The Three Crowns Pub is in an excellent location: very central. It was very easy to get to all the touristy places. Our room looked onto the harbour which was very nice! We slept well. We did not have an issue with noise as some of the other reviewers had. I guess that we visited out of peak times. The breakfast was excellent: very tasty and well presented. The kettle, tea and milk in the room was very much appreciated. Ditto the two fans as it was very hot on the days that we stayed! Thanks.

The check-in process was a bit haphazard and we had to wait for a while for our room. We had arrived after the specified check in time.

Obviously the location is perfect by the waterfront. Afternoons and evenings there's lots of people eating and drinking and soaking up the atmosphere. However, early mornings are peaceful and picturesque and a walk around the harbour is highly recommended. The prices for food and drink are commensurate with the area and breakfast was included. For me, the best and most surprising thing was the room. It was immaculate and equipped with everything any guest could need. I have to confess that it was the nicest single room I've ever stayed in, well done The Three Crowns B & B! Tim Martin September 2023.

Nothing to report, everything meets or surpasses expectations.

This was the cleanest places I have ever stayed in and I have travelled the country for business and pleasure. The single room I stayed in overlooked the Harbour and it was a Saturday night and very very lively. But get this they thought of everything and even supplied me with a set of single use earplugs, made me laugh and to be fair I would have used them if I wasn't up late working. The coffee machine was a well stocked Tassimo and there was tea making facilities as well. Breakfast was mouthwatering and was more than equal to the very local competition.

Just one point, on the hottest day of the year the aircon wasnt working, it was really noisy and just circulated the warm air. Other than that no issues.

Room overlooked the harbour. A little noisy at night, secondary glazing to help reduce this. Good size room and shower room, good size shower with very decent water power. Good amenities in room. Very friendly, caring and helpful staff, a credit to the establishment. Great breakfast, very reasonably priced (even for non residents would highly recommend). Would return if in area. A good base for exploring Plymouth waterfront and town with parking nearby if you need it. Good bus services in area. If arriving at rail station and want to get a taxi to The Three Crowns suggest booking one to meet the train as none waiting for passengers, if not a 15-20 minute walk to the pub from the rail station and it’s all downhill.

Check in could have been smoother though feel sure this was a one off situation.

I loved the fresh, unfussy decor in subtle grey and pale blue - obviously recently done – and the clever way that space had been used in my small single room. I really wish more hotels offered this kind of space for solo travellers. It was all incredibly confortable and had everything I needed. I also appreciated the young man in the bar when I arrived offering to carry my case up to the attic floor – on this occasion I didn't need it, but in another pub B&B recently I could really have done with assistance with a heavier bag. The view over the harbour from my room and from the breakfast room was great. It's really close to lots of interesting shops, cafés, other pubs, Plymouth Hoe, the marina and the gin distillery.

It was a bit hard to work out whether breakfast was entirely buffet-style or cooked to order, as there was nobody around in the dining room for quite a long time when I came down. Several other guests were looking as puzzled as I was and we had to wait quite a while to be offered hot drinks and what actually turned out to be a very good selection of hot food. The speakers in the bar and outside dining space were turned up very loud, which meant I choise somewhere quieter to have an evening meal.

Great location in the centre of the Barbican area of Plymouth. Room was very comfortably appointed - nice to have a generous amount of tea, coffee & milk provided for a change. Staff very helpful, especially about parking. Breakfast is good - chef even made us bacon sandwiches on the morning we had an early start.

Only negatives are: - the disco next door can be very loud & plays music until the wee hours - this wouldn't usually bother us but - we had to have the window open because the rooms on the top floor get very hot, so we heard the disco If the room had been cooler & we could have kept the window shut then it would have been a 5.

Location was brilliant. You can see right onto the harbour and plenty of shops around. The B&B was spa-like, homely and quirky. Overall, very clean. I loved the soft dressing gown and comfy bed. The breakfast was lovely and different options to choose from. The B&B also smelled like a spa. I also liked the toiletries provided, they also had a spa like scent. Staff were very friendly. You can see they work hard. I would 100% return to The Three Crowns 👑and recommend to others.

The room is smaller than how it appears in the photos - I couldn't be upset though as the room is so lovely Although the shower is big, getting through the shower door is a bit of a squeeze for a bigger person - but fantastic once in The air-con machine is loud and I worried I would disturb other guests

The room itself was great, better than usual coffee making facilities, water in the room, bed was comfy and there was a huge TV and a large fan, which was great as it was warm. The shower was good, and looked to be pretty newly fitted, and the breakfast was included, with a number of hot options you can pick from the menu. The two members of staff we dealt with were really friendly and welcoming.

It didn't worry us, but be aware there are steep stairs and low ceilings to get to the rooms, which may not be ideal for everyone. It does say in the listing, but the club next door was very loud and went on until very late, so didn't get the best night's sleep.

The location was great as we could just abandon the car. It is in the hub of everything but even though we were not out clubbing we enjoyed the buzz. We could see the harbour from our room and also from the breakfast area which was nicer than expected. The Breakfast was very good and served to your table. The chef was lovely. Room wise the bed was very comfortable and tastefully decorated. There is a proper coffee machine.

We didn't have a bottle of water in our fridge, as we arrived late and couldn't drink from the tap this caused a slight issue. However when we requested a bottle the staff kindly brought some up. We didn't have milk just oat milk and there was not enough coffee for our stay. Apart from that it was very good value for the money.

The accommodation was located right in the Barbican area of the city and was ~10-15 min slow walk to the Hoe Promenade or shopping Centre/Mall. The welcome on arrival was great, and as far as the room itself was concerned, it was spotlessly clean, very well decorated and despite any previous concerns I'd had that the accommodation was in an inn (that was indeed a lively one!) with regards to any noise heard in my room, I can only say that I didn't hear anything. On top of all this, a full cooked breakfast was included in the overall cost, and was really well presented and cooked; in fact the inn itself provided a good choice of food throughout the day/evening, all of which was cost effective and good quality. At the same time, if anyone wanted to try other restaurants or inns in the area around, there were plenty to choose from, and the majority of these were within a 5 min walk away.
