This was the third or fourth time I've stayed at The Vaults. It is right beside the railway station in Shrewsbury and very convenient for everywhere in the town. I booked the top floor as it is the biggest of the rooms. It costs a tenner more but well worth it for the extra space. The room and bathroom were spotless, and the shower was fantastic after a hard night on the town. I know the town and was meeting friends so didn't need any information but the staff were friendly and helpful. I'll definitely stay there next time I visit.

There was nothing to dislike. It is a town center pub so noise is expected at night and they restock in the mornings but that is to be expected too. They have a DJ on Friday and Saturday until midnight so it may not be suitable for an elderly couple or those with young children. However I went to meet mates for a reunion so staying in a pub was perfect.

Location was great, close to station,parking & centre. Staff were terrific, very attentive & gave advice, nothing was too much trouble. Room was small / basic but adequate - comfy bed & clean. We were out & about both nights, attended Let’s Rock 2nd day - bar/music noise didn’t bother us, it was fully quiet by midnight & no other noise all night, enjoyed a lie in!!

Location, good sleep from midnight with lie in. Even brought back a pizza & enjoyed sitting in the bar with a drink 🤗

Excellent position close to town, next to railway and close to bus station so easy access to facilities. Despite being above a pub it was quiet after 11pm. The bed was very comfortable. Staff are friendly. Constant Wi-Fi in room which is a bonus. A fan was provided during the hot weather which was needed.

My roof top room had a small window that you can’t see out of which does not matter for a short stay . With the window open you can hear a generator so earplugs are needed. I did not mind but some people may expect breakfast facilities but there are plenty of eating places around. Stairways to top floor look a bit tired but the place was clean. ( no lift if people need it)

My second stay here, usually as a stop over between trains (because UK transport is a failure, but you should make the most of it). It's close to the station, with comfortable and warm rooms, simple check-in/check-out rules and, for the town, pretty good value. Ensuite bathrooms are clean and functional. Plus, the pub has a couple of good beers (reasonably priced too), and the pizza joint in front of it has one of the best take away pizza I have ever tried (which you can order to eat at the pub with a small discount). Close to the centre of town, makes it a good point to have a stroll around and try one of the many (way too many) hipster cafes.

Central location close to public transport, attractions and the "High Street" all within a short walk. Room was clean and comfortable and staff friendly and helpful. Pub does not serve food but excellent cafes and takeaways across the road or two doors up. Fireaway Pizza opposite The Vaults gives a discount to Vaults patrons.

Great stay. Nothing to complain about. The Vaults is atypical old English with good vibe and patrons who enjoyed themselves and did not disturb us.

Central location. No frills, no pretences. I have worked all over the world and this equals Manhattan YMCA in budget range accommodation near the "grand" central station. Great coffee and deli on the doorstep,calling with a castle,riverside walks and dining to suit all budgets. Immaculate white linen. Village pub atmosphere in the Station bar. Very discrete. Very safe. Very polite.

State of the Union. It's depressing to share with people who have fallen on hard times. A new Prince Rupert.

It’s a really good budget location nice and clean lovely clean bedding the room was fine if a little dated but in reality who cares about that. Yes and coffee provided and a TV on the wall. Despite being a popular busy pub I did not get disturbed at night. The staff were welcoming and there was a night porter as well. Only saw my one room but really happy with that - it’s not going to compete with a main hotel - but for value it’s great and I would definitely recommend and use the Vaults again. No complaints from me. Could do with a spruce on the stairs and hallways though- great selection of beers in the bar too. Thank you the Baults

Stairs and hallways need a carpet clean and paint. Old pub smell in them with that sticky carpet feel. NOT in the room though

This venue is excellent for access to the town and close to rail station. There was access to the internet in the bedroom. Even though I stayed over the week end despite warning that there may be loud music until the early hours it was quiet and I was not disturbed. There is a pleasant 2nd floor beer garden available.

This property would not be suitable for someone with a physical disability as rooms above the pub are on 2nd and third floor with lots of steps and no lift. In my room the casing of the shower unit was so close to the door that I stubbed my toe and tripped several times!

Good value for money. It was just a quick over night stay after attending an event so we could catch train in the morning and The Vaults had all we needed at a good price - beds, ensuite, wifi, friendly staff, somewhere to get a beer and really close to station and town centre.

No complaints. It's a room above a pub so there was noise early in the evening but not loud and not too late. Don't do breakfast but there are plenty of places for food and coffee nearby.

Never judge a book by the cover! When we first arrived at the Vaults I was a worried as it’s a sports bar/pub and felt like it, but the staff were great and directed up to our room. The room was as amazing, clean, spacious, big bed, huge telly. Everything we needed was there and we had a great stay.

The Vault is a sports bar/pub which can seem a bit intimidating, but as soon as you walk passed the bar area you are in a great place to stay
