Closeness of Guesthouse to town centre without being too close. Privacy of room. Quietness - room was away from road and high up. Kay and Graham couldn't do enough including taking up and bringing down case at start and end of stay -very much appreciated as room was on 3rd floor. Excellent breakfast and everything spotless.

Other peoples bathroom fans being left on for a long time in late evening. I've met this in other hotels/guesthouses. Those that didn't have the problem had bathrooms with separate switchable fans (so you only put them on when necessary) with an automatic timer in case people forgot to turn them off. Don't know how practical or expensive that would be as a retrofit as at present the fan is turned on when the bathroom light is switched on.

The hosts were really friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean, bed was very comfortable. As it was a very hot day we were very happy there was a good fan. Breakfast was very good (vegetarian for us) and really tasty. There is a nice space in the garden where you could sit. It surprised us that both in the garden and in our room (with windows open) it was very quiet, even though there was very loud live music in a pub just around the corner! We had read in another comment that the house was surprisingly quiet even though on a (busy) road, and we can confirm this is really true. Parking is easy nearby, just around the corner.

We would have liked a bigger room/bed, but it is often not very clear on Booking.com when you make the booking which room exactly you get.

This is a really lovely B&B in the heart of charming Romsey. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful, the room was sparkling clean, comfortable and quiet. There were thoughtful touches everywhere- from a tower fan to keep us cool at night to the complimentary sweets, biscuits and water in the room. The breakfast was just outstanding! Really, among the best hotel breakfasts I ever had, and I've had hundreds! They had GF bread on hand so that the breakfast offerings could be adapted, which I really appreciated. There is parking in a secure lot quite nearby (free from 4 pm to 8:30 am the next day) and the Market Square is only a few hundred metres away. (Don't miss Romsey Abbey- it's beautiful!). There is nothing I could fault with the Palmerston Rooms- excellent value, great location, outstanding comfort, service and amenities. Very accessible to Southamtpon, and a much nicer and less expensive place to stay!

Well decorated and quality fittings including the bathroom. Food excellent.Dining room well set out with clearly numbered allocated table to each room. The host is and all the staff were friendly and helpful.

The small attic room situated on the third floor with a sloping ceiling despite signage saying mind your head it was inevitable to bang your head when passing the bed to go to the bathroom as little space. The bathroom was a small narrow room but had a quality toilet and sink with lovely toiletries plus an excellent shower. Only one wooden upright chair in the room, so nowhere to sit apart from on the bed with no lounge area offered.

There is nothing to dislike. I was met by Graham who confirmed I could access my room earlier than expected. He took my bag to my room, gave a clear briefing, and cooked fabulous breakfast the next morning.

The sensor light on the hallway outside my room kept activating during the night which I could see clearly through the door. It would only affect a light sleeper and Graham made aware to fix.

we really did enjoy our stay at this cosy place in Romsey and were a little bit sad that we just stayed one night. The room was very clean, comfortable and well equipped & the place is very well located but most of all Graham & Kay are very friendly and helpful and are truly great hosts!:) The breakfast (Muffin with avocado, ham & egg) for itself is extraordinary and 10 points worth by itself ;) Thank you very much!

Everything was immaculate… seemed almost brand new!! Hosts were super helpful and provided a lovely breakfast meal.

Only could have used a few hooks and more flat surface in the bathroom for my make-up and toiletries. 3rd floor room, with slanted roof, was a bit short on headroom for my talk husband… but was fine for me. It you are talk, request a 2nd floor room.

The room was very clean and modern furnishings, well equipped, good location, room had a quite location. You could book one or two nights some accommodation say two nights only. Staff Friendly and helpful who could assist with nearby parking. The guest house was well kept and the breakfast menu was very good.

In the night could hear the room up stairs, not sure what you could do about that as its a listed building. The price I paid was comparable to a Hotel, which I thought was little much for a guest house.

Everything was great. Good size Room with all facilities. Bed comfortable, breakfast was exceptional. Graham and his staff were brilliant and super friendly. Gave a great recommendation for local pub for dinner, the three tuns - try the home made faggots!! Location perfect for the town centre. Property is kept in fantastic order

What a gem of a place! The location is perfect for exploring Romsey - near everything, but also just off the high street, so quieter. The hosts have created a cosy retreat. The rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean, well-furnished with all one could need, and all arranged very thoughtfully. The breakfasts are scrumptious and generous. And the hosts themselves could not be kinder. Thoroughly recommended.
