•Perfect location to Plymouth town. •The owner moved his car up the road so I could park nearer - very kind gesture! (I bought the permits for the two days of our stay for £5 each when we arrived) •We were next to the front door so less chance disturbing other guests if we came in late - I'm guessing the owner planned this specifically knowing we were a group of 3 girls and likely to be heading into town for drinks - so good forward planning from the owner! •We were given 3 sets of keys so could let ourselves in at any time. •The shared downstairs bathroom was lovely and modern - shower spacious, hot and powerful! •Beds were super comfy. •Also lovely touches like porridge pots with the kettle and tea and coffee facilities in the room and decent size mugs which were appreciated!

We had a room with an ensuite, but the door didn't really close properly so you couldn't really close it for full privacy. (It was a sliding door but only on a top runner so kind of swung out at the bottom and left a gap either one side or the other). But we preferred the shower in the shared downstairs bathroom anyway so mainly used that bathroom over the ensuite.

Lovely period home on the Hoe. Spacious family room with a small en-suite shower room. although there was no breakfast available there were plenty of tea and coffee supplies as well as some instant porridge pots which was thoughtful. the owner was accommodating and pleasant and we would be very happy to stay again. our well behaved dog was welcome too which was a massive bonus.

Slightly dated, but clean, decor. There was no breakfast available next door as advertised on the website we used and our car was too large for the car parking space, also advertised, so had to pay £5 for a permit to park on the road just in front… not a big deal. it would have been really helpful to have had a dog bowl in the room although I am sure something would have been provided had we asked.

The George Guest House could not be in a more perfect location. Nigel was brilliant and very kindly looked after our bags for us while we were visiting the local university, even after we checked out. The room was perfectly clean and a pleasure to stay in, it had everything we needed and more. My partner and I found the bed very comfortable. Very peaceful surround with almost no disturbance noise (other than the seagulls). There is plenty to see and do with all of it within walking distance from the guest house.

The bed was very creaky getting in and out of but perfectly fine once you’re in it and was very comfortable. Other than that me and my partner were very satisfied with our stay and enjoyed the experience and made the most of Plymouth.

Nigel was wonderful...although a little panicked when ALL my family arrived on the doorstep to see the room... 3 of us stayed. Unfortunately, the ensuite had been broken the night before the shared bathroom is lovely. Location can't be faulted.

The guest house is RIGHT next to a busy pub. This is well managed, but if you have the triple room and like to sleep early, the talking through the window is significant. Cleaner straightened room after first night...which was unexpected and it would be nice to have the option/door tag.

The location of the guest house couldn't be better - very close to the sea front, close to the center, easy walking to the bus/railway station and Barbican area where you can find a lot of cozy restaurants and nice shops. Nigel who met us was very kind and answered all.our questions. It was nice to find the bisquits and porridge in the room along with a teapot.

It's a typical british house with no lift so if you have problems with carrying suitcases upstairs, you should probably have it in mind. The bathroom is not big and it was a bit difficult to fill the tea pot with water (not much space in the wash sink). But it's a minor thing.

The George is always nice and clean. This was my 3rd stay there due to its location to where I was working. The owner is always nice and friendly and allows me to have a parking permit while I attend my event. If in the right room the George has a great view over the hoe.

Parking is a bit of a tight squeeze ,but not the hotels fault.

Location was fab, close to the hoe barbican and town centre, large room. Check in was easy. Comfortable bed we slept well. Was worth £65 a night. We booked a room with shower. some are shared bathrooms.Tea coffee etc was replaced every day. Co op just around the corner, not far to a tesco. 5 min walk to city centre. 2 breakfast 2 soft drinks for £9 in the indoor market. We were lucky with the parking £5 a day outside accommodation. Will come back!

Accommodation is next to pub so you will have people talking outside, to be expected, wasn't a problem for us. We were at the front of building. You can here traffic again to be expected. Bathroom a little small. Done the job.

In spite of the very heavy rainfall when we arrived, the proprietor had put his car on a parking place so that I could park close by as I am a blue badge holder and have limited mobility. We only stayed one night but were made extremely welcome and we would certainly stay there again. We had a dog with us but there was no extra charge for this. The location next to the Hoe was a real bonus for my wife to walk the dog.

Great location. Was within walking distance of everything. Even though the room was quite crowded, it was quite plush and the bay window overlooking the park was really nice. Beds were comfortable and tea coffee supplied.

Could do with some basic maintenance. The sliding door to the ensuite kept jamming and locking people in. The light in the bathroom didn’t work. You also had to pay for parking and they would only take cash.

Nigel the host was friendly. The room was spotlessly clean. The beds were extremely comfy. Bonus points for being next to a pub/restaurant. The location was spot on. Close enough to the town to shop but far enough that it didn't interrupt a peaceful stay.

The only criticism is the pillows were a little hard but my preference is a soft pillow. Also maybe include hot chocolate in the room as not everyone likes tea or coffee.
