Beautiful views and friendly staff. Our room had the most amazing views which changed with the tide. The room included a mini fridge which was really useful. Excellent Gourmet food at the Inn which justified the price. Nice selection of local ales. Great location for visiting local village beaches (Cawsand and Kingsand) which only took about 15 minutes by car and a superb 20 minute walk along public footpaths to ‘Antony’ National Trust Property nearby. Would definitely consider returning. The very short ferry trip to and from Plymouth was an added bonus with excellent timetable throughout the day/night. No fee payable on the way into Torpoint and only £2.60 on the ferry trip back to Plymouth (August 23) Absolute Bargain! Strongly recommend this accommodation, we couldn’t fault it and loved the easy access to places of local interest.

All good but easier with car.

It's a pub/restaurant, with 2 rooms above, directly on the river/sea front 5 mins from Torpoint ferry. the room was clean and spacious with armchairs and brewing facilities; even a pair of binoculars for bird watching provided,,, We saw an Egret 20 yards from the window. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The food was good pub food with great service and the beers were not bad either. The small breakfast was bigger and better than most hotel breakfasts and cooked fresh. It was a good overnight stop in a more traditional pub... very happy with it.

Hot water was tepid rather than scalding, didn't get around to complaining; only there 12 hours, 8 of them asleep

Great location although you would need a car or not be afraid to walk up a bit of a hill to get in to the local town. All staff were super friendly and accommodation was very good, large room, view over the bay, and it's a pub so easy access to a well-stocked bar :) There are only 2 rooms so the service and stay feel very personal, and breakfast is awesome and totally flexible on what you would like that to be. Dog friendly rather than dog tolerant - dog owners will appreciate the difference!

Just be mindful that as a small pub and restaurant that is a little tucked away you need to check times that it is open for both food and drink as it needs to flex based on demand.

Beautiful little place tucked away beside the tidal River Tamar. Loved the warm homely feeling and attention to detail Gemma and all the staff had put into decorating the place. The room was superb and the bed most comfortable. Earliest the best of three places in Cornwall during this trip.

If I'm being very fussy the huge plate of prawn curry was overwhelming and could have been presented in separate bowls, but it tasted wonderful and overall the Wilcove Inn was first class.

We tremendously enjoyed our stay at the Wilcove Inn. We were warmly welcomed on our arrival and made to feel home by the staff throughout our stay. After leaving our bags in our room, we decided to try the Sunday roast. What a good decision that was! Both the chicken and the beef were cooked to perfection with generous portions of side dishes. The quality of the main course encouraged us to have a creme brulee and a sticky toffee pudding, which were both moreish and extremely tasty. The room was tastefully decorated and spotless. We had a great night's sleep thanks to a very comfortable bed and the quietness of the location. In addition, the close proximity (a 10-minute walk) grounds of the Antony House is a big advantage for dog owners like us. We look forward to returning and spending a longer time in the future.

The location of the Wilcove Inn is lovely. A little tricky to get to without a car but I managed it. The bed was very comfy and the room spotless and airy. The view from the room was beautiful and really relaxing! I ate dinner down stairs in the pub and the food was good, as was the service. I would certainly return.

I knew that room check out was at 10am, which is reasonable but I presumed I would be able to sit and work/wait in the bar area. Sadly this was not the case and I only found out when I asked. This left me in a bit of a fix as I had a lift arranged for 11.45am but I had no where to wait so I had to call a cab and rearrange my plans. as I was not travelling by car. I think it could be made clear on booking, or at least check-in that this is the case.

Unusual setting, right on top of MOD land but being on the waterfront and looking across the bay to Plymouth was mesmerising. Really quiet and peaceful. Wonderfully friendly staff, very welcoming and helpful. Menu was great and the food really good quality. I can’t remember the last time I’d had a proper hand cut chip. There are only two rooms. Ours was perfect, comfortable, clean with a great view. Facilities in the room good too. Breakfast not included which is a shame however the quality was excellent. Big shout out to the chef. Would highly recommend staying at Wilcove Inn.

Nothing to dislike about Wilcove Inn. Maybe the single track road in and out.

I booked in for my son's Navy passing out parade, as I wanted a quieter place to stay for me and my father. The inn was lovely - delicious food with choices for everyone (veggie, vegan, gluten free), a cracking atmosphere, and absolutely lovely staff who couldn't do enough for you. It was a special time for us, with family and friends coming from across the country to celebrate my son's Naval success. Being able to bring people back to eat in such a lovely venue really enhanced the sense of occasion. The rooms were comfortable and the place was full of diners on both evenings (even on a February evening). However, it wasn't late when the bar emptied out and we got to enjoy an incredibly quiet and peaceful night's sleep. I booked in just needing somewhere to stay for a family trip, but came away feeling like I'd found a favourite place to stay.

They occasionally have bands on, which I'm sure is a great evening. However, I would have struggled with it during our stay, as the rooms are directly above the bar. We really appreciated things being quieter, as we were exhausted after long trips down. The pub is in a beautiful cove, but is opposite a fenced-off compound, so the direct view out of the rooms isn't as pretty as the rest. This doesn't spoil it as a place to stay, though, and I liked the juxtaposition between the old inn and the naval paraphernalia.

The Full English for breakfast was exceptionally good. What I particularly liked was the ability to down-size to a half portion for half the price. My wife is a light eater and a full breakfast is usually wasted on her. All the staff were charming, polite and friendly. And the supper meals we had were were excellent. Two excellent chefs on site!

A one-way circuit through the village would be a huge help. Getting down the hill to the inn was nigh on impossible. We had to back up 3 times before we found a gap in the locals leaving the village. They refuse to give ground!
