This very nice bed and breakfast is run by a welcoming and well organised couple. It’s just a very good b&b. I don’t want to say too much because I’m hoping there will be a vacancy next time I visit Rochester! AND there was real, actual butter on the breakfast table - plus of course other things. The house is in a rather spectacular position overlooking the Medway - our room with a view was definitely worth an extra £10. The walk down to Rochester High Street, about 30/40 minutes, is through a wonderfully picturesque and historic part of this very ancient city.

I’m reluctant to say what I didn’t like, because it applies to nearly everywhere I stay away from home. I find the smell of the washing detergent used for the bedding to be unpleasant and very strong. I use Ecover Zero Fragrance Detergent at home.

Really lovely, large twin/double room, fantastic modern en-suite bathroom with large walk-in shower. Little extra touches like box of tissues and bottles of water gave the feel of a hotel room. Breakfast selection was really good, we enjoyed a non-greasy 'full-English.' Easy car parking on road outside the house. We would definitely recommend Botleigh Villa and stay here again.

We did notice that the floor edges & corners in the bedroom and bathroom were quite dusty - a tiny detail really in an otherwise bright and gleaming room - maybe that's why it jumped out at us? Also good to note that payment needs to be made in cash - we missed this on the booking confirmation (our fault!), but it was easy to find a cash point in the town so no real bother.

Due to our car breaking down enroute, we phoned the hotel and told not to worry and someone would be there to check us in - at 4am in the morning!! The room was lovely (the whole hotel has a lovely feel to it), breakfast was first class and, whilst we were waiting for another car recovery truck, the owners invited us to sit on the terrace overlooking their garden and the river, with another pot of tea. Lovely, friendly hosts. Thank you

Only staying one night!! Everything else was top notch so cannot point out any misgivings

A lovely room in a grand Victorian building. It was cosy, comfortable and spotless, with all we needed. We enjoyed the artwork on the walls and the river views from the bedroom and breakfast lounge. We had mentioned we're vegetarian, so were given a delicious and very generous cooked veggie breakfast on both mornings, alongside fresh fruits, muffins, juice and cereal. The walk straight down the hill past the castle and cathedral to the High St is not to be missed, as it goes past many beautiful and varied buildings. We hadn't realised Rochester has so much interesting architecture. A really excellent place to stay for a Medway visit; we hope to go back.

We were given a very warm welcome and our room was ready when we arrived early. Our room was lovely. Spotlessly clean, bright and very comfortable. The fresh milk was much appreciated, as were lots of little extra touches. Breakfast was hearty and delicious. Rochester centre was an easy 15 minute walk away.

Parking was on the street rather than private, but luckily we found a space as there are no street restrictions. The owner had also offered to move her car if we wanted a space directly outside, which was thoughtful.

Such a lovely place. Easy parking, beautiful, quiet and comfortable room. Lovely hosts who let us check in really early. Super yummy breakfast. Would wholeheartedly recommend staying here. Just a 15 min walk into Rochester. Wish we’d had better weather and could’ve sat on their lovely terrace overlooking the river.

Beautiful property with stunning views. The owners are super friendly and very helpful with any needs you might have. The room was very clean and a generous size. Freshly cooked breakfast with a selection of fruits, juices and cereals. Would definitely use again and have no problem with recommending.

A beautiful home, spotlessly clean, every attention to detail evident, Bobby & Noreen made us most welcome. Comfortable bed and lovely shower with all toiletries, in the en-suite. Fresh milk available for our room tea or coffee. A delicious full English breakfast was served in the morning.

The large window facing the bed with blinds that were broken, and white flimsy curtains Party on our second night ment there was so much noise coming from nearbygarden.

Comfortable, clean room overlooking the Medway (at a distance). Two single beds pushed together as a king double was very comfortable. Hosts were very friendly. Excellent cooked breakfast. would recommend.

Bathroom was slightly dated, and shower not very powerful, but overall still acceptable and excellent value for money for the price.
