The hotel is in a quiet area surrounded by parks and nature, but still within walking distance of the city centre (10-15 mins). Our room was nice, clean, tidy, and quiet, also rather spacious. We had booked a double room but were given one that had a single plus a large (LARGE!) double bed, which was cool. I also enjoyed having a bathtub! What's also perfect is that there's a restaurant attached that serves excellent food, including amazing breakfast. We had initially booked without breakfast, then decided we wanted some, and thankfully it was not a problem at all as it was possible to just pay for it at the restaurant. There's ample free parking outside if you arrive by car. Staff was friendly and helpful. We used this hotel as a basis for excursions to nearby Sandal & Pontefract castles, and once went by bus to Leeds, which was easy as well. Would definitely recommend the Holmfield Arms!

On the day of our arrival the kitchen closed at 6pm due to maintenance; we arrived 6:30 so that was a bit unfortunate as we had to head out again to find some food; nearby pub was closed as well unfortunately.

I have stayed at many hotels. And a lot that are more expensive than The Holmfield Arms. But I have to say that this is the best hotel I have stayed in over the years. May be personal preference but the hotel just seemed to tick all of the boxes for me. The hotel got everything right that I would like in a Hotel. Lovely grounds. Lots of outdoor seating. Modern lovely quiet rooms with lovely bathroom and furnishings. The site has a lovely serene feel to it and I just felt completely comfortable walking around and spending time around the hotel as a single female traveller. The food on the pub site was gorgeous. Comfortable beds. Lots of areas to sit and work from but to relax at as well. I felt comfortable and safe during my stay. The staff even put my breakfast in a take out container for work. Just a lovely place to stay with a lovely relaxing atmosphere. Will definately be staying there again. Best hotel I have stayed at in years!

Nothing at all. Only downfall was parking. Lots of it but a very sloping hill area. Flat parking was at the front of the pub but was full with visitors to the pub. So had to park on an incline on higher parking and walk down steep steps. But it was worth it for the hotel itself so I cannot comment negatively on this. Just pointing it out.

Just Really Good. We used this hotel as a stop over to break up a long drive. From the moment we entered reception, we were greeted by a very friendly lady behind the desk. It was a very good welcome and great instructions and directions. The room was large and spotlessly clean. We also had everything meal in the hotel, which was also very good. This is the second time we've stayed here.....it won't be the last, it's one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in....not the poshest, but nicest.

Everything was great, no faults at all.....I suppose the stairs to the upper rooms could be an issue, but no problems for our travelling party.

It was such a beautiful surrounding with a massive park where you could go for a walk after dinner or early in the morning for a run. So peaceful and the parking is plenty. Haven't been to a hotel/pub where there is such a great ambiance from the natural environment. You can hear birds singing in the morning and the amount of trees and vegetation makes you feel like you are definitely somewhere else. The restaurant was lovely and spacious, with a decent selection of meals available. The room has all the mod-cons you need, USB charging ports next to the bed and at the desk, a kettle, a hair dryer, and an iron kit. Perfect for when staying away from home for work. BONUS: Environmentally conscious with soap dispensers and recycled toilet paper.

Stairs from the parking area to the reception are very very steep - so if you need to lug some luggage - best to drive up to the reception, drop off and then go to the parking area on the upper level. Also - the rooms don't have a key-type electricity activation. It is just central - so if you forget the light on - it stays on all day... Something that they might address in the future. One light didn't work - but this did not affect my stay at all.

My room was comfortable and spacious, with opening windows which I like and lovely decor (room 15) Loved the breakfast menu with vegan options, which not all hotels provide. It was reassuring that they provide a 24hr check-in as I was getting back late after a music festival. The hotel is set back from the main road in countryside surroundings. The hotel grounds and setting were beautiful - it helped that it was a very warm weekend (10th June) but I can imagine how stunning this would also look in Autumn and Winter and will definitely stay again. I got home yesterday and have already recommended it to family and friends!

It would have been great if I could have checked in early when I arrived at 11am before the music festival started at 12pm, rather than have to wait until it had finished around midnight, but I suppose I could have contacted the hotel in advance to request an early check-in, which I will do next time.

A last minute overnight trip so didn’t focus too much on the hotel when booking but must say we were pleasantly surprised! Nice clean, comfortable accommodation and friendly staff. Breakfast was great. The location was lovely. Plan to stay longer next time.

Based on our very short time at the hotel everything was great. The only issue was a wedding party, which was held outside our room. We couldn’t open our windows because it would have been too loud, so this resulted in the room being very warm. The only other minor issue was the hot water urn for the breakfast coffee/tea etc was tricky to operate.

The accommodation is beautiful and the cleanest place I have every stayed. Staff are so lovely

The food was very poor Booked B&B and wish I hadn't bothered. Full English breakfast ordered and the bacon was raw! I sent it back and when the breakfast came back it was missing 4 items. I didn't bother going for breakfast on the 2nd day of my trip We had a meal in the restaurant and the wrong order came so waited for this to be corrected but by this time my partner had finished eating. I ordered well done steak and it was so full of fat and looked grey inside that it was inedible Such a shame as the location and the hotel are just perfect

Extremely comfortable up market Premier Inn rooms, of basically same size and style. extra wide beds appreciated. Enjoyable breakfast choice, not rushed to leave, enjoyed coffees after meal.

Entrance to site suggested all car parking was at a higher level that we went up to. To get down to the Reception located to the side of the Hotel, steep stone steps followed. Luckily, I came back to find the Disabled parking I needed and plentiful space was also available. Simple signage appreciated as one other guest was also arriving and had done the same.

Breakfast was good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was cosy and bed comfortable. We have stayed there several times and it was even nicer since the hotel has had a makeover.

The restaurant and food was very good. The only disappointment was that I was looking forward to relaxing with a few pints of Abbot Ale or one of Greene Kings other excellent real ales but both hand pull pumps were out of commission. Lager drinkers were well catered for.

very clean, friendly, and good location. good hairdryer and iron and ironing board supplied. The tv didn’t work in our room so upon reporting it we were immediately allocated another room. service was excellent.

Disappointed with the breakfast. The selection was fine but quality of the pastries was not very good, the croissants were doughy. again the quality of the cooked breakfast was also not very good especially the Rostini which just tasted of oil. bagels were stodgy and dense and the ‘crispy’ bacon was soft.
