The pub/hotel is situated in the center of Pembury, opposite the village green. There is a large free car park next to the pub. No need to bring your suitcase or bags to the check-in, there is a special entrance to the rooms. 15 rooms available, divided over two floors. Room nr.1 is a room for disabled people. It is quite specious and has a large shower room with emergency cords. The rooms are situated in a building next to the pub and it makes it very quiet at nights. The pub/restaurant is not ‘olde worlde’ or modern, but is has a charming warmth. All kind of drinks available and two or three real ales. (Harvey’s, Spitfire and a guest ale) The menu in the restaurant is very extensive, but most and for all is the quality of the food superb! Friendly staff completes the picture of a wonderful place to stay for one or more nights! In the summertime is a spaciousbeergarden available. On the edge of the villages is a Tesco’s, a petrol station, a garden center and a hospital.

Very nice stay for 5 days and perfectly situated for touring in Kent/Sussex area. Staff friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast and very good evening meals without being overpriced. The room was a bit dated but suited us ok and was very clean but did have usb charging socket on one side of the bed which was an unexpected bonus. Large car park and easy room access without going through the main building. We would definitely stay again.

We had a standard room which was on the smaller side so only place to relax was sitting on the bed or to go into the main drinking area and buy drinks. Bathroom only had a power shower which was very good but surrounding sealent would benefit from being renewed. Next time we'll go for a bigger room.

Everything went well. Great reception on booking in. Breakfast was included and met with our expectations. Nothing to much trouble. The room, whilst small, had all what we required. Exceptionally hot weather and difficult to cool the room at night (Although a fan was included) this is not a negative comment, it was just hot weather. Not much you can do. We sat in the garden after dinner which was cool and pleasant. We had dinner for the three nights which was very good value for money. Parking on the grounds was also no problem.

We stayed here for six nights in late September. Location wise it was perfect, being only a short distance from Tunbridge Wells and also the A21 and A228, giving us quick access into Kent and Sussex. The hotel itself is full of character and our room was comfortable, clean and offered all that we expected and needed for our stay. The breakfasts were excellent and offered a wide choice, as did the restaurant with again a wide ranging menu. Complete with a comfortable, well stocked bar with local beers we were more than happy with what was on offer. Finally, a note about the staff - efficient, helpful and friendly. Definitely recommended!

Breakfast was great and it was good to have a restaurant and bar on site. The staff were all very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. There was always parking available. The room was cosy and toiletries were provided. The location was good for where we were visiting and it was easy to come and go. Meals in the restaurant were good and there is a lovely vibe about the place. It is clearly a very popular local venue as the restaurant was full every night (it was Christmas) and people were very happy. The shower was fabulous and the water was hot.

The rooms and bathroom were a little tired and the bathroom ceiling badly needed repainting. We didn’t really like the coffee machine, but that’s not something we would use anyway. Good old fashioned instant coffee would have been preferred as nespresso machines are very faffy and there wasn’t much coffee once everything was prepared. There were no instructions in the room for TV, coffee machine or trouser press. A guest lounge area would have been nice for those not wishing to sit in the bar or bedroom all evening. As it was winter that was a bit restrictive as there weren’t any chairs in the bedroom.

We stayed during the vey hot weather 11-15 Juy 2022 and the room was lovely and cool because it was in the shaded area of the garden. Very quiet too. The breakfast was plentiful, choice of both continental and full english and more. The pub garden was huge with umbrellas or a large covered area as well. The menu was extensive and food lovely. Location was great, just 3 miles from Tonbridge Wells centre, 2 miles from retail outlet with a big Odeon cinema. Good location to go out and about, not far from Hever Castle and at least 4 amazing National Trust properties. Would highly recommend this pub/hotel.

My only comment were the mattresses were a bit lumpy. Everything else was amazing.

Room was spacious, bed king size and comfortable - the room was not on the road, so very quite and we had a good night sleep.. Breakfast has enough options, people were all very kind and helpful. the bathroom needs 10 min of care - wobbly toilet roll holder - but that is not worth reducing marks from them...

The list here is very short - bathroom needs a little attention - lose toilet roll holder and part of the tile grout may need replacement. More plugholes will be better - if you are travelling with two laptops and two smart phones,.. etc may need to charge them at the same time - but none of these is worth marking down

Family run hotel so they made sure that we were well looked after. All the staff were very helpful, polite & friendly. Breakfast 10/10 - one of the best that we have ever had. We had fresh fruit salad with natural yoghurt, followed by a sausage sandwich. All freshly served & well presented. Dinner menu - 2 sides of A4 to choose from, so something for everyone. Very impressed. All very well cooked & presented. Thank you for making our stay so good.

Beautiful pub, excellent facities and fantastic value for money! We arrived around 5:30ish and there was plenty of free parking. We were quickly checked in and shown to our room., which had everything anyone could need. Unfortunately we didn't have time to spend time in the pub that evening as we were attending a party near by. Excellent night's sleep, comfortable bed and very quiet. Amazing breakfast, attentive staff and overall a great stay,. We will most definitely be back! Could not recommend highly enough! Thankyou.

Breakfast good quality served in good time, room well maintained everything worked, particularly liked the ironing board -where can I get one? Fire alarm pushes all around, electronic door lock, CCTV around the hotel. Good pub dinner menu.

The hotel was run to a formula, I suppose this makes everything the same. The sausage, beans, tomato etc was exactly in the same position every day - same amount - same position. Staff were efficient not over friendly. Could have asked - did you have a good day, where did you go, Have you been to ....... The staff were polite but not individuals. For a country pub I would have expected a bit more 'mine host'
