The staff were very friendly and accommodating, which was a highlight. The food (dinner and breakfast) was good quality, tasty and fresh. The room was spacious, clean, quiet and warm and the bed was comfortable. The room seemed to have been done up quite recently so felt fresh. It is also in a very beautiful location.

The bed was a small double but it was a comfortable mattress and perhaps some of the building (although not the room) could do with repairs/freshening up but this is a minor point that wouldn't stop me booking again as it was value for money and a very pleasant stay.

Breakfast was excellent. Location was stunning

The property was a little run down due to the brewery not spending a penny on repairs. The land lady has to take her shoes off to change the barrels. This is due to the cellar flooding often. After repeated calls to the brewery for a cellar pump, Debbie the land lady is still waiting to see if the brewery will spend the £150.00 for a pump.

Very laid back staff. Easy parking. Beautiful location and extremely well presented rooms.

Booking.com did not state that this place was closed on a Monday even though we scheduled to stay on a Monday....arrived to a closed pub....took 20 minutes to get staff to come downstairs from living apartment above. After entering the premises ourselves through an open side door. However the staff were very welcoming considering...we eneded up having a great meal, drinks, games of pool and a pub to ourselves with a juke box.

The Pulpit Inn has an excellent location. Unfortunately due to a financial problem it will be closing in the near future .The rooms were probably the largest that I have stayed in and were very comfortable but as I have said the Inn will be closing and many areas are in disrepair. The areas in use however are generally very good. The breakfast which was included in the cost of the room was excellent. My wife said it was the best she had eaten for a long time !

Only the fact that some areas are in disrepair due to the future closure of the building.

The location was perfect for exploring the island. We received a warm welcome and staff were helpful and friendly throughout our stay. The room was spacious , clean and nicely decorated. The trip was great value for money especially as our stay included breakfast.

There were a few DIY issues in the bathroom and the outside of the property needed a bit of TLC but this didn’t detract from our experience and don’t let first appearances put you off a potential stay.

The staff, who looked after us when we arrived after they had stopped serving by cooking up burgers for 2 x hungry walkers who had just done 26 miles.

We only stayed until 6am as we were off walking again, and the only negative I had was the bleakness of the Isle of Portland which is not the Pulpit Inn's fault

good room, very clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and I really enjoyed my stay.

the property was built in the 1950’s and is showing its age, especially as there is talk of replacing it in the near future. However the staff make up for that.

Great position right on the tip of Portland Bill. Perfect for strolling along the coast. You do need a car though. Spacious room with good heating controls, new shower and recently decorated. Friendly host

The window couldnt be opened because it has rotted. They will put a new window in soon. The door handle to the room was broken. Again they aim to fix this properly. It was a shame that on the two nights the pub was closed to punters.

Not much really. This is NOT a Dislike but a Recamandion. Could improve on tea facilities make sure they are kept stocked up. I had to keep asking for top ups.
