I like the location, the lake. It's very quiet and perfect for kids and dogs 🐕 , and the forest next to the hotel It's amazing!

I don't like the food in the hotel and especially the breakfast and the coffee that they're serving in the morning it's awful 😫

View of the lake is very tranquil. Considering hiw close the venue is to a busy dual carriageway, the room was extremely quiet. Large rooms with comfortable bed. Breakfast was very good.

Despite being told food would he available until 11pm as there was a wedding function on, git there at 10:30 pm and couldn't even muster a hot chocolate. Bathroom was a mishmash of 70s green sink and white bath etc. Decor really needs updating, woodchuck wallpaper perling in places with dull paint finish. Tv in room couldn't have been any smaller and remote didn't operate all functions so could not turn off audio commentary which was a tad annoying. These comments do not distract from value for money although expect these minor negativities

The location is brilliant should you want to take the channel tunnel or ferries at Dover, you can be there in just under half an hour. There's ample, secure parking in the premises. Check-in was brilliant, Steve did a really great job, thank you Steve! The place is very pet friendly, but, as usual, you would be advised to bring your own blankets and pet beds for the four legged friends. The room was quite ample, with French doors leading to the lake (brilliant view), so those travelling with dogs would find this a treat as you can easily walk them (this area is fenced off from the main shore where one can enjoy food outdoors). The setting is very idyllic. The bedroom and bathroom had been cleaned well, the linen was crisp and clean. The wifi was decent. We had more than enough storage space in the room. Even though the property is located close to the motorway, one does not hear anything from the motorway, at least in the rooms facing the lake. The rooms have tall ceilings, so one does not feel much heat should one check-in on a hot day (as we did). The room has tea/coffee facilities. The bar staff (they have a fine selection of food too), especially Agnieszka and Phoebe, were brilliant-they have a decent selection of dishes for the supper. Breakfast was quite decent too, the staff were quite helpful. Check-out was smooth. I would recommend the Inn on the lake and look forward to staying there the next time we drive to the UK.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful. My room overlooked the lake, and it was stunning, a massive bonus. Breakfast was brilliant. The kitchen was exceptional when it came to catering for gluten free. I felt very safe with everything I ate, and they had lots of different options both dinner and breakfast.

The dinner menu could use a bit of work, nothing really stood out to me food wise. The whole venue, though beautiful in a way, feels very dated. The rooms could use a little revamping and the chairs out by the lake, though lovely and wooden, became very uncomfortable after about half an hour.

A good sized desk to work on my laptop Wifi that worked pretty good Breakfast pretty good spread, both Continental and Hot, would rate an 8 plus all day long

Location and view over the lake. The friendly staff. The pub and the tv screens with sports. The possibility to have food. The breakfast that is included in your stay. We come from Belgium and have to travel up north. The Inn on the lake is brilliantly situated to have a rest halfway the journey and we will certainly come again.

The womens toilets of the diner were disgusting according to my wife. The bathtub in our room had some peaces of enamel missing...someting what can easily be touched up with enamel paint. The adress on our bookingmail does not bring us to the Inn. It brings us to the right turn of and than you have a roadsign for the Inn, but after that on the roundabound the satnav (waze) sends you back to the junction of the A2. No sign for the Inn again on the roundabout ... afterwards we saw a sign with a bed that brings you to the place. This is the second time we go there and I remember we had trouble finding it the first time aswell !! ;-)

Comfy beds, super clean, lovely staff, good breakfast and service, close to the motorway for the commute to Brandshatch and we really enjoyed our stay. I agree, with other reviews it needs a little TLC but we are happy to book here again if we make our trip an annual event.

We weren't bothered by the small DIY projects needed. Admittedly, the shower handle did come off and the basin was cracked but we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and we would visit again. Let's face it, COVID and the cost of living recently has hit all our budgets, so I'm happy to continue supporting small businesses.

- Superb view. - The side of the room looking out across the gardens and lake was mostly windows, gave a lovely "open" feel. - Breakfast was very well cooked, large buffet selection. - Friendly staff. - Plenty of parking spaces. - Really comfortable room that was beautifully decorated and furnished. - Windows that will actually open rather than being restricted to a 2 inch gap. - Peaceful feel to the whole place (despite my second negative below)

- One window would not open fully - awaiting fix. Not an issue this time as it wasn't overly hot. - Main issue was the walls are quite thin and the couple next door were having a "very nice time"- not sure if they were not aware everything could be heard of they just didn't care, but it didn't make for a peaceful few hours!!! It wouldn't stop me staying there again, unless that is the norm! - A pity you can't walk around the lake. I got caught the same as a few other people I later saw turning back - you can walk so far in the grounds then the gate is locked as it's for fishing members only...but that didn't alter the gorgeous view. - Not a major problem but would have been nice to choose a breakfast table rather than being allocated.

The location, staff and scenery was amazing.

They were holding a wedding, the main restaurant was closed which I wasn't told when booking. All they could offer was a sandwich. If you wanted a drink you had to go where all the wedding guests were, so unfortunately we had to drive to another restaurant We booked a family room as it had a double and a twin, as were sold out of twin rooms. Only got a double bed. I was travelling with my mum so was a little strange. Shower curtain rail all rusty and mould on bathroom ceiling.bit disappointed when you see the amazing gardens.

The hotel was lovely, our room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. We loved the lakes, which were very pretty and peaceful. Our toddler loved feeding the birds! The breakfast (included in the cost) was really tasty and there was a good selection of food to choose from. The hotel was within short driving distance to restaurant, pubs and main shops.

The rooms were a little dated in terms of decor and could maybe do with a freshen up but it was a great hotel regardless. The hotel is not really located within walking distance to much as it’s right near the motorway so a car is needed.
