Hawkstone Park

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Food very good, and great breakfast. Comfortable bed however the shower wasn't powerful at all, but bathroom and room generally clean. Definitely a hotel for just the golfers rather than a nice retreat or short stay.

Was attending a wedding at Hawkstone Hall and Gardens and was given a list of taxi numbers when we checked in as we knew it would be a late one. Unfortunately half the numbers didn't work or no avail taxis at the time we tried to pre-book. We had to walk a good distance back to hotel in the pitch black... Luckily our phone battery had just enough life left to get us back. Room was very dusty and lots of dead wasps/insects around the window sill. Quite noisy at night (thin walls and people in the corridor).

Everything was lovely, we did have to pre order our dinner on Friday as there was a group of 12 . Breakfast was delisioa& plenty of choice ... No food on Sundays In restaurants but the golf bar a few hundred meters away did lovely snacks so that was grand. Location wise it was a walk from the church where we attended a wedding so perfect, although out of the way for town trips so would need transport which we new already . Spotless clean, very freindly staff amd highly recommended .

we had difficulty with the menu. prior to arriving we were assured that we had paid for the Ala carte menu but we were asked to choose off the alternative menu. took a while but eventually agreed with us. weren’t told that we had to pre select our menu choices before our meal time. we had booked 7.30pm for the evening meal 2 days before arriving but staff unaware of our request.

We loved the beautiful greens around it, the horses, the spaciousness of the dining area, the full English breakfast and the fact that they welcome dogs.

As some reviewers have said, the walls are paper thin, our dogs couldn't sleep (and so we couldn't sleep) because other guests continually made their way past our rooms until 2.30am. The kitchen closes at 8.45pm and there were no options the hotel could offer past that time, other than to order a delivery from a local Chinese/curry house.

Room was a nice size very clean and comfortable bed. Breakfast was good and plentiful. The evening meal far exceeded my expectations It was cooked to perfection and very well presented.

The only issue i had was the drinks prices i have paid less in expensive city center hotels. It wasn't just me who commented on this i heard a group of a dozen or more golfers staying at the hotel discussing amongst themselves about the drinks prices.

Free cookies! The staff were excellent and the general ambience is wonderful. Breakfast is pricey but very good quality all you can eat. Similar situation with the cocktails - everything is great you just have to be prepared to pay for it!

Bed was very hard and the pillows very soft, which didn’t make for a great nights sleep - hip and neck ache! The guests are expected to pay extra to use the spa facilities but we found that this wasn’t enforced and were able to use the sauna/steam room etc when going for a free swim. Would not have been impressed to stay at a spa hotel and be charged (£30pp/2hours) to use the spa.

acoustics in the main dining for a wedding ( and similar just for breakfast ) are almost untenable to hold conversation.. needs some thought for total enjoyment of wedding guests check in at 3 wasn’t ready until approx 5 which was ok luckily for us however the staff were pushing to leave on the dot the next day except for this I would have given a 10

Lovely suite, overlooking the fabulously maintained golf course. Very comfortable, spotlessly clean and a tasty breakfast. The staff were excellent - friendly and welcoming. They went out of their way to ensure we had a super break and were particularly helpful with my husband's medical appliances (much appreciated). A big thank you to all the team at Hawkstone Park, we will be back!

The pleasant, helpful and attentive staff The redesign and refurbishment - beautifully done, excellent furnishings and the grey carpet is a beautiful design. The dining and lounge space is very pleasing, and the smaller lounge has superb chairs

Sound baffle needed in the lounge/dining area. Hardly tactful numbering of the disability access room - number 101! Bathroom facilities not quite up to scratch : cracked toilet lid. Toilet too low!!! No grab rail on left side when sitting - needful on rising for someone who has lost the use of their right hand. Emergency cords were tucked away out of reach. Better quality toilet paper would be appreciated! Disabled clients may still keenly enjoy watching golf, especially in such surroundings! Make this room a premium showcase - you may have exprofessionals or similarly prestigious folk who now have some disability - especially since covid!

Check in was easy, Room was lovely and big, we'd booked the Deluxe Double so it was exactly as the photos described. Nice breakfast, plenty of choice, although we had to wait for the buffet to be filled on both occasions as there were so many people dining at the same time. Dinner was excellent, plenty of choice and good value for money.

Room looked like it needed a bit more attention to the vacuuming. There were peanuts all around the carpet and a few bits that could have been hoovered up. But nothing that bothered us or spoilt our stay.
