Mercure Tunbridge Wells Hotel

Lovely settings, the staff well what can I say they were all so friendly and helpful a credit to the hotel! From receptionist to bar staff, house keeping and wedding organisers all fantastic. Breakfast had a great selection enough for everyone and all coming out fresh! Lovely food! It was very peaceful outside perfect to just sit and relax. Room was a great size with a very nice bathroom with a bath and shower (with good flow) Lovely touches in the bedroom on arrival. Lovely hotel I would recommend to family and friends

The only thing for me was the bed was a little hard for my liking but that is down to my personal preference.

We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and we were thoroughly spoiled by the staff and had the most enjoyable stay. Four poster bed covered in rose petals a chilled bottle of Prosecco and soft drinks and snacks on arrival. Anniversary banners on our doors ❤️ And a beautiful orchid plant given as a gift too. The suite was large and comfortable with two TVs and a lovely big bathroom with tub and shower over. Definitely stay here again. Fabulous plentiful breakfast with huge variety of hot and cold food. Special mention to Connie on reception, Jo in the bar and restaurant and John at breakfast.

the room was delightful. clean and very comfortable. plenty of parking. the staff were very attentive and polite.

I didn't like breakfast arrangements with my dog. I am in perfect agreement that the dog should not be allowed in the restaurant and I was perfectly happy with the table in lounge area outside the door of the restaurant. however. I'm a solo traveller with a dog and it was a buffet breakfast. the staff didn't seem to understand that my dog is old and deaf and therefore might be unreliable with strangers. I had to leave the dog tied up in the lounge area and quickly dash into restaurant buffet area and grab coffee and breakfast. so I did not feel relaxed and actually felt I couldn't have a second coffee which I would have liked. this did Marr what was otherwise a perfectly good stay.

The hotel is in a quiet setting with ample free parking. It was a competative rate. We were in a ground floor family room which was clean & spacious. We liked the hand/ body wash. Nice bath towels! We had almost been put off by previous reviews but as we were travelling on a tight budget we decided to risk staying & we were very pleased we did. The bed was comfortable & we didn't hear a lot of noise from other residents! We could open the window & still had no road noise. Breakfast was very varied & generous! Staff were friendly & kind & we had no complaints.

location was great staff were lovely especially Vincent & Connie. they went out of their way to give us a memorable experience and we’re very welcoming.

the outdoor seating was lovely but during this summer weather which we are in a heatwave theirs only 4 tables which you could look at expanding. ice for drinks melts before you even sit down. was told ice machine needs servicing. definitely does. never got to eat in the actual restaurant as their was a big party over from France. We still ate though and the food was good.

The staff were lovely, all very helpful and friendly. And although I arrived much earlier than expected, Connie took care of me and my room was available very quickly. In the end my husband did stay with me the night as his surgical procedure had to be cancelled! BUT, initially I was a bit put out having to pay for a double room, as you don't do single rooms! But as it turned out my husband was then able to join me!

I feel the food is a little expensive, although I don't eat breakfast, only cereal. But then I guess the prices match the location. But otherwise nice clean, comfortable premises. m And quiet too.

room floor looked like it hadn’t been cleaned when we arrived. there was a function in the evening and we were going out and were concerned we would not have a parking space when we came back. reception seemed unconcerned about our issue and we were told that we could park round the back if there wasn’t a space available. as it was we got back as someone was leaving. customers staying at the hotel should take precedence to visitors for a function.

Good parking that is free for hotel guests. Very clean, neat and tidy. Good size room, comfortable bed. The tea/coffee tray was set up nicely with UHT longlife milk sachets, some biscuits and there was a bar of Galaxy as a welcome with a note from the General Manager. A small gesture but what a lovely touch! Plug sockets well positioned for mirrors to use hairdryer which is not always the case. Connie on reception was very welcoming and engaging. A very nice overnight stay.

Location good. Really needed lights at the entrance to the main road as could not see when we arrived late at night and passed it twice. Another aspect I would like to see is Electric charging point. After a long journey I had to go and park somewhere for 2 hours to charge my car. Before I could relax ready for work next morning. Finally breakfast the hot food was just so fatty. Soaked in oil and cooking grease.

Reception was polite and helpfull. Bit of a mix up about evening meal I had pre booked and breakfasts. Was resolved instantly. Food in the restarant was well cooked, tasty and excellant value for money, althougth serving staff could do with smilling. Our room (135) exceeded my expectations in respect of size, shower facillities and cleanlyness. Apart from the very busy restaraunt staff, all other staff I met were very friendly, with special mention of the bar staff who kindly arranged a late Burger Meal for my wife and I, even thougth last orders were 9:30 and the cheif finished work at 10pm as I never enquired until 10:05pm! I felt privaliged when at 10:30pm I picked up a burger meal for two and had a great conversation over a Guniess with two bar staff. all good. :-)

Parking was a struggle only because the venue was so busy. The fact it was busy acted as assurance that the venue must be doing something right. I think we got th last avalible car park space at 9:45pm. Tap in our bathroom was a test for your wrists to turn, but the flow and heat of water was good.
