The staff are very welcoming and super friendly. Breakfast is lovely and the rooms are quiet and comfortable. The hotel is good value for money and within good distance of Oxford. There is available parking there for free.

Nothing major to report, the beds were not the most comfortable as you could feel the springs but that is mostly me being fussy, I would still totally recommend this hotel and its friendly staff! We have a lovely stay and it met our expectations.

Family room abit of a squeeze & in attic so sloping ceilings but our child is 16 & we are all very tall!

this was a mid-way stop on a road trip for us and we said we would keep it in ming for the future. The location was lovely. Plenty of car park space and quiet at night. Abu was a great host and his wife should appear on Masterchef so good was the quality of her cooking.

Perhaps I'm old fashioned but I don't agree with small children in pubs and especially staying over and being a damn nuisance during breakfast. also when the parents just sit there and accept the behaviour. I shan't go on about dogs in pubs....Noooooooooooo

The couple at the inn were so lovely and attentive, so helpful and caring and anything you needed, they would be there. Room was gorgeous and a lovely en site bathroom no faults!! Breakfast was delicious too, anything you wanted they would make (breakfast wise obviously!). The area is such a lovely village as well so calm and chilled out, our weekend was perfect. Only about 15 mins away from Oxford centre and half an hour away from Diddly Squat Farm shop;) Lovely church right next to the inn with beautiful views. Amazing stay and experience for the price. The family that own chequers in make traditional Indian curries and though we didn't get chance to try them as we were so busy oh my gosh they smelt AMAZING

I couldn't name one thing at fault!

The owner really made us feel welcome and was apologetic they couldn't supply ab evening meal due to staff sickness. He was happy for us to eat our takeaway in the bar or garden though! The place is beautiful and it's a shame we couldn't experience evening dining as it looks like it would have been a lovely experience, old beams, log burners etc.

The only thing for us was that the room was very snug, especially with the dog and his bed, could only just get around the bed. Other than that, no negative points to make.

A real country inn, well maintained. The location, just outside Oxford was perfect for our needs. Room was as you’d expect and want from a country inn type hotel. The food was really good and very well priced, especially for the area. Breakfast was included; was spot on. The owners and staff were very friendly and made us feel totally at home. They also held a varied selection of beers, one in particular was as good a pint as I’ve had in along time. The owner seems to be very proud of his beer and cider selection.

Not the hotels fault, but the village is not as well supported by local busses as we would like, but there is usually one an hour.

family run and friendly, great for a base to investigate the Oxford area. Price good for type of property and accommodation… not high end. great location for park and ride into Oxford close to Woodstock and Blenheim Palace

Nice little place, welcomed by the owner on arrival showed us the room and said largest room in the pub !!!! We thought my god how small are the rest, bathroom was very tight and room was not massive but it served its purpose. Having said that the room was fine for one night . Good indian food cooked by the owners and english breakfast was tasty.

£107 Bathroom toilet rolls holder hanging off the wall, tap turns wrong way and if you forget hot water splashes all over.
